- Another 🔥 hot August day in Texas roaming the wrecking yard we find another GM Square Body truck that just came out. This time its a 1979 Chevy Scottsdale 10 Diesel long bed. I had time for a quick walk around as my phone was overheating aling with it being almost closing time. Overall it didn't look like a rough truck but by now the engine amd transmission were gone and the interior had been gine through. Still a few good parts left i would think before it ultimately meets the crusher.

Back when a truck was a truck and people could actually afford it. LOL.
I could afford one today. I'd just have to live in it 😄
Yes I agree and Chevy actually made a truck
I drove 100.00$ trucks back then 1963 F100
Man, a truck like that would still be everyday drive in my country...
Super cool , I love the old square bodies
Nice wind wings 🤙🏻💯😎
Love these trucks.i rarely see them in the junkyard.damn shame it's here.
Love the ol Chev vids😊
I love those square bodies Benny 👍
One of my favorite models, like the Blazer....
Classic lines, shame to end up there. Hopefully it will keep others on the road. Better than seeing it crushed.
Who keeps sending these to the Junkyard? That's good driver quality
Whoa Nelley, oil burner and at one time, it was a head turner.
Yes, 1979 model year with the VIN for the win: C for Chevrolet, C for 2WD, Z for 5.7L (350 CID) V8 diesel, Oldsmobile produced, option code "LF9", 1 for 1/2 ton rated, 4 for cab and pickup box, 9 for 1979 model year, S for St. Louis, MO assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The St. Louis, MO plant in 1979 would also have produced the Corvette. It closed in 1986. Exterior paint is code 43 Shamrock Green as stated on the SPID. I don't think it had a tachometer originally as RPO code "Z53" is for oil, temperature, and voltmeter gauges. This was probably a nice truck when it was new.
Whoa Nelley, a square and there's none to compare. That's it, time to quit. Shamrock Green used to look mean. 350 and gotta go. Square body not looking too shoddy. Going to be flat and that's that. Paint code 43 and it's over for thee. Going to get squished and all of the square body faithful, many here, probably not Benny, but you betcha the Google Man are going to be pissed.
CHEVY 79 DUEL EX. THESE ARE COOL TRUCK ,,I LIKE!!! TRASHED IN SIDE BUT GOOD PARTS OUTSIDE.. WELL SHES NOT GOING ANY WHERE NO ENGINE , BUT THE CRUSHER.. THX. BENNY..
Get thata Rolling!
Nice truck n good year 79 🇺🇲
i like it. stay cool.
Wo remembers the Chevy Camper Special Truck, those were heavy duty!
Bennie, I'm going to make a little money because of this video. Swap meet today guy had a squarebody grille out and I remembered the first thing you looked at on this one was if the grille was broken or not. So I looked his over and nothing was broken. When he told me $10 I couldn't get the money out fast enough. Turns out its a 73-74 grille and should bring at least $100. I just have to go find a big TV box to use to ship it with.
You better grab that Benny, stick a 350 good wrench reman in it 😎😎😎
Looks like a solid truck, other than the classic square body hood taco.
Mr. B. Here ! 👀😎☕️🍩👍
Shamrock Green but the luck of the Irish couldn't help this squarebody. I had a few squarebody Chevys back in the day and NEVER thought they would ever be worth what they are these days. There was a time when you couldn't give these away.
And on a quiet night you could hear a Chevy rusting.
Benny and the jets the body on that square body was nice to bad it doesn't have power windows.
a yard near me got a bunch of these recently maybe not Scotsdale but 1970s and 1980 GMC/Chevrolet trucks 5-10 of them
Non this green though
Where is this I need power window doors.
My senior year of highschool back then at this time in 1979
Little pea shooter exhaust 😂
I bet those door panels would bring some money, that green doesn't seem like it was common.
Man, bad ass
tube una 78 iguál color 👍
She ain’t bad
a C10 🤩
1979 was the first year for the gas filler doors.
You know what Benny if it did have a factory tach it would be for a diesel only. You couldn't use it in a regular gas engine truck.
😎👍👍
Is this going to become a new tundra truck for Toyota Jan?
Its Seen better days 🙃
I see it has the no engine option
As well as the no tranny option
@@ClassicRideSociety Quite popular options for the year 🙃
I got a 77 square body with a extra motor for sale
