All those years ago when this documentary first came out, the first clue I could absolutely discredit was the OPP patch that Paul was wearing. I live in Ontario and that patch is everywhere because we have an Ontario Provincial Police dispatch here in our city. I really wish got the person who stitched this together from the original radio show had actually left the intros and outros. The creepy sounds that he would make and saying the words "turn-me-on Dead Man" were enough to send shivers up your spine.

@@patcola7335 I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but all three remaining Beatles have in one way or another said he died. John had a message on one of the LP's "Paul's dead, miss him, miss him." George called the replacement Paul -- Faul. And Ringo gave a full length interview on the subject which made National news, and afterwards said he would never speak on the subject again. When Faul was on David Letterman, Letterman said a lot of people think the real Paul McCartney died and you're the replacement! To which he answered jokingly "And I'm him"! It was actually a matter of the highest security involving MI6 and their protection. No one was allowed to spill the beans.
Nobody knows the actual events that took place. All we do know for sure is that the Paul pre 1966 is not the same one in 1967 onwards! Simple as that. All the other details are speculation. But i very much doubt it was an accident as they had to have the double ready. It had to be planned. He was hardly the first person to have been imposter replaced. All the clues can be focused on but really they aren't needed as the differences in the 2 Pauls cannot be explained by any other reason other than they are 2 separate people not even plastic surgery can explain some differences.
Good comment. I have to tell you that the double was a half brother of Paul’s. In researching the whole debacle, the doppelgänger had been hanging around the Beatles for at least a year before the accident. I cannot find any proof that the Pauls had met b4 that. Went through it all years ago when the docu vid was released. I always keep an open mind, but had to admit that the obvious differences of facial features couldn't be denied, also l hand r hand, plus how could he grow several inches as can be seen by photo comparison, eye colour change etc etc. I think if there had not been the year or so after the incident, that they took off away from the public eye, any replacement would have been more difficult to achieve. But over a year the majority of people would not notice the details- in part because at that time they would have had no cause to look for them!! Who would have guessed- and fans could be fickle and move on to other bands in the interim. I find it not so surprising that any celebs that are finding their lives unbearably stressful, could, with all their resources, fake their own death and go find some peace and just 'let it be'...
The last time that I truly felt in my heart that I was looking at James Paul McCartney was at the September 13,1966 Melody Maker Awards in London, England. There he was! The cherubic Paul with all that positive energy!
That is the last time. William Campbell’s first picture was when he and Mal Evans flew back from a trip to France/Africa. The next picture was at the “Family Way” movie premiere. Ist video of Bill was going into the studio to make the yearly Beatles Christmas recording.
My father and his partner did many of the biggest shows in Boston the 1960's, one of which was the Beatles August 16, 1966 show in Boston. He said the Beatles were the nicest, most polite of all the bands he encountered. Post 1966, "Paul McCartney" does not fit that description.
The real paul had one eye slightly higher and the face was rounded I was in Liverpool in the paper I was horrified ..a picture of it all .the next day wiped out ..from history I did try to get info from family .like 50 questions .as my late family knew them all And they weren't t all cute ..they were as is

There were several different photos shot for the Abbey Road cover as was for Sgt. Pepper. This one was just picked out by George Martin. It kept The Paul Is Dead publicity stunt going. The American DJ that pushed the rumors for 3 years was paid a lot by Martin and Epstein.. John Lennon debunked it after their contract ended and the Beatles were disbanded.
Bingo! We have a winner! Forget song lyrics, album covers, playing records backward, etc. Forensic scientists presented concise, irrefutable proof that pre- and post-1967 "Paul McCartney" are, in fact, two different human beings. End of discussion. Period. The guy was replaced.
Does it matter? Yes, it does. Aside from the massive lie to millions of people, something was stolen from Paul, his work, his legacy, his chance to be missed. This has made it very clear that we can't even trust our eyes. If they can make Paul invisible, as if he never existed being one of the most famous people in 1966, what can they do to erase a common person.
And THAT hits the nail on the head. I WILL say that I am NOT a PID believer - sorry. HOWEVER - I've heard at least a few stories of people's doppelgangers out there who get mistaken for people they are not, but those doing the mistaking (more than one for a given person) would SWEAR by the look AND sound of the person's voice that he / she IS that person. And THAT is only by happenstance - if it weren't, you wouldn't have lookalike agencies or impostors that could fill in as doubles for people, and that certainly does happen. So - if a person's face is then *manipulated* to look like another person, as does the CIA, Interpol and other international agencies quite regularly, it would be even EASIER to get away with such, STARTING with a person who already looked like another! Now... *that being said* ...subbing this person in for another, let ALONE trying to get away with it when the person is one of the hugest celebrities in the world, is likely to be just about impossible. I won't pretend to know the truth if why there was a replacement but I'm as convinced as I can be that there was a pre 66 Paul who is quite obviously different to Faul/ Billy Shears... even though I still realise how utterly ridiculous that still sounds! Buddy Holly's family approved Paul Mccartney's Real Buddy Holly Story and appeared in the documentary.

