It was during the Pallava period, brahmis were allowed to occupy Tamil temples & Sanskrit, which borrowed its script from other languages, replaced Tamil in temples. It paved the way to declare Tamil as neesa pasha by a Kanch Matt head & another fellow to sit when the Tamil anthem was sung.

I was surprised about the Tamil word ‘Sole’ and Turkish word ‘Sole’ have the same meaning i.e. say or speak in english!
