So basically: - Ryujinx accuracy came at a cost of being very demanding for your hardware, however it is relatively more stable with less emulation bugs and since it basically try to emulate the actual Nintendo Switch as close as it can, even newer game can be playable at a decent performance and stability (if your hardware is powerful enough ofc). If you're playing very heavy games, especially open world games or horribly optimized ones Ryujinx is not recommended on lower end GPU with lack of VRAM or integrated GPU, heck even mid range GPU will struggle. - Sudachi rely more on performance hacks and try to bring performance focused emulator at the cost of accuracy and stability. Some games as told and shown in this video can face more visual bugs and glitches on Sudachi compared to Ryujinx along with a rare yet still terrible stability in the case of Fighter Z which could harm your hardware. On top of this since the emulation isn't exactly accurate to the Nintendo Switch hardware, some newer games might not be instantly playable or stable day 1 and will need some a patch to optimize it. I haven't tried Sudachi yet, but I am currently using Ryujinx. I have no problem running games on both the base Switch resolution (720p/1080p) or 2x upscaled. The only game I have lots of stutter and problem with will be FE Engage, but it seems the game really have engine optimization problem since even Sudachi have stuttering and performance dip based on this video.
People are looking beyond Async shader compilation for awhile now. For many there is not much of slow down or stuttering for switch emulators. Should be moving forward to precompile shader cache before playing the game. Will have to ask developers to see if this can be done for their respective emulator.
…i use ryujinx without bothering about perfomance or endless tweaking in any way for everything on my le go / windows 11…updates automated a couple of times a week…i keept all of the other emulators from before and after the crash for fun…used occasionally a couple of times for newly released obscure indie games…but ryujinx soon got them up and running as well…but on android thats another story!!!…
Suyu decided to prioritize performance over accuracy, and it still has issues with some games. Additionally, its development was stopped about six months ago, so use it only as a last resort. If you want to balance excellent performance with moderate accuracy, use Sudachi.
Great video. When using Sudachi's latest version, did you find problems installing updates/DLCs for games? It did not work for me, however using the 1.02 version of Sudachi instead of the newest one fixed this problem
Hey, I am actually having this problem. How did you get the 1.02 version? I can only get an automatic download from the download link on the website. When I try to go to the github via the website it says "404 page not found". I'm trying to download the android version by the way.
I think your CPU is holding back a lot of performance on your machine. You should be getting better FPS with your graphics card, or am i missing something? Maybe higher clocked RAM could help as well. Anyways excellent video, thanks, I was wondering how was the switch emulator scene doing (since i'm still using Yuzu). Your video answered that!
Xenoblade 2 runs just fine even in the last Yuzu version (at 30 FPS at least) with the right set up, there's a customizable patch that let's you change a bunch of engine stuff, like dynamic resolution, I have a resonable PC and can run without any slowdown
Thanks for the video. I was looking for someone like this to solve issues. Does the TOTK mod optimizer works on Sudachi for a 60fps and if the games has voice delays? Finally, is it better to use a 60fps mod on the games or use Loss less scaling on a general for double or triple the FPS?
There is a great video on Digital Foundry title: Lossless Scaling: Frame Generation For Every Game - But How Good Is it? It demystify as to when to use Lossless Scaling.
Neither of these emus could run totk well enough for me but Sudachi is almost there. It just has a very distracting problem of running particle effects at a low and inconsistent fps and the spiky frame times
@AlexwpiGame Thank you for all the effort you put into the videos! One question, since you've tried so many things and have so much experience, is it better to use ‘Lossless Scaling’ or the ‘TOTK Optimizer 2.1’ for the best possible experience? I know the optimizer does more than resolution and FPS, but if it's just about those, which is the better choice? Thanks!
Hello my friend, thanks for commenting. TotK does demand quite a lot from the CPU for good performance, especially when using the TotK Optimizer. However, you don’t need too much power to run the game at native 30FPS. I remember the last time I tested it with LS, I was extremely satisfied using a preset of 3x plus Sudachi's native 30FPS. The game ran at 90FPS with no major graphical issues. I hardly notice any input delay, especially since it’s a completely offline game, so I think it's worth it. Once I replay TotK, if I still have this CPU, I'll use this method, as part of the workload from LS is shifted to the GPU.
Yuzu code is poisoned because Nintendo now owns it and can copyright strike any emulators based off of it. Need to make emulators not based on that. Ryujinx will be around the longest.
thank you, great video! Is it available a Discord channel for Sudachi too? It seems that this emulator, like Ryujinx, is still supported and updated, is that correct? IS so, i'm looking for a forum or discord channel where to ask for help for several issues. thanks
I wanted to ask something about the high ram usage, is it because you are running the games at higher scaled resolution than the default by the switch ?
The games that used around 16GB of RAM, excluding Zelda BotW and TotK, are using more RAM and VRAM due to increased resolution. However, most games are running at native resolution.
@@AlexwpiGame i see thanks, i will try to run a couple of games on native resolution and see how it goes if not welp, maybe ill have to get another 16gb of ram i guess.
Sudachi still better, I played a lot of switch game using mainly yuzu and ryujin, the only game I play with ryujin is Bayonetta 3, because yuzu at this time dont have texture compression make the game crash
I just moved from torzu to ryujinx after no information about torzu update. And i tried xc2 in ryujinx and its work perfectly. Btw im using ryzen 5 5600g without discrete gpu
Will transferring save files from Yuzu to Sudachi require format/file conversions? Im hoping its as simple as copy and pasting from folder to folder as its the only thing holding me back from switching (ahaa) emulators.
Just copy and paste your saves; there's no need for any conversion or specific configuration. Both projects have full compatibility with saves, including those from an original Switch.
Ryujinx is too demanding on my end for whatever reason, a shame. Seems like it demands more cpu and ram, ryzen 2600 and 16gb ram at 3200mhz. Back when I had a GTX 1060, it reached a point that Ryujinx crashed while running fire emblem engage, the vram was leaking. I tried again recently with my new rx 7600, the performance of engage remained the same (stuttering and 45fps average) but at least it didn't crashed
