I like most of your content and it really helped me to find a skin care routine which works for my skin.
Probably this video is more about advertising fancy things, but to be honest for those on a budget, who hate paying pink tax and/or care about the environment, it's a bummer. Maybe you like to consider the good, old fashioned safety razor, too, as it could be an affordable, hygienic, sustainable and environmental friendly solution. Just a few reasons why everyone should give it a try:
- Although a safety razor may look like chopping off big chunks of skin is unavoidable, surprisingly it's actually safer than any other razor I've used before (and that's plenty).
- Unlike plastic, metal makes it harder for bacteria to grown on, especially since those razors don't come with any (unnecessary) feature like an aloe vera strip for eg. That's just an additional playground for all kind of bacteria, particularly in a humid and warm environment.
- All parts of the razor are easy to clean, including the blade.
- The blades are VERY sharp which lowers the risk of accidental cutting and skin irritation.
- Prices for the razor itself vary depending on design, brand etc, I've paid around 27ish € for a double-edge safety razor. The blades are dirt cheap (10 for 2,50€). US prices are similar from what I've seen.
- Before using a new blade, you can flip it 180 degrees and it will last even longer (1 double-edge blade theoretically equals 4 single blades). However, if necessary changing the blade more often certainly won't leave you broke.
- Considering that many people shave some parts of their body, that's a lot of waste with all those disposable plastic razors and razor blades. In comparison, a saftey razor is a plastic free, sustainable, almost zero waste solution to smooth skin.
(In case this was already part of any previous video I might have missed and which would make my comment sound a bit bitchy, I apologise 🌻🙌🏻)
Amazing!I bought this Ulike hair removal device half a year ago, I am really happy with the results so far, my hair grows back slower and it's getting thinner. My armpits are so smooth and no sign of hair there!
IPL or Laser is NOT permanent. I have been doing laser since 19. Especially if you have hormonal issues. You will have very soft and manageable hair but in order for it to work properly your hair must always be shaved and not seen superficially. Otherwise the light targets your skin which leads to burn and not the hair follicle. If you have blindfish or white hair it will not target that either. Best candidates are white skin with very dark hair, they will have the best results.
I’m glad you reviewed this because I want to try this one in particular. I pay $350 monthly on full body and it’s very inconvenient. I just saw a TikTok creator “review” it but I don’t trust it lol.
ALSO, Forgot to add the best and only razor I have been able to use in the past decade that doesn’t irritate my skin is the Venus extra smooth that is green with the blue rubber around. It lasts me a lifetime without rusting. Best and only
You should consider doing a video on butt acne/bumps … we have so many questions😅
Yes! Lmao
Yes please!!
Yes we need
She did a video on body acne. So I wonder if we can do the same there. But I'm curious
Yes please!
Ok I'm new here, and I just want to say I'm so thankful to have found this channel and Cassandra! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU For this video!!! I have been struggling with this issue for YEARS. I am so excited to use these techniques and products to clear up my bumps and discoloration. I did purchase a sustainable safety razor instead of the billie razors though.
Thank you so much for mentioning HS in your video! I had it for years and no doctors or derms knew what it was. It took years to finally get a diagnosis and start treatments that actually helped
What are you using to help hs?
I’ve been using my Ulike for 4weeks now and I’ve been loving it!! Thank you Cass🥰
Hands down the best review I've seen on this device!!! Amazing job girl, you convinced me! 🤗 I have a question: can this IPL device be used in bikini area?, did you do everything? When I was going to the salon i did everything there and I want to do the same at home but I'm a bit preoccupied since I read they don't advise it. I would love to hear your opinion on it!
Please do a follow up video! Definitely would love to see what happens after you stop. Ive been wanting to do laser hair removal near bikini line and arm pits but just like everyone is commenting...it's expensive! So if I can pay for this IPL and there's long term results, then I might just go with this as an alternative.
I love how you're always being so inclusive but not in a perfomative way but just by saying things like "...are better for men or people who have beards" :)
OMG I was obsessed with the dragon series. Saphira was so awesome
Tend Skin. Magic.
I was a cabaret dancer, and wore very skimpy costumes...I shaved my whole body, but I'm prone to razor burn, ingrown hairs, and body acne. I discovered that if I used Noxema pore cleansing pads (in the dark blue tub) immediately after shaving, I would avoid the razor burn. And If an occasional ingrown or zit pops up, hydrocolloidal bandages are a lifesaver.
what always helped me was to lather the area with a salicylic cleanser and shave, and then finish off with a ceramide cream and tretinoin. simple, but effective.
I use a Mach 3 razor and Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel (unscented and no color.) The Shave Gel is often stocked with men's shaving products. Also, I put unscented lotion on after I shave my underarms, and I use unscented deodorant. Usually works for me.
Switching to an unscented shaving product was a game changer for me.
