It's funny how shaving my face is a super intricate and sanitary process. Fresh blades, sanitizing blades I plan to reuse, etc. Meanwhile my husband shaves his face everyday with a razor that I swear he hasn't changed out in six months and leaves in the shower. 😆
Lmao same girl. The only reason why my husband changed his is Because I bought it for him and literally put both in his hands. The man forgets everything
you should try to get him started on more traditional wetshaving using shaving soaps and and double edge razors, they sloso produce a lot less irritation when you have the right technique
I’m a women in my 30s and no one would know I’ve been shaving my face with a man razor half my life. This lady should invest that $$$
As a teenager you gave me confidence to leave my house with acne, I remember asking my mom to flat out to stay home because of the cystic acne and some days she would because I’d be in tears and then one day I stumbled across your videos, at 26 I’m acne free but I attribute a lot of my confidence and skin care from you 🥰
I’m 28 and still working on my skin - I’ve actually had a relapse recently. I definitely relate to acne and cystic acne (which is genetic and unrelated to lifestyle - so ignore the dummies who say otherwise) so I’m glad when others grow in confidence about these things. I still feel incredibly self conscious every day, but I’m hoping to one day know my skin well enough to see more permanent improvement and that I will love myself regardless of the things that I’m not quite happy about.
What a fantastic tribute! I’m sorry you had to go though that, high school can be tough enough without all of that!!
Omg from far I was like “wow, look at how clear her skin is!” Then when you showed the close ups, I was like “omg! She has the same scarring I have!” And I feel a little better now 🥰 I also have never used a retinol (or derivatives) so maybe I should start using them… (I’ve only ever used the Paula’s Choice 2% BHA for night and the Glow Recipe PHA/BHA toner for day).
@@jimmys443 from acne and terrible choices I’ve made in high school from those acne 😂 year later still not much has changed, but little by little 👍🏻
@@DefinitelyNotAFerret You will get rid of it eventually 👍👍So there's no problem with shaving my face like this?
@@jimmys443 as long as you’re not running the blade over existing acne or really damaged skin, I say you should be fine. Definitely be a bit gentle with it if you have history of sensitive skin though
@jimmys443
Some acne scars don't go away and that's ok.
She never said she wanted to get rid of them
I am a very hairy blonde Swedish girl. I was told from a boyfriend of mine that I looked like I had a beard on the sides of my face at 25! After that I freaked and tried everything from waxing to plucking to anything to rid my self of the hair, painful, messy and expensive. I was always told NOT to shave my face! Well I met a friend one day that shaved her face. Dark hair did not grow back and it did not grow thicker. So I shaved my face. I felt like supermodel and I have never looked back. My skin is beautiful now and I hardly have any breakouts anymore. My days of looking like Sasquatch are over🙏💃❤
You're the only "beauty" vlogger I watch. I put that in quotation marks because I see you as so much more than that. Your content is always outstanding and I always feel like I'm being told the absolute truth about products!
I have those hairs under my chin, too. Thank you for contributing to me feeling normal.
THANK YOU for everything that you do! your insight and knowledge are highly appreciated, Cassandra! :)
Excellent info...I cant wait to start adding this to my routine..Would love to know how often do u do this procedure?
@Rebella once or twice a month would be best
Less if you have rly sensitive skin
I cannot put into words how beautiful has been watching you for years and years, and see how MUCH you have evolved and grown, and changed. I'm so so so proud! I really appreciate all you have done!
Cassandra reading my mind. I’ve been thinking of dermoblading.
Same. I actually ordered that Versed dermaplaning tool and I'm waiting for it to come in the mail. This video is going to help me a lot.
So grateful to you for your just brilliant and real informative videos. So many of the problems that I’ve been feeling down about I’m realising I’m not alone in experiencing. Learning so much from you as I’ve realised that while I’ve been stuck in a skincare routine that probably originated in the 70’s things have definitely moved on. It’s been a revelation over this past month looking at your videos and now cautiously using chemical exfoliant and ditched my scrub pads. Skin looks better already!
I've been dermaplaning for probably over a year now and never thought to put a mask on after it, that sounds amazing! ❤ and the moisturisers you use sound super nice too!!
Im so proud of how far your skin has come. The close ups were gorgeous
I love all your videos! They are super informative. The way you explain skin care makes it so easy to absorb, comprehend and put into action. Thank you thank you!!
I tried shaving my own face while I still had active acne and to say that was a bad idea is an understatement. Fast forward to today, my skin is the best its ever been (thank you Cassandra 💕) and I’m excited to try this again!
what happened to your face if you do dermaplaning when there is still active acne on your face? sorry for my grammar btw 😅
@@subliminallytrying4046 the infection can spread to all the face. Even the parts that don’t have acne.
@@subliminallytrying4046 Aw, no worries! I’m no expert but I think if you have cystic acne it’s okay. But if you dermaplane over active acne it will for sure burst and possibly cause scars - at least that happened to me. Not sure if this is 100% true tho bc again not an expert!
