“I think it turned out pretty well” brother that looks amazing. Even more impressive you got me feeling like I could do the same! Subscribed and can’t wait to see more
Thanks! More coming for sure 👍
Nice job! Trailer turned out really nice. If it's not too late... you might call the seller back and ask him if he'll sell you the winch for the additional $300 you saved. If I'm seeing that right correctly, that looks like a Warn 8274 winch. If it works... it's absolutely worth the $300 (really considerably more). If you pull the winch and restore it (less than $200 for parts), that's a $1000+ winch. Best, one of THE most desirable winches Warn ever built.
That makes a lot of sense. He talked about how good of a winch it was, but it did need some repairs for it to work. Just noticed your profile pic.. he was a jeep guy too haha. Yall woulda got along 😂
I have never "flipped" a trailer, but I have worked on my own trailers enough. I always use a flux core wire feed welder for the fenders and thin metal. Much easier to control than a stick welder.
I plan on getting one for sure. What brand is yours?
If the wind is blowing more than 5 mph, you'll have to stick weld anyway. Great job!
I love watching these videos. On my 3rd flip now!
Word of advice, if you are using wet pressure treated lumber you do not need to gap the boards will shrink, this goes for decking and fencing or anything outside,
Experience in decks and fences with the states leading builder, we butt up each piece because of shrinking if you gap just a 1/4in it will end up 1/2-3/4in gap...
Awesome info thanks for the tip!
Nice job! I’ve been waiting for another flip
Nice job. I think it's pretty cool that you take the initiative to flip trailers and put some money in your pocket.
Let's go! I been waiting on another trailer build.
Wish I would’ve known what day you were coming to Havasu could’ve met you guys for lunch. Love your channel. 👍
flipping trailers is so easy and satisfying
Muchas Felicidades Joven Por Su Canal.

Rust reformer is a rust inhibitor.. It will neutralize the surface rust from being active.. Its the same as brushing it off to clean metal essentially.. No worries on that unless its scaley rust..
yeah turned out well ive been doing it for 3 years now and i see alot doing it but no one wires it up right or anything like i do i take my time and turn them into great trailers infact one im working on is a 16 heavy built has c hannel crossmembers instead of angle so pretty solid old trailer
Love this content. keep it up bro
Appreciate it!
Next time you need to notch boards, your chop saw should have a depth adjustment by thr hinge, nyy DeWalt has a black tab i flip around on the right side. Nice work!
nice work
TRACTOR PAINT MAN! Its self leveling and is the strongest paint. Less coats for the same amount of money
The best thing to use is a gallon of rust remover in your sprayer. And a gallon of steel it to paint it and protect it
I use Rust Prime. two coats. it converts the rust and seals the metal. it is 2 percent phosphorous. then two good coats of oil base paint.
It looked like it had trailer brakes on the front axle. If they were, you would have gotten more for it had you hooked them up.
dang your really underrated
With all the time and effort, It would seem , a bit more economical, to keep the trailer and get a few mechanic fixer uppers to flip! That just me.
You did more than the average DIY
Awesome
That trailer would easily go for at least $5000 in my area
Same!
Can you please tell me what green degreaser you used and if you like it. Thanks
Cool, I just need to buy a house with land, a truck for towing, a bunch of tools and a tractor and welder and I can do the same thing!
Yeeep get with the program
It looks great. But based on your numbers, the juice was not worth the squeeze for only $632 profit. However, I gotta give it to you that you are not trying to make any exorbitant of a killing on what you sold it for. Maybe someday you will have someone return the favor and you will get a fantastic bargain on something you want or need.
Thanks for the video.
Good morning young.. What are the dimensions of this trailer and how many tons does it support? Thanks in advance for your attention...
the new wood is swelled and the old wood was dry when they installed it years agoo we deal with alot at my trailer manufacturing shop when we do service work
I've been flipping trailers for 32 years and you're doing it all wrong. Just kidding. I've been flipping trailers for a couple years now, and it's cool to see how someone else does it. Hope you keep posting.
Haha that made me laugh. I appreciate it!
It may be minute but, I feel like a $300 winch added to that would have increased the price to $3000/3250 for the trailer. Could have added more profit...
Que buen trabajo👍
¡Gracias!