I purchased the Ulike and absolutely love it! I have never done professional laser treatments at the salon but can honestly say this at home laser was the best investment and have already been seeing results within two treatments🥰
I had IPL every month for a year on my legs, armpits and bikini bottom area. Super expensive and barely removed around 30% of my body hair. It was painful for my follicules and my wallet…
I also have lots of razor bumps all over my legs so I just purchased Ulike. Thanks for the discount code ! It worked and I’m excited to receive it and try it :)
Laser hair removal done at salons is way more effective than IPL at salons or at home - it's way more stronger and likely to get rid of more hairs.
Love this video 😍 please do one about hyperpigmentation in the armpit area, I'm really struggling with it 😶
I have seen massive improvements in my underarm hyperpigmentation since incorporating Dr. Drey's suggestion of using benzoyl peroxide and applying less at night. Discoloration is gone and so is odor!
Yup, went for IPL years ago and never went back. Best decision for my pits!
I’ve ordered The Inkey List SS retinol and I CANNOT WAIT to use it. I shall order the cleanser and try it on my pits tho, those bumps are a pain and they itch like hell especially when deodorants applied!
OMG I loved Eragon! I was so sad when the 4th book ended because I wanted more
What helps me to totally remove razor bumps: during shaving: penzol peroxide cleanser with 5%. After drying the shaved skin I put on benzol peroxide cream (2.5 or 5%). 24h after shaving I use a peel - 8% up to 15% - lactic acid, mandelic acid and salizylic acid peel as combo peel. It can burn, in my case only when it burns a lot for a few seconds I know that its removing the dead skin off the pores so that the hair can grown normally. After the peel I put on moisturizer for allergy prone skin because I only use fragrance free products.
I have been thinking about getting an IPL device for soooo loooong. I was saving up for some new furniture but now with this deal I decided to go for it! Sadly the Amazon deal is only for the US website and I cannot find a way to select a European plug, but the Ulike website deal was still great.
I have white/blonde hair on my arms and most of my leg-areas and face, but the hair under my armpits, on my shins and on my stomach is almost black. And I've been wanting to get rid of it for yeeeeaaaaaarrrrrsssss but nothing seemed to work, and getting IPL done at a beauty salon is too expensive and time consuming, not to mention I hate leaving my house XD So seeing you endorse a product like this made me take the plunge!
Hey, please let us know how this is working out for you, yeah?
Especially if you get white wird hair and whether they groß back as usually if you stop after a couple of months of regular use. So we'll hear from you in a year or so?
@@leoniealastair9219 Hahaha I've put a reminder in my calendar!
I used an IPL device on my face and I noticed the same thing with the wiry white hairs! I now have several that I definitely did not have before 😭😭😭
Yes! Hyperpigmentation please!
personal anecdote: i switched to using conditioner as my shaving cream earlier this year and i have pretty much stopped getting razor burn in my armpits alltogether. can't remember the last time i've gotten a bump~
I highly recommend the Schick Hydro Silk TrimStyle razor. I use it to get a close “shave” down there without getting razor bumps. Also benzoyl peroxide cleanser and glycolic acid toner for armpit care 👌🏽
My hair is so thick and coarse that going with it does nothing😭
Laser depilation is perfect for you then
This!!!! I honestly don’t wear tank tops because of my discoloration too! 😭
I would personally recommend lazer hair removal. Changed my life 😅😂
Literally same😢
@@alybean4211 It helped me a lot with the discoloration too because the laser exfoliates and you also have to use an exfoliator at home. Highly recommend the one called soprano, I tried IPL first but it's not has good
I used to get chicken skin and bumps whenever I shave my armpits many years back. I switched to waxing (19 years and counting) and it’s been a life saver for me. I also stopped using deodorant and sticked to baking soda as exfoliator. And Nivea Creme as moisturizer for that area. I’ve been lucky enough to not have BO 🙋🏽♀️
Can you please do a video on dark underarms? Got it with pregnancy and never went away. Have tried all sorts of exfoliating creams and glycolic acids and brighteners 😭
Thanks a lot for the codeeee, Ill try it this year
15:00 YES!! I still have the books! Saphira! Now i won't stop connecting Sapphire to Saphira. THey are a beautiful blue afterall.
19:06 she called it lol. Plus the new “gliding” feature.
Love your videos 😂❤ very educational and always good laughs
I fixed mine with IPL too!!! Thanks for sharing this information
Hejhej, have you used you device long term? What effects do you notice after shopping, or do you still use it very regularly?
Using a shave butter has helped me a lot! Truly beauty has some great ones!
Absolutely loved this video! Could you do a video of what other products of Dr. Sam´s you recommend? That would be so helpful! Thanks a lot
Thank you for the tips!
Fan from Japan 🇯🇵
Hi Cassandra!!!!! Love your channel and how you share information 😀
Please, if you have recommendations for people with vitiligo 🥰
Content on armpit hyper pigmentation please!