However, I was just 12 when Sergeant Pepper came out and I knew at first glance that the person on the cover was not Paul McCartney. This haunted me for years so it was interesting to say the least when all the PID channels came out.

Although they rarely got played, I was fascinated by them because it seemed like the guys on the cover changed every release. I use to spread them out and wonder what the hell was going on. Speaking as a trial lawyer accustomed to evaluating evidence, all of the circumstantial INDIRECT evidence like Paul carrying a cigarette in his right hand, weird lyrics and other album cover " clues ", etc., is all secondary, inconclusive and insignificant compared to what is the far more compelling and conclusive DIRECT evidence about the flagrant and manifest difference in the physical characteristics of Paul vs Faul and makes it obvious these are two different people. The real Paul had that very distinctive and natural head shake which Faul has never shown...you cannot shake a natural movement like this. The real Paul rarely looked at his bass because he was so comfortable with the instrument but Faul is constantly looking at it because he had to learn to play it left handed.

18 to 25 not sure. Vivian Stanshall and the dog bone band were earlier Billy and the pepper pots were on mercybeat in 63-4 when the Beatles came out and cad see a couple of songs there evolved into Beatles songs maybe I will, I have to get another girl.
My personality type pays attention to every single detail. In an interview they asked Paul McCartney about this rumor, and why he's barefoot. His response was it was a hot day and he decided to walk barefoot. To me I know when it's hot the pavement and street get very hot. Why would anyone go barefoot on a hot scorching street? In addition if it was that hot why are they all wearing long sleeved shirts and the others blazers? Sounds like someone lied about that so called "hot day."
Add to this that the real Paul was an extremely stylish person, find any picture previous 1966 were is not smartly dressed. I doubt that he would walk around London wearing flip flops.

I read they were so shell shocked at the time of Paul's death, that they agreed to taking on his replacement Billy Campbell at least for now until they could figure things out. But he wound up staying through the 1970 eventual breakup of the band. Did the band outgrow each other by 1970 & want to go solo, or were they so guilt ridden, distraught, and ready to move on from this whole conspiracy?

Back in 1969, I owned the magazine shown at 6:55. I would listen to "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin which I had just bought the Single, and listen to it whilst looking through the magazine. That middle section was really spooky to listen to at night!
I had pretty good main floor seats for the Beatles 9/6/64 show in Detroit, and in Chicago for the May, 1976 Wings Over America show. The guy I saw from 35 feet away in 1976 was the same Paul I saw in 1964. No doubt whatsoever.

Ringo has told the truth. I read it on Duck Duck Go. Faul claimed Ringo was going senile and was seeking the limelight. Why would Ringo need to seek attention? BS. Faul didn't want to stop playing Paul and has kept the part up since Brian Epstein replaced Paul with Faul after the accident.
It is true that Ringo is the last of the original Beatles. However there are still people alive who were with the Beatles who know the truth. Also, the history had been passed down to certain children involved w/ the Beatles. There’s still hope for the truth.

@nathanmiller2982, it wasn't about money at all. According to George Harrison MI-5 told the "lads" that they couldn't risk worldwide mass suicide if the Beatles fans found out about Paul's death. The MI-5 director forbade the remaining three Beatles from ever mentioning Paul's death to anyone, and threatened to kill them if they did.
So they were absolutely incredibly lucky to not only find someone that almost identically looked like him but sounded like him and who also turned out to be a master musician and composer. Whoever did the cover up must have Supernatural powers. I'm sure this is a fun and fanciful way of looking at something however this cover up would have had to include everyone in his family every friend that he had ever had including all his business associates not to mention the police force, corners along with all Hospital workers and so on and so forth. Not to mention the people who truly loved him would have not gone along with this. And the biggest clue of all is that the powers to be that would have created this scenario would have never allowed them to make such obvious Clues and jeopardize the hard work that they had done.