You didn’t even wire up the brakes or install clearance lights? They are required in something over 80” wide
The boards are still saturated and are swollen thicker thn 1-1/2". Once they shrink, they will then have a really big gap where you cut them.
Interesting. So the boards needed to dry out more before being installed? I haven’t run into this issue before. Maybe the lumber was a new shipment or something. Thanks for the tip. I’ll keep it in mind for the future.
Pressure treated boards hold moisture for a few days. As a deck builder we let our boards sit in site and acclimate so we don’t get big old gaps on our 45s.
What degreaser do you use?
If you’re going to flip a lot I would get a spryer and buy gallon of tractor paint it’s cheaper and will leave a better finish. Dang a gallon goes a long way could pains several trailer for that price
looks fantastic
Thank you!
Bom dia jovem..
Qual as medidas dessa carretinha?.
E parabéns.
You need a table-saw my guy
Why not get the brakes up and going?
In my state any trailer over 3000# must have working brakes with a brake-a-way that holds for 15 minutes minimum
To be honest I haven’t wired trailer brakes yet. On my farm I’ve never used them and it’s not required it my state so I didn’t mess with them. But in the future I plan on learning how to wire them and doing it on the trailers I do in the spring. Leaning as I go with this process lol
@@charliefarms1I came here just to comment this. Having working brakes is a huge plus. A trailer that size can fit a pickup, so having the ability to stop that much would be great. Trailer brakes are stupid easy to wire. A ground and a power wire. Also, venture away from the cheap and easy wiring kits. Normally made with cheap wiring, and from the kits I’ve seen, cheap lights. You can run a good 7 pin setup very easily, and if you do it right, the constant 12v power wire can charge a battery that feeds the winch you mount on it. Had you gone that far, easily a 3500 to 4k trailer.
So big trailer without break? Is it only for low weight? We must háve all trailer over 750kg capacity with breaks
They have 3500lb axles so it can hold 7000lbs. The law here in Kentucky says that if the trailer is wider than 82 inches it must have brakes. They are pretty relaxed when it comes to trailers
Man i wish my area had deals like this. It wouldnt have gone for less then 3k in its "before" state. Afterwards well into the 4k range. Its obscene.
Thanks I appreciate it! I’ve wondered if it would make sense to drive them closer to cities. I live about 2 hours away from any major city and I bet they would sell higher
Complete newbie, but wouldn't the dovetail wood move around not being bolted down (like the old pieces were)?
I did bolt them down, just didn’t film it 👍
Sooo lots of people already said it, but numbers aren’t adding up. Labor rate is $61/hr without considering any additional capital requirements. Sounds like you lost money on this
What are you talking about? Costs and return listed at the end and I haven't seen anyone else saying anything about this not adding up
The costs and return on investment are at the end of the video my friend. If you’re talking about the title of the video, I wrote 1700 because I believe that people could’ve done it cheaper than I did it.
@@charliefarms1why? Seems like you should stay true to your own experience. Maybe add to the video where you could have saved and what you would have done differently. Just a thought
@@Jaughnyep sharing your experience, with suggestions is way better than giving imaginary numbers.
His goal ultimately is to get a lot of views and make about 3k per video on UA-cam!
Do you need any license or permits to sell trailers?
Not here in Kentucky
In epoxy paint would have been a lot better Or do a bed liner
It is bed liner
When flipping trailers do you go through the effort of transferring the title into your name just to sell it?
nvm watched your other video lol
I tried flipping trailers but then I got a warning from the state for title jumping lol
You have to get that title put in your name before selling it unless you have a dealer's license 😊
Gotta wonder how they traced it back to you..
honestly i would use rust kill for the rust.
Do you flip vehicles?
I don’t for two reasons. The titles are a pain to work with, I really try to stay away from the DMV as much as possible. Second, I’m not really good at working on engines, so if the car had any engine problems I would spend hours just trying to figure it out lol. Maybe with time I would try it, but flipping four wheelers seem more appealing to me since they are more simple to work on if I was going to work on something with an engine.
3:18 _😂😂😂😂😂_
😂😂
Why are you breaking of the lights? Whats up with that? You are unscrewing them any way, but in addition have the glass/plastic pieces everywhere...