Shaving my underarms the first time is like yesss so smooth 😍 and I forget all my past issues- and then the hair grows back and I shave again and then the razor burn and ingrown hairs are back in full force
Since I started using “male” 5 blade razors I don’t get razor burn because I slide the razor less.
Same. I've always used male razors bc female ones always gave me razor burn, bumps, and they never gave me a close shave.
Consider using a safety razor. Blades are super sharp and much cheaper. Blades can also be recycled.
I just buy it, because I trust on you and automatically makes me trust on Ulike, I hope I wont have bad results.
Can you please make a video talking about this kind of devices and the burns that some of them cause on skin?
Thank you
Cassandra have u tried fur oil? I've heard really great things about it! It's vegan, cruelty free and both dermatologist and gynecologist tested. It's on the expensive side but I love oils and if it's Cassandra Bankson approved I might have to try!
I've used Billie and Dollar Shave Club, and personally, I find DSC to be superior. I get way more usage out of the DSC before I have to change the cartridge.
Why oh why does no one just get a safety razor off amazon and a pack of razor blades? SO much cheaper and an excellent quality shave.
@@LotusesGalaxyOcean For some people, having razor blades in the home isn't a good idea.
@@missy13d69 Sure enough its not for everyone, but in that case a man's electric beard shaver or an epilator will likely be safer and do a better job than so called regular "women's razors".... I just get irritated because most are such a low quality rip off designed to make you keep buying things. No one needs that financial strain right now.
Before trying an IPL device either at home or salon I strongly recommend anyone considering that to go to a salon and try laser hair removal instead, yes it's more expensive but for a reason - it's definitely more likely to work for stubborn hair than the 300 devices
IPL updates ????
Cassandra, try Completely bare, completely smooth as gel to remove your hair. Not only is excellent but also is transparent so you always can see what is left and what you are doing
I’m a guy with sensitive skin and I shave daily because shaving makes me feel fresh. However, I always break out afterwards, no matter I use manual or electric razor, and sometimes I break out more than usual (such as right now). I hate it!
I use Braun Body Shaver and ZERO problems, and now use the green Ulike IPL. WOW. As you, I love the clean look and after a month, barely any hair all over. I was actually surprised, right over my penis that area of hair has basically gone in 2 months. My belly only took a month. I do everywhere, including right next to my anus, which has cleared also. I was surprised at how fast it took. I hope you had the same results. Cheers.
Hey Cassandra I know there was some drama in the past with naturium but I would like to know if it’s worth it 💁🏽♀️ the body washes and face stuff. Love you🦋
Hearing that a razor has to stay out of the shower makes me so happy my shower is impossibly small. Yeah I flood my powder room sized bathroom but my razor is clean!
I used to get bad razor bumps on the neck but after I started using single blade razor, shaving soap and brush, and tend skin aftershave my beard line and body doesn't get razor bumps anymore. But it used to be really bad when I used those 5 blade Gillette razors.
Tend Skin is awesome!
We need a video for private areas 🥺
I’m curious if you’ve ever looked into metal razors. You can get ones that only require changing the blade, reducing waste
I love my leaf razor! It pivots just as a regular razor and no learning curve (like with a safety razor)
I use to get razor burn on my legs and arm pits. I switched to the schick intuition and I has been amazing. I get a close save with no razor burn or ingrown hairs. I have given up on my bikini area. It’s to painfull.
It would be great to have a proper IPL video and also cover all the myth and actual science behind it!
Have you ever had a request to review the facial Flex device? I've seen a lot about it on UA-cam and I'm really curious as to if it really does work. I've been doing it for over a month now every day and it seems like I'm noticing results
My armpit shaving issues was it always aggravating my lymph nodes. I would end up with painful marble sized lumps under my armpits. My dermatologist told me to not shave weekly... I was shaving once a month because I'm not a hairy person. So he suggested doing hair removal. I bought an IPL SmoothSkin Pure & omg it's worked. It has a sensitive setting for my face & armpits & it doesn't over heat with long-term use 😊🇦🇺💖
If you have any product recommendations for HS id love a video on that:)
I’m just starting the video, but the best product I’ve found & use daily is the Pacifica acne warrior toner!
I remember seeing a video where Dr. Dray mentions the course, dark hairs will turn into peach fuzz with IPL, so what you're describing seems consistent with what she predicted. Check out her vid!
Hi and thank you for your video very helpful. May I ask if you can use it after you have waxed the area or you just need to shave before you use it? Thank you
Why do you prefer the inkey boo cleanser over panoxyl? It’s much more expensive?
I use a BHA treatment on my underarms and legs to prevent ingrown hairs.
