I still have my 73 k20 too and I bought an 82 c20 last year that's in relatively good shape minus some minor body work and some interior work. I am a little bummed there was a all original 73 c10 a couple miles from my home that I've been eyeing. I sold 2 weeks ago. I really missed out on that one.

There's a really cool square body to check out; It was in the movie The Wraith I believe; the truck was in a night scene, where Billy Idol's Rebel Yell was playing while they were driving fast. Also, Varsity Blues had a nice Chevy Square Body in it as well. There are too many movies with these cool trucks to remember them all.
Yes. It actually makes sense why he did while goingin reverse. Trucks are light in the rear so if you pin the gas while backing up you'll spin the tires. Putting it in 4hi puts all the wheels. Howeverfor that to work the front hubs need to be locked or you need to have auto locking hubs. Which was a optionon 80's square body's

@@automojo2622 they were great trucks and many of them got worked to the bone until they couldnt be fixed no more, the other problem is the pockets in the sheetmetal didn't have adequate drainage and would collect dirt and water and rot the pockets like cab corners and bottoms of the fenders.
I scored a almost rust free 77 stepside on the cheap 5 years ago in redding California. ...the idea that these are now fetching big dollars is funny. Not they aren't great trucks but they made so many of them and the body style stayed pretty similar for almost 20 years.

Is it bad that, as a 13 yr old watching "Commando" when it was released in theatres, i immediately noticed that (a) they used a 73-75 Blazer (the horror!) and (b), that they used another set of wheels (factory steel wheels) on the Blazer as it went down the mountain side? 😂 The white centre caps is what caught my attention while watching it. No it's not. It's a heavily modified c20. It may surprise you, but there are some very talented fabricators out there. I've see a show cars built from a pile of steel. Modifying that truck would be child's plan for someone who is skilled.

I'm a chevy guy with several square bodies... but I think this is a Dodge. Look at the body lines at the 13:59 - 14:00 minute marks... they're convex instead of concave... and the cab looks like a shortened Club Cab (extended cab).
Good stuff! But, there are more out there. The movie The Gladiator had a pretty cool 3/4 ton. There was also a nice sheriff Blazer in the Chuck Norris film Silent Rage. Ace Ventura Pet Detective had some bad guys driving a Blazer. There was another movie called Traxx where the hero drove a Blazer.

(ooops, the Chase Movie was a FORD sliding sideways down the freeway and exploding... it's hilarious... nevermind!)

Square bodies were built from 1973 - 1991 except the half ton & three quarter ton regular cab pickups ended in 1987 & the one ton regular cab pickups ended in 1989.

The Hooper truck actually had the body put on backwards so the steering axle is in the "rear of the truck but up front going down the freeway

@@TRUCKOCD yes GMC did have manufacturing plants throughout the United States and Canada but I'm pretty sure they had a manufacturing plant in Detroit and Flint Michigan.
