An alternate idea for using 2 water cups, one is used for all of your brush cleaning, and the other is used to get fresh water for mixing and diluting washes, etc.
Hi Emma ! I'm a 40 year old water color beginner and I feel myself lucky to have stumbled upon on your video. It's difficult to start but it's not the first time I'm doing I used to paint while I was in school. I was good. Now I'm getting better and reason is you. Please be you the way you explain and demonstrate. Thank you so much and lots of love !! 😊
A few years ago, I received a small set of watercolor pencils for a gift. I hadn't heard that was a thing, and I used colored pencils a lot, so I was eager to try them. Also, I'd always wanted to learn to watercolor, so finding your tutorials is wonderful!
A friend just gave me some brushes and other watercolor supplies and acrylic tubes. I am having a blast playing with it all while still off work with a shoulder injury. Thank you! ❤
You are such a natural with your explanations! 💖👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💖
Sure wish this video was available when I started on this journey! Thank you Emma!
Excellent tutorial for beginners. I wish I had seen this video when I started using watercolour..Thank you Emma. ❤
Cant wait for more tutorials...waiting for street scenes 😊
Wonderful tutorial Emma, i am a novice at watercolors but find your videos so helpful
Very very helpful thank you - saving up to get the proper supplies to start
Fantastic overview!!
I bought the snap brushes you recommended. I have dozens of good quality and some very pricey brushes, but I find I go back to the snap ones often! Thank you!
Same or close quality imo Phoenix, nicpro, and transon
Super helpful! Thank you!😊
Hey Emma, thank you for your video on the 5 things you need to get started in Water Color Painting. We need this information.😊
Wonderful video! Thank you!
So informative video thank you Emma❤
Thank you very much🤗
Excellent information! When I started watercolour I started with chalky kids paints ( my granddaughter’s). I purchased a cotman pan set and eventually better paper and brushes. I use Academy paper mostly as it is great and priced well for me in Australia. I also have some beautiful professional tubes of paint now after a few years, W&N and Daniel Smith and much better brushes. I paint with my granddaughter still and she has her own MeiLiang paint set, the exact one in your video! PS still use my cotman set as well.
Great teaching!! 🥰 The one thing that surprised me (and kind of annoyed me) was all of the wrappers on the pan watercolors. I had only used or seen Crayola sets before and didn't even know where there might be names for the colors or that all of the brown looking pans were different colors. I was very confused. And very nervous about trying them again as Crayola only frustrated me. I didn't know about spraying the pans ahead of time to activate the paint until I caught a live with Kristy Rice... Might have helped some even with Crayola!! 😂🤦♀️
Watching from Portugal. I love your videos. Some of the brands in your vídeo are also expensive in Europe. I searched the Academy paper and it's just 1 or 2€ lower than Arches or Fabriano, so I go with those. There is a portuguese brand called Inart that sell celulose paper and I think the books they sell are very good to start or to just practice some things (the pads not so much). As for the brushes there is a brand called Lg that is very affordable. Small brushes for less than 1€. I bought W&N professional, Escoda, Princeton (very pricy around here), and others but I keep going back to Lg.
Rosemary and Co brushes might be a good option for you.
@@nicolesmith1309 I haven't tried their brand yet. Thank you
Thank you
Great video. I wish I had had this when i started. I couldn't agree more. I started with a pallette & tube (cotman)..learned about Mei Liang. The ML is about all i use now. 😊
This video is so helpful.
Do you have a tutorial on creating the trees and fog that you have on the Academy paper here? I’d like to learn how to do that.
What are your thoughts on Sakura Koi watercolors - 24 set pocket field sketch box
Thanks for this very informative video Emma. I"m wondering if you have early Canadian heritage. I have early Quebec, French Canadian heritage that links to the name of Lefebvre. Who knows? We could be distant cousins.
That's her married name, so maybe her husband.
TFS 🎉😂❤
I can’t see any mention of your split primary recommendation . Please advise as altho I have the MeiLaing set I want to get the split primary set to learn about paint mixing .
Sorry! Just added them in the description!
@@EmmaLefebvre thank you Emma .
What would the split primary colors be in MaimeriBlu?
Emma what’s the brand of cups for water?
They are from pottery by Eleni! She’s a wonderful pottery maker!