You are underestimating Billy's total brilliance in his dedication, musicianship and acting skills ...he fooled everybody.. it's terrible what happened to Paul, but Billy is so outstanding, but he ain't Paul, just open your eyes and ears and minds.
There are hundreds of Beatles tribute bands out there. Not ONE has a guy who looks like Paul McCartney. Yet, in 1966 they found one virtually overnight. And LEFT-HANDED!!! What a miracle!
That's not what the theory says. It says he was prepared in advance and was right handed. Listen to Mike Williams and Tina Foster's interviews. They have established the PID theory as proven fact.
Can’t recommend Mike Willliams’ work on this enough. He has done insane and tremendous work that leaves many things undeniable about the Beatles, period let along Paul. I think that all the story that he died in a car accident in 1966 is not true. They wanted us to believe that. However, I firmly believe that he was replaced by a look-alike. If the real Paul is nowadays still alive? I pray for that to be true! He may died years after 1966 maybe as well. I believe that once he was replaced, he still help singing undercover. Why he was taken away? This is a big mistery but it could be related to the LSD campaign deployed for the governments. Lots of mistery anyway.
I think this is reasonable. We never were given or shown concreate evidence of death, but he was definitely replaced. There is a mistake in the video clues. The Beatle's song, A Day in the Life was not about Paul's alleged car accident, but about Tara Browne, an heir to the Guiness (sp?) beer fortune. Tara was a friend of the Beatles and was with Paul when he had the mopad accident and chipped his tooth 12/65. John read about Tara's death in the newspaper. He says in the song that "He was a lucky guy who made the grade." It was said that phrase, "made the grade" meant he got a promotion in the intelligence services. It was not infrequent to stage deaths of known people and give them cover by changing their names and identities and ID papers. Such a famous kid to such a big fortune would definitely need to start with a new name and identity as his role increased. It was also not uncommon for children of wealthy parents to work for the intel services. I guess it helped ensure they would remain wealthy to have inside scoop. I think some celebrities even do this today when they want out of the limelight. They stage their death and pay to go into like a witness protection program. On the official Beatle's video of A Day in the Life, Tara Browne's picture shows up at the 1.04 mark when the song says that the crowd thought they "recognized his face." The camera in the video was on Tara Browne's face. Now, was he at the making of the video, or it was a bit of previous footage? Who knows? The song says, the witnesses wondered if he was from the "House of Lords." The House of Lords in the British parliament looks after the interests of the wealthy. So, indeed Tara Browne was from the House of Lords as a wealthy person from a wealthy family.

Also in "Come Together" there's the lyrics "got to be good-looking 'cause he's so hard to see", which makes sense if a double were to be believable. Paul was good-looking, so in order to not see the double, he'd have to be good-looking.

In The Magical Mystery Tour movie, Billy Shears is asked how old he is, and he says 30. This was in 1968 and Paul McCartney would have been 25 at the time. That is perhaps one of the best clues I've found.
I really like Billy's music. Don't get me wrong, he truly is an amazing singer song writer but I'd also really like to see him stop trying so hard to solidify his being Paul and telling old stories. To this day even. It's kind of sickening. If the truth is reveled before his passing, it's going to be a big embarrassment!

James Paul McCartney born June 18th, 1942. He died November 9th, 1966. According to my math that is approximately 24 years, 4 months, and 23 days. And I’m not using racist math for you woke kiddos.
Refuting some of the goofier claims: 1. Not only is Jayne Mansfield not on the cover, she didn't die until after the album was released! 2. There's no record of Paul playing rugby, or any other organized team sport. 3. The big howler for me is the idea of tense arguments between Paul and Ringo. Every single account of the Beatles says Ringo was the peacemaker between the other three, and the only time Paul *ever* got mad at Ringo was when everybody but Paul signed with Allen Klein.
Marilyn Monroe is near the middle. The one to the right is Diana Dors, who was the British equivalent of a "Blonde Bombshell" like Monroe or Mansfield.
This one just may have me a solid believer now. So many years assuming it was just a great pr stunt. Seems like there's way more going on. Though, how could an impostor be just as talented, then maybe prove to be even moreso? It could explain nothing. And where's this alleged recording of George saying it's true before he died? Even weirder, is how could the very talented impostor live out the rest of his life carrying on with this facade? Ringo's still with us. Can we get the truth out of him? And being an artist, the physical features are obviously different. Nobody can change their looks that dramatically in such a short period of time, unless they underwent a lot of facial reconstruction surgeries, of which, this kind, would've left a lot of scarring. The face/head shape, the mouth, lips, eyes, (even eye color, it seems) brows, ears, nose...all different. Pretty mind blowing.

