The reason why Squeak Squad doesn't get much attention is due to how safe it played it. It's new additions are also not too well executed. The inventory is nice but you always lose 3 slots for chests. The upgrade scrolls for abilities are a nice idea, but they rarely add anything too special. The biggest example of poorly executed is the ghost ability, which you have to unlock but is barely worth using. The bosses and story are also pretty lame, especially with how mischaracterized Kirby is. Despite all of that, I still think it's pretty fun to go back to Also when it comes to Rainbow Curse, I personally never had a problem with the controls, but that's probably because I grew up with canvas curse
@@marx4538 the only bosses I think are good are Mecha Kracko, Dark Daroach, and Meta Knight (which is mostly copied from Dark Meta Knight in Amazing Mirror)
@@marx4538 Ms Moley is way too easy and can even damage herself, normal Daroach feels lame when you're used to fighting Dark Daroach, and Yadogaine (or however you spell it) gets easier as the fight goes when Kirby bosses typically get harder
@@idunno_ Eh, those are fair reasons but they still stand decently well as fights, with Ms.Moley being a very early boss. I think many other Kirby games have far worse boss sets (either being simple and uninteresting like DL1 and DL3, tedious and gimmicky like 64 or just heavily bloated at times like some of the Return to Dreamland and onwards games)
I love rainbow curse. I just played it and it’s so fun. The controls work great, The levels are master fully crafted and the art style is painfully gorgeous and omg the music. Rainbow curse has the best soundtrack in the entire series. It is so goddamn good. Its easily the most slept on Kirby game
Thanks for voicing your support for your fellow left-handers lmao. Kid Icarus Uprising is gonna be the most frustrating “9/10” I’ve ever played. If it was just a twinstick Wii U game or used gyro or something, man… I’ve always wanted to check out Rainbow Curse too but you’ve confirmed what I figured would be the case about it lol. Seems more fun to look at than it is to play. Fantastic stuff as always dude!
Epic Yarn was my first Kirby game (and furst non Mario game), it's super easy but that was perfect for someone of my age and skill at the time. I love it so much! Rainbow Curse has some incredible music and art, but I agree the gameplay sometimes wasn't great. I don't remember much of Canvas Curse's level designs but I feel like I remember it being generally more fun to play. It has copy abilities, other playable characters, similar art to Squeak Squad, loads of interesting remixed music, a nice challenge mode, and only one boss in the normal gameplay style, all the others are in the form of minigames
Long form videos like this are why I love UA-cam. Thank you for putting so much work into it! I was able to just lay down with some snacks and watch it all the way through without pausing once. I haven't given the the Curse games much of a chance after being a bit disappointed with Canvas Curse back when it came out, but now I think I'll give them a go! Also never finished Epic Yarn, so that's another one on the list!
Finally! I've been waiting for you to cover Epic Yarn ever since you started this series. It's easily one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played, especially with the hijinks of local co-op.
Rainbow Curse is such a wonderfully creative game that I enjoyed quite a bit, but I'm not sure I can really speak for its controls because I played the entire thing with my friend in co-op as Bandana Dee, which basically just gives you the controls of a traditional Kirby platformer
Yoshis' Touch & Go walked so Kirby and the Rainbow Curse could run? Also, now I feel like I should consider replaying Epic Yarn. I think I was, funnily enough, too young (almost in college) to recognize or appreciate the creative stuff it was doing.
Excellent script! Lots of snappy little wordplay while remaining concise. Kirby's spin-offs are always a treat, if only to see how many kinds of genres they can pull the pink puffball into. It's a shame Rainbow Curse will likely never be ported to anything in the future, and that Epic Yarn's 3DS port was a mixed bag of changes (plus, taking such a visually striking game and putting it onto a handheld with a screen resolution of 240p). Squeak Squad is a very conventional and creatively bankrupt entry imo so I'm a little shocked to see you treat it as one of Kirby's unsung best. I can't agree at all with Epic Yarn or Rainbow Curse being annoying in their challenge. I found Epic Yarn to be a breezy 100% back when it came out and despite being lefthanded I wouldn't consider Rainbow Curse frustrating in the slightest. There's nothing wrong with having difficulty playing any of these games but taking up so much of your video talking about difficulty in Kirby games is a waste of time unless you have something grander to say about the subject because otherwise you're talking about something most are just gonna scratch their heads at.
I’ve always thought Squeak Squad was over hated. It’s one of my favorite Kirby games… and I have never played a Kirby game I didn’t like, so that’s saying something.
for some reason lately I've been seeing a lot of squeak squad hate recently and I honestly don't know why, I think its one of the better games in the series
I'm surprised Kirby's Dream course wasn't in the video about Weird Kirby games, but I expect you've already covered it and I just need to watch more of your videos 😅
Excited for the review and your opinion on these line up of games Edit: I love the video, love your positivity of each game and love how you show it through the eyes of a player
If Kirby ever got an actually canon compliant anime or movie, I'd want Dedede's voice to sound like he did in Epic Yarn. I'd also want him to be characterized as basically a found-family tsundere for a foundation, not that abusive idiot nonsense from Right Back At Ya. Sorry, now hyperfixating on this! Meta Knight can keep his Brawl voice though. The whole honorable mysterious ™ shtick Meta Knight has going on while concealing his trigger happiness ruined by such an edgy voice is silly, and isn't that perfect for Kirby's world? Who'd I have voice Kirby? Either Edobean or whoever voiced Kirby in Wambu's Forgotten Land video. And yes, I would have Kirby talk, just, with Kirby's vocal mannerisms being minimal and to the point. He'd be all too happy to make reactive noises, but he's not much of a conversationalist. No idea who I'd pick to voice Bandee though.
Like if Kirby could talk in Forgotten Land, instead of Elfilin repeating what Kirby apparently said, the pink puff would instead go, "I'll help!😀" And not elaborate beyond pointing to the Warp Star.
I just found Squeak Squad to be extremely boring with uninspired level design and puzzles that give you a 50/50 shot of getting it right. Nothing really stood out to me other than the gorgeous backgrounds. It’s the only mainline game that I don’t like. Superstar Ultra was the peak DS game.
Kirby and the rainbow curse has an amazing soundtrack
It’s actually so good
@michaelmd8771 I know right
Great main game music plus loads of awesome remixes, they did great on it

from all the games you mentioned this made me replay star stacker for the gbc. having an amazing time.

I actually touched on it in the first video I ever made on Kirby, but it was cursory at best. Definitely worth revisiting down the line!
@@ITOI If you do revisit Dream Course, there is an entire suit of extra fan made levels made by the Game Grump fans.

Squeak Squad is so good second favorite game for me
NO IT IS NOT CALLED PISSING PISSING IT IS CALLED "Squishy Splats"