It’s fun. Plus the bolts were stripped so I was trying to access both sides
Why not just replace that bent frame rail?
Too much work and I don’t have a saw that can cut that thick of metal if I bought a new stick. Plus the cost
You don't have an angle grinder? @@charliefarms1
I feel like you left at least $1,000 on the table.
like he said it depends on area. he couldve posed for that extra but it wouldve sat. just depends on you!
By smashing the taillights to bits with a hammer making a mess accomplished what?
I needed to access the other side. But mainly it was fun. And you’re not gonna step in it so it’s all good 👍
$1500 all day long in my area
Nice
Ford ranger
Sales tax to tag it so you can transfer the title?
Titles aren’t required in Kentucky so there’s no title to be transferred 👍
@@charliefarms1 awesome, your doing a good job.
Were those LED lights? Do people even care if they’re LED or not?
Yep they are LED, I’ve never had any buyers ask if they are or aren’t so I don’t think people mind. I like using boat trailer lights because they are submersible
Yes it looks ok but the amount of labor and time it took I would think you only broke even just not enough profit to justify it.
Did you watch till the end? It worked out to be $48/hr and a 34% ROI. I think that’s pretty good. Also I’m working by myself, for myself. Quite a few perks.
Most of these accessories make the truck more practical for use, like a van. Just buy a van.
I do want a van actually lol.
Nice job! How could I co😇ntact 😀to you ? Thank you very much.
so you didnt pay yourself for labor?
Yes it’s at the end. $48/hr
Hope you dont have any kids or animals that walk through where you smashed those lights into sharp bits
It got cleaned up 👍
I think it's worth more then that.
The previous owner should learn to weld if he built the Frame for the winch , the welds are horrible looking .
Oh hey you probably never been told before but you really should get yourself a paint sprayer…. Just a thought and I bet you’ve never been told that before. 😊😊😊😊 I’m just being a smartass …
Hahah i know right 😂 finally got one
Airless by chance? I like airless because I can get more paint on whatever I’m painting. I’m getting pretty decent at removing runs in the paint lol
Just one complain, why destroying things on the go? Just unscrew them and keep your area clean. You have tons of plastics lying in the dirt because of that. Good job otherwise!
It’s a carriage bolt, and the threaded part with the nut was totally rusted. So when i tried to remove it, it broke the carriage bolt side loose so it was no longer holding it. Only way to access it was to break the light. Plus it was fun. I cleaned it up after lol
Also all the screws for the decking were rusted and stripped
I agree with the fun part lol :)
Btw, I am doing the same next week and trying to flip my first trailer. I hope it will work, the market is not that big here in Slovenia. We will see. But I can still use it for myself for a while untill I sell it, so this is another good point :) Cheers!
That is really cool this video made it all the way to you. Slovenia is pretty far from Kentucky in the United States! Glad to hear your doing the same. Good luck 👍
you could have just cut that angle iron out and welded a new one in and charged an extra 200$ for "metalwork"
That trailer wiring is dogshit and will last like a month before it's ruined. Been through tons of those sets before I did it right.
Well, what do you consider right then? lol it’s been working fine for me.
@@charliefarms1 Wiring that isn't like 16 gauge and that doesn't have a soft plastic coating that I can just push my fingernail through easily would be a good start. Everywhere that wiring rests against metal edges it will be compromised by simply using the trailer. Anywhere it is exposed to wind so that it moves, the wire sheathing will be cut through easily. And the wire once exposed corrodes insanely fast. The last set I put in my trailer lasted a year and when I pulled it out to replace it the wire was literally falling apart into pieces, and I had 95% of it sitting in conduit.
If you're doing a quick flip on a trailer, no doubt it's been working out for you because you own the trailer a week with the wiring installed. I'm just saying to people watching this working on their own trailers, don't use that junk.
@@charliefarms1 I have the same Walmart wiring with the same solder connectors on my trailer going on three years now.
illegal here
Nice job, but that's nowhere near enough profit for it to be worth the effort.
Very little effort if he enjoys doing it. Might be relaxing for him to be outside actually fixing things up.
And there’s not enough profit in anything these days (that’s legal) with what it costs to live now.
I can drop off 3 skip bins in 40 minutes how bad is it out there to spend 13 hours trying to flip 800$ profit