Both became close because by that time because of their mothers had already died. The people that argue Paul died have been duped. It wasn't Paul who died in 1966. It was John. Think about it. During the "Revolver" sessions, John's voice completely changed (compare "And you bird can sing" with "I'm only sleeping," for example). After 1966, John, or should I say "Faun", started always wearing glasses, facial hair, or long hair so that the facial features were not as noticeable. He became estranged from his wife, and soon became involved with Yoko. Faun's body was thin and wiry, John's was much fuller and more masculine. So why all the "Paul is dead" clues? Think about it. If Paul really died and the Beatles were trying to cover it up, would they really put all those clues out? The real reason they did it was far more clever. You're on the right track. All 4 Beatles were replaced before Sergeant Pepper. Although if you look closely, many different body doubles were used for each Beatle throughout their entire career. It seems there were different body doubles used for live concerts, music videos, album covers, interviews, and the album recordings themselves. It's likely that the bands that recorded The Beatles music looked nothing like The Beatles. One example is The Wrecking Crew. It doesn't take an astute ear to realize that not all of The Beatles songs came from the same band. That would be impossible.

When Faul was on David Letterman, Letterman said a lot of people think the real Paul McCartney died and you're the replacement! To which he answered jokingly "And I'm him"! Nobody knows the actual events that took place. All we do know for sure is that the Paul pre 1966 is not the same one in 1967 onwards! Simple as that. All the other details are speculation. But i very much doubt it was an accident as they had to have the double ready. It had to be planned. He was hardly the first person to have been imposter replaced.
All the clues can be focused on but really they aren't needed as the differences in the 2 Pauls cannot be explained by any other reason other than they are 2 separate people not even plastic surgery can explain some differences.

Went through it all years ago when the docu vid was released. I always keep an open mind, but had to admit that the obvious differences of facial features couldn't be denied, also l hand r hand, plus how could he grow several inches as can be seen by photo comparison, eye colour change etc etc. I think if there had not been the year or so after the incident, that they took off away from the public eye, any replacement would have been more difficult to achieve. But over a year the majority of people would not notice the details- in part because at that time they would have had no cause to look for them!! Who would have guessed- and fans could be fickle and move on to other bands in the interim. I find it not so surprising that any celebs that are finding their lives unbearably stressful, could, with all their resources, fake their own death and go find some peace and just 'let it be'...

My father and his partner did many of the biggest shows in Boston the 1960's, one of which was the Beatles August 16, 1966 show in Boston. He said the Beatles were the nicest, most polite of all the bands he encountered. Post 1966, "Paul McCartney" does not fit that description.

Too many spurious connections to mention and downright errors, OPD / OPP just one example. However, I was just 12 when Sergeant Pepper came out and I knew at first glance that the person on the cover was not Paul McCartney. Speaking as a trial lawyer accustomed to evaluating evidence, all of the circumstantial INDIRECT evidence like Paul carrying a cigarette in his right hand, weird lyrics and other album cover " clues ", etc., is all secondary, inconclusive and insignificant compared to what is the far more compelling and conclusive DIRECT evidence about the flagrant and manifest difference in the physical characteristics of Paul vs Faul and makes it obvious these are two different people.
The real Paul had that very distinctive and natural head shake which Faul has never shown...you cannot shake a natural movement like this. The real Paul rarely looked at his bass because he was so comfortable with the instrument but Faul is constantly looking at it because he had to learn to play it left handed.

My personality type pays attention to every single detail. In an interview they asked Paul McCartney about this rumor, and why he's barefoot. His response was it was a hot day and he decided to walk barefoot. To me I know when it's hot the pavement and street get very hot. Why would anyone go barefoot on a hot scorching street? In addition if it was that hot why are they all wearing long sleeved shirts and the others blazers? Sounds like someone lied about that so called "hot day."
Add to this that the real Paul was an extremely stylish person, find any picture previous 1966 were is not smartly dressed. I doubt that he would walk around London wearing flip flops.

I read they were so shell shocked at the time of Paul's death, that they agreed to taking on his replacement Billy Campbell at least for now until they could figure things out. But he wound up staying through the 1970 eventual breakup of the band. Did the band outgrow each other by 1970 & want to go solo, or were they so guilt ridden, distraught, and ready to move on from this whole conspiracy?
Maybe out if guilt subconsciously, or to still keep original Paul a part of The Beatles' works. Pink Floyd spent much time obsessed with the drugged out breakdown/ downfall of leader Syd Barrert.

I had pretty good main floor seats for the Beatles 9/6/64 show in Detroit, and in Chicago for the May, 1976 Wings Over America show. The guy I saw from 35 feet away in 1976 was the same Paul I saw in 1964. No doubt whatsoever.

I think that all the story that he died in a car accident in 1966 is not true. They wanted us to believe that. However, I firmly believe that he was replaced by a look-alike.