How often should you use the treatment? If it doesn’t light up it’s bc it can’t detect hair? What do you put on your skin after treatment? Thanks 😊
DO A VIDEO ABOUT HOW TO CLARIFY THE ARMPITS
Can you please do a vieo just for hyperpigmentation!!
Hi Cassandra, if I use it in the upperlip for hair removal.. Should I shave first or I can direct use it without shaving?
I have purchased this device, and I wanted to know if yourself or anyone has used this device on their face and if so how many times should I use the device on my face and if it helps reduce the ingrown and stubbles on the face after shaving?
Just so you know the thumbnail font position goes behind the time stamp and it kind of looks like “how I got rid of my razor bumdo” (on mobile anyway)
😂😂😂
Cassandra what are some retinol products you would recommend for body acne and the scarring from body acne?
can you pls talk about Nivea sunscreens?
hey cassandra! nothing to do with the video, but I wanted to ask if you, as a vegan, knew that The Ordinary actually isn't cruelty free since its owned by Estée Lauder? just mentioned it cause you promote them a lot!
Funny enough the dragon from Eragon (spelt Saphira) was supposed to pronounced Sa-Fear-A 😂 I also read it a sapphire-ah though as well.
Love from Canada 🇨🇦❤
Tiny hint: sapphire is usually spelled with 2 p's.
Thank you Cassandra I've been REALLY needing a new IPL this will be the 5th one I've ever brought my last one just died on me but it was a cheap generic one off Amazon because my Philips lumi needs retirement (I can't get any replacement heads for it and being 10yrs old they need replacing 👀
Also what is the device you are using to tighten and lift? It has 2 prongs. Thanks! Do you REALLY think it makes a difference???
Please talk about Pili multigemini. Its a condition where more than 1 hair comes out of a single follicle. They often cause ingrown hairs. It is said that the condition is rare but im sure its very common since studies are few
I use the flamingo razors! They are amazing! Im allergic to the little moisturizing strips in most so I’ve always used the venus sensitive skin ones, but the Flamingo brand ones are amazing!!! They stay sharp, not allergic to them, glide perfectly, etc. i also use their lotion (which i happen to LOVE the smell of) that has squalane, white willow bark and papaya extract… amongst other topicals 😂 (when my face doesn’t tolerate things I just apply to my body to not waste)
As far as hair removal, do you still like the kenzzi? It's cheaper so....
So my issue is that the most annoying hairs I have are like white/cleat right in my chin but they are the thickest most coarse hair on my body. You said the ipl looks for difference in color.... would that work if I put dye on the hair I'm trying to get off since the color would be dark which is what the device is looking for...? Just a question I've had. You convinced me to get the white ipl from current body but damn now I want this one it looks so much cooler.
Now we need something for all the light hairs 😅
Isn’t IPL only for lighter skin tones though? I dont think pigmented skins can use IPL. I used it in the past and it’s unbearably painful.
White skin, dark hair is gonna get best results, yeah. Dark skin, or light skin with lighter hair, not so good.
The option for dark skin and/or redheads and blondes is electrolysis.
@@user-le4pz3ue9u Yep, which is painful, expensive, scarring, and the hair grows back. We really need a new option.
@@ingridelknermusic actually that is somewhat incorrect. It doesn't scar for everyone. And once the hair is gone, it is gone. It is the only method the FDA declares is permanent hair removal. But would be nice to have more options.
@@user-le4pz3ue9u It may not scar everyone, but it really scarred me. They say it doesn't hurt - it was horribly painful. And most of the hairs grew back. Soft hairs that were done in the area I didn't want them done didn't grow back leaving a sort of bald patch, but the more intense hairs all came back. I did about 6 sessions.
Highly recommend getting a single-blade safety razor. Mine is from Ecoroots, but Hey Hanni is super popular and their Shave Pillow seems like a good product for both during and after shaving. Little more of an upfront cost, but single blades are extremely cheap not to mention much thinner and sharper than the typical 3-5 blade razors, so savings and better results in the long run. There's a learning curve, but after about 3 years of using it I haven't looked back.
Is there a solution for light skin and blond hair?😩
Can you link your butterfly necklace?? 😘😘😘
My beYOUtiful butterfly necklace is only $14 on Amazon!🦋 🦋 🦋 amzn.to/3oaDlCx
Pimple patch worked for me
man this is my biggest issue and its painful
I don't understand how people win with IPL. For me it rapidly turns a hair white. The hair is still thick and unfriendly, just a different colour.
Do you use it on sensitive areas?
Can you please try/review PillowTalkDerm's new skincare???🙏🙏
Can I do my entire face ... forehead?
What's special about the shampoo and conditioner?
Hi Cassandra, any kbeauty dupe for Dr Sam Moisturizer? Can't find it here in Asia.
I got random dark brown spots on my underarms that came and left in 2days what was that😭😭
any idea how to lighten these armpits, between thighs pigmentation?
I’m trying to get rid of all hair