So it seems like 12 GB of RAM is definitely recommended say for the ayaneo pocket DMG. Better to get 12 over the 8 GB RAM option? I'm thinking about it for docked purposes for switch games
Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch emulator projects are major RAM consumers. Even with 12GB, it won't be possible to run all games, but you should be able to succeed with most of them. The more RAM, the better, but I would say that 24GB is recommended for running all games smoothly.
@AlexwpiGame please tell me how do you run Animal Crossing New Horizons more than 30 fps lock? I have only 30 fps and tried run mods and cheats but still no progress and still locked. have any advices or any help suggestions about it? How you did 60 fps comparison? Please help
6:46 I just start FEE on Ryujinx and the screen tearing has been awful. I went back to a old build of Yuzu with no such issues. I will try it out on Sudachi to see if I get the same results as you. All of these playtest were done using ROG Ally X though.
I have a problem with every Yuzu based emulator (sudachi, suyu or yuzu). In totk after some time the games begin to run in slomotion, like from 90 fps @ 4k to 60 fps but it doesnt feel at all like 60 fps, more like 20 fps. Is this something known? Im currently on an amd ryzen 9 7900x3d with a nvidia rtx 4070 super. With ryujinx the game runs smoothley at the same fps. I am just curios what causes the problem. Same mods on both emulator (totk optimizer 2.1.0 @4k and 2k shadows and 100 fps cap)
64gb ram and a samsung 990 pro, so i dont really think its hardware related, more likly wrong configured or a bug with my hardware if nobody got the same issues. The slowdowns starts at about 20-30 minutes into the game and get heavier with the time. Vram isnt full but get towards 10gb usage after 30 minutes, maybe some memoryleak is the issue but why
@werewolfpit8141 their github has been down for a while now so i cant name anything specific, you'll notice that i only ranked them about two versions higher than the yuzu team (they're a solo dev) the biggest difference is the memory usage. Sudachi ends up getting 1-3 more fps than yuzu on average while using less memory, atleast in my experience. This youtuber also shows this in their comparison videos.
You will need specific mods for each game, but in general, their compatibility with controllers is the same. There isn't a universal mod that will convert Switch buttons to Xbox or PlayStation buttons, for example.
Sudachi running on my PC desync in audio in bayonetta 3.. I had to download old yuzu build to mitigate that, can you tell me what I should do to fix it.. also i would like to know what you mean by unlocking fps on sudachi. SUBBED AND LIKED
On Sudachi I can't play Pokémon Sword. I get a white screen right after character creation, which doesn't happen on an older Yuzu build. Curious in how you got it running.
It's better to use Sudachi, as it performs nearly the same as Yuzu while saving around 2GB of RAM. The more cores your processor has, the greater this saving will be. Several memory leak issues in specific games have been fixed, and there have been updates that made games like Princess Peach and the new Paper Mario playable. There's no longer a reason to use older versions of Yuzu unless you have specific issues with a game that only works on its older version.
Ryujinx still stutter on opening door in Metroid Prime R on newest build, it pisses me off i replaced my cpu i7 7700k to i7 12700k and it only improved a little. BTW RDR1 runs better on Xenia Canary but may have a lot of graphical bugs.
In the upcoming videos, we'll have a tier list of Switch and 3DS emulators. Although it won't be a direct comparison, it will give you a good idea of what to use. @@AlexwpiGame Hello, so i did what you said, and whenever i reopen my emulator the DLCs gets uninstalled automatically. I don't know what the issue is and it is unusable for me! 😅😅
Yes, Nintendo took down Yuzu, but as with everything that's already on the internet, it remains there. Quickly, they copied the code and derived it into other projects. Sudachi addressed the issues Nintendo had accused and sued Yuzu for, making the project "legal." On the other hand, Ryujinx is considered a legal project, based entirely on reverse engineering. It's said that it hasn't been taken down because its developer is Brazilian, and in Brazil, creating an emulator isn't classified as piracy since nothing is being sold. Besides that, there are other projects that Nintendo tries to inhibit, but emulation is like a hydra-cut off one head, and two more appear in its place.
The performance of the Intel Core i5-10400 is insufficient, dragging down the performance of other computer components (GPU RTX 4070). The Ryujinx software might have become less optimized for games.😟🥺
@@AlexwpiGame Ah, I see. Thanks bro. By the way can you do a video on how to combine NSwitch game files with update files into one .nsp I've noticed that Sudachi is more of a hassle to add updates to games since it needs to install and make another copy of the update file, thereby doubling the storage cost. Combining the game & update into one file would solve this I think and be more convenient.
Guys I'm trying to launch sudachi on windows but it won't launch at all, in the task manager the sudachi logo appears then disappears in 5 seconds. Can anyone here help me ?
It seems that for now, they are not focusing on the Android port. On the other hand, the folks at Strato have shown some gameplay of the project in action, but for now, it's still much worse than Yuzu, Sudachi, and Uzuy.
@user-kt1de9be4c I honestly believe that if they port everything to ARM instead of using JIT recompilers, we would have the best emulator available for Android so far. That's what Strato is trying to do, but honestly, I don't have much faith in Strato anymore. Having a fully native emulator on Android would be like having a Switch, but with much more powerful hardware. However, another issue with Ryujinx is that it uses C#, and I'm not sure how Android will handle that.
for me witch ever one should not crash allot because when i play ryujinx it crashes with pokemon games and zelda sometimes when i play on my ryzen 5 5600 and my rx 6600 build
i know right. Also he said something like a switch emulation of witcher 3 is highly sought after. Why? Just play on PC with low settings if one has weak hardware. Will still always run better and look better than the switch version emulated...Also you can buy it even in the official steam store for 3€ sale price...
Since I started making videos in 2022, Ryujinx has had this issue. The development team recommends capping the FPS using your GPU's software, but this is very inconvenient because if you switch between a 30 FPS and a 60 FPS game, you'll have to reconfigure it each time.
At the moment, there's no way to get them to work together. It's necessary to implement a feature that allows one game to call another, in order to run MGS. However, neither of the teams has shown interest in implementing this feature yet.
It is said that Sudachi developer is remaking Sudachi so updates are highly unlikely for Yuzu fork of Sudachi. Latest release out for awhile now is Sudachi 1.0.4.