I think this is reasonable. We never were given or shown concreate evidence of death, but he was definitely replaced. There is a mistake in the video clues. The Beatle's song, A Day in the Life was not about Paul's alleged car accident, but about Tara Browne, an heir to the Guiness (sp?) beer fortune. Tara was a friend of the Beatles and was with Paul when he had the mopad accident and chipped his tooth 12/65. John read about Tara's death in the newspaper. He says in the song that "He was a lucky guy who made the grade." It was said that phrase, "made the grade" meant he got a promotion in the intelligence services. It was not infrequent to stage deaths of known people and give them cover by changing their names and identities and ID papers. Such a famous kid to such a big fortune would definitely need to start with a new name and identity as his role increased. It was also not uncommon for children of wealthy parents to work for the intel services. I guess it helped ensure they would remain wealthy to have inside scoop. I think some celebrities even do this today when they want out of the limelight. They stage their death and pay to go into like a witness protection program.
On the official Beatle's video of A Day in the Life, Tara Browne's picture shows up at the 1.04 mark when the song says that the crowd thought they "recognized his face." The camera in the video was on Tara Browne's face. Now, was he at the making of the video, or it was a bit of previous footage? Who knows? The song says, the witnesses wondered if he was from the "House of Lords." The House of Lords in the British parliament looks after the interests of the wealthy. So, indeed Tara Browne was from the House of Lords as a wealthy person from a wealthy family.

In The Magical Mystery Tour movie, Billy Shears is asked how old he is, and he says 30. This was in 1968 and Paul McCartney would have been 25 at the time. That is perhaps one of the best clues I've found.
I really like Billy's music. Don't get me wrong, he truly is an amazing singer song writer but I'd also really like to see him stop trying so hard to solidify his being Paul and telling old stories. To this day even. It's kind of sickening. If the truth is reveled before his passing, it's going to be a big embarrassment!

Refuting some of the goofier claims:
1. Not only is Jayne Mansfield not on the cover, she didn't die until after the album was released!
2. There's no record of Paul playing rugby, or any other organized team sport.
3. The big howler for me is the idea of tense arguments between Paul and Ringo. Every single account of the Beatles says Ringo was the peacemaker between the other three, and the only time Paul *ever* got mad at Ringo was when everybody but Paul signed with Allen Klein.

This one just may have me a solid believer now. So many years assuming it was just a great pr stunt. Seems like there's way more going on. Though, how could an impostor be just as talented, then maybe prove to be even moreso? It could explain nothing. And where's this alleged recording of George saying it's true before he died? Even weirder, is how could the very talented impostor live out the rest of his life carrying on with this facade? Ringo's still with us. Can we get the truth out of him? And being an artist, the physical features are obviously different. Nobody can change their looks that dramatically in such a short period of time, unless they underwent a lot of facial reconstruction surgeries, of which, this kind, would've left a lot of scarring. The face/head shape, the mouth, lips, eyes, (even eye color, it seems) brows, ears, nose...all different. Pretty mind blowing.

After Coming Up, I can understand why people believed this. But really, this is great because it captures the conspiracy mindset beautifully.
The people that argue Paul died have been duped. It wasn't Paul who died in 1966. It was John. Think about it. During the "Revolver" sessions, John's voice completely changed (compare "And you bird can sing" with "I'm only sleeping," for example). After 1966, John, or should I say "Faun", started always wearing glasses, facial hair, or long hair so that the facial features were not as noticeable. He became estranged from his wife, and soon became involved with Yoko. Faun's body was thin and wiry, John's was much fuller and more masculine.
So why all the "Paul is dead" clues? Think about it. If Paul really died and the Beatles were trying to cover it up, would they really put all those clues out? The real reason they did it was far more clever. By getting people to focus on whether Paul had died, it took all the scrutiny off the person who really died and was replaced.
And it worked. All these years folks have been focusing on whether Paul died, looking right past the real person who died --14 years before his replacement was conveniently killed off.
You're on the right track. All 4 Beatles were replaced before Sergeant Pepper. Although if you look closely, many different body doubles were used for each Beatle throughout their entire career. It seems there were different body doubles used for live concerts, music videos, album covers, interviews, and the album recordings themselves. It's likely that the bands that recorded The Beatles music looked nothing like The Beatles. One example is The Wrecking Crew. It doesn't take an astute ear to realize that not all of The Beatles songs came from the same band. That would be impossible.

Please Please Me features long face Paul. It's possible they added a third with Billy, but he may have been the long faced Paul and just got a slight nose job to make it smaller to match his bro. They duped people from day 1.
You're right. However, starting with Sergeant pepper, the body doubles were changed to a noticeably different appearance. It's all part of the mind control programming and "Nothing is real".