Really wish Ryujinx would just add a Async shader option like Yuzu and Sudachi have, until then il stick to Yuzu for the games i have for now
People are looking beyond Async shader compilation for awhile now.
Great video. Can you also do a comparison video for emulators on android.✌️

On my pc 5800x3d and 4090 ryujinx often works slightly better.
Great vid, so should I opt for these two? I new to the space and was thinking about Suyu
@@slicelife9319put the github link on the wayback machine, select may 29th
I think your CPU is holding back a lot of performance on your machine. You should be getting better FPS with your graphics card, or am i missing something? Maybe higher clocked RAM could help as well.
Anyways excellent video, thanks, I was wondering how was the switch emulator scene doing (since i'm still using Yuzu). Your video answered that!
I'm planning to upgrade my setup by the end of the year, thank you for your comment.
Xenoblade 2 runs just fine even in the last Yuzu version (at 30 FPS at least) with the right set up, there's a customizable patch that let's you change a bunch of engine stuff, like dynamic resolution, I have a resonable PC and can run without any slowdown
How about vs Yuzu, if you have an old installation on your system?
Curious about this as well. Currently still using Yuzu's last EA. Hope your comment gets read 🙏
Once I recover from the last 4 days of only sleeping 4 hours, I can make that comparison xD
Games like zelda totk makes my CPU temperatures go crazy in ryujinx 😭
@AlexwpiGame
Thank you for all the effort you put into the videos!
Ryujinx will be around the longest.
poorly aged
Lol, that one didn't age wel...
thank you, great video! Is it available a Discord channel for Sudachi too? It seems that this emulator, like Ryujinx, is still supported and updated, is that correct? IS so, i'm looking for a forum or discord channel where to ask for help for several issues. thanks
If youre games is capped at 30fps just use lossless scaling, its amazing can take the emulator over 100fps
Please stop using naked girls pictures in your video titles. It's not helping, and your videos are excellent and don't need any of that.
@@AlexwpiGame i see thanks, i will try to run a couple of games on native resolution and see how it goes if not welp, maybe ill have to get another 16gb of ram i guess.
very good, but i only play pokemon, lets see how new edition will run
Good vid
Thx bro

What should i use sudachi or suyu? Since ryunjix is take down now
I tried running the leaked M&L Brotherships rom, Sudachi worked the best out of all
I have a problem with every Yuzu based emulator (sudachi, suyu or yuzu).
Please compare latest yuzu vs sudachi if there's really a progress. Thank you
Is Sudachi worth switching over from yuzu EA 4176 ?
Yes
Think of sudachi as yuzu ea 4178, they've made significant improvements.
@@xCastormso whats the inprovements on Sudachi over the 4176 yuzu EA?
@werewolfpit8141 their github has been down for a while now so i cant name anything specific, you'll notice that i only ranked them about two versions higher than the yuzu team (they're a solo dev) the biggest difference is the memory usage. Sudachi ends up getting 1-3 more fps than yuzu on average while using less memory, atleast in my experience. This youtuber also shows this in their comparison videos.
@@xCastorm thanx for reply
Which one has better controller support? I want to use an Xbox Series Controller and I wonder if they have prompts for the controller on screen.
You will need specific mods for each game, but in general, their compatibility with controllers is the same. There isn't a universal mod that will convert Switch buttons to Xbox or PlayStation buttons, for example.
can sudachi run m+r sparks of hope better? ryujinx have significant frame drops while yuzu have graphical glitches and unsync audio?

@@AlexwpiGame Still, I did that and no change. Maybe my rom source was faulty?
What is the resolution used? 1080p?
1080P
And what about yuzu 4176 optimized?
It's better to use Sudachi, as it performs nearly the same as Yuzu while saving around 2GB of RAM. The more cores your processor has, the greater this saving will be. Several memory leak issues in specific games have been fixed, and there have been updates that made games like Princess Peach and the new Paper Mario playable. There's no longer a reason to use older versions of Yuzu unless you have specific issues with a game that only works on its older version.

@@AlexwpiGame Hello, so i did what you said, and whenever i reopen my emulator the DLCs gets uninstalled automatically. I don't know what the issue is and it is unusable for me! 😅😅
Didn't the Switch emulators get shut down by Nintendo a few months back? I'm confused...
Intel i5-10400F would be suffice for testing under 1080p. One of the biggest flaws on this test is adding mod(s).

By the way can you do a video on how to combine NSwitch game files with update files into one .nsp
I've noticed that Sudachi is more of a hassle to add updates to games since it needs to install and make another copy of the update file, thereby doubling the storage cost.
Combining the game & update into one file would solve this I think and be more convenient.

A have a question!
Is there any information about ryunjix port to android?
It seems that for now, they are not focusing on the Android port. On the other hand, the folks at Strato have shown some gameplay of the project in action, but for now, it's still much worse than Yuzu, Sudachi, and Uzuy.
@@AlexwpiGame yes, that's why I'm really curious about ryunjinx on android
What do you think about android port?
@user-kt1de9be4c I honestly believe that if they port everything to ARM instead of using JIT recompilers, we would have the best emulator available for Android so far. That's what Strato is trying to do, but honestly, I don't have much faith in Strato anymore. Having a fully native emulator on Android would be like having a Switch, but with much more powerful hardware. However, another issue with Ryujinx is that it uses C#, and I'm not sure how Android will handle that.

Since I started making videos in 2022, Ryujinx has had this issue. The development team recommends capping the FPS using your GPU's software, but this is very inconvenient because if you switch between a 30 FPS and a 60 FPS game, you'll have to reconfigure it each time.