@@subliminallytrying4046 This looks right to me! The W in what should be capitalized.
I’ve been Dermaplaning along time and I always did with dry skin and just recently I see people using water based serum…it gets so confusing when too much info gets out especially if it isn’t the best! That’s what makes you and your channel so great!!!
Yes!!! Thank you!!! I’ve been waiting for a shaving/dermaplaning at home video! 💜
I was about to rewatch your old face shaving videos because i wanted to start dermaplaning again!! Perfect timing. 😂🥰🦋
Thank you!! I've been watching your channel for a long time. You are the reason I've been able to avoid gimmicky products. Your information is factual and to the point. ❤❤❤
I just started doing this a few weeks ago but after my first time I applied my retinol cream directly after and I quickly learned this was a big no no for me. Lit myself on fire. Thank you for the video.
I literally just bought a shaver to start this. Our big Cyster has come to our rescue once again! Thank you, Cassandra! We all love & appreciate you! ❤️
I love how you just put it all out there! Super helpful💜
LOVE ❤️ YOUR VIDEOS!! thank you for all of your guidance and recommendations. I learn so much from you because you are so knowledgeable.
I swear I only clicked on one of your videos today, because I haven't seen your pretty face in a while and of course it was so informative and just nice that I had to watch 2 more. I've been struggeling a lot with body image issues for the last few weeks and I have no idea how you do it but your videos always feel so empowering to me. You really really show how to treat yourself and your skin with kindness by not hiding your imperfections and beeing just so positive and beeeautiful. ❤
I just found this and I’ve seen and learned so much what a wonderful, informative channel. I really just love it here
There are things you recommend that I can't get in the UK but I trust you 100% and always come back to your channel for advice and especially because you are conscious about being cruelty free. Thank you! 😘
Well. Those plastic “dermaplaning” tools from Amazon are actually razors and before dermaplaning was thing you used them to shave the hair above the brows to help with shape. So. They’re not for dermaplaning but have been used for brows for a very long time.
Yea agreed. I've been using them for my eyebrows for yrs. They sell em everywhere. I've even found them at the Dollar store. They work great on brows!
Cassandra you are the only person I listen to on skin care. Thank you soooo much hailing from Trinidad and Tobago
Videos like this not only reassure me that my furry face is common, but really help me make the best of my own skin! Great for self-esteem! Oh Cassandra, you're definitely my girl crush!
I needed a video showing me how to do it! I do it after I wash my face but wasn’t sure the “right” way. I was using the oat cleansing balm as a sort of “shaving cream”. That’s great to know!
Thank you so so much for this video. I have been contemplating trying out dermaplaning for quite a while now...I'm quite fair and my hair is pretty dark and while you can't really see the hair I really don't like how my makeup sits on it. I might actually gain the courage to try it out now 💙
So grateful to have you in the UA-cam community the only person I trust when it comes to advice for acne prone skin. Watching you since 2010, genuinely feel like I grew up with you! So proud sis. 🥲
Omg thank you so much I’ve always had a bit of peach fuzz but I’m 50 now and going through menopause so I’m really down on myself and to add insult I now have rough stubble on and near my chin which is upsetting I’ve been shaving it as nothing else works I’m glad you brought this problem up as I was feeling alone and also going to try the razors you use I’m in uk 🇬🇧 so shouldn’t be too hard thanks 🙏
God do I love you and your videos! I saw a video where you blame James for a lot of purchases. But that’s totally you for me! I’m so addicted to skin care now!
I literally just bought some disposable facial blades from walmart and jumped on youtube to watch a tutorial. Your video was one of the first I saw and I'm so glad. I didn't open the package yet so I can return it lol. I think I might try that Versed one instead! :)
So informative - thank you! I’d love to start dermaplaning but I feel I should wait until my skin stops breaking out.
thank u sooo much for this video! I've got a few whiskers myself and I've been looking into this for a little while now. Gonna buy me some little razors like this!
Thanks Cassandra for the education. Love all ur content and look forward to many more soon.❤
I’ve been shaving my face for 6 years and I have never regretted it! It’s amazing. I definitely never knew how deep some acne scarring was until I shaved off the peach fuzz, but I’m ok with it because I love how my skin looks without fuzz. I’ve used the Tinkle razors all this time and I love them. I get about two uses out of them and clean in between with alcohol. I am going to purchase the Versed one, though, because I hate the plastic waste the Tinkle razors cause :( But they’re great to start with! I’m sorry to hear Cassandra didn’t like them
:( Good luck to everyone starting dermaplaning! 😊
You are one of the most beautiful people en UA-cam. I learn a lot from your videos and i find you really inspiring, thank you for your content 💗
You are such a fun person to watch. I binge watch your videos 🥰
Always love your insight on different skin care trends. As usual, great video. 🌺🌺
Hope y’all have a good day and night
Cassandra! I use the exact same cat headband when I do my skincare!!! 💕💕
I appreciate how real you are!!
The you for your videos Cassandra your information has really changed my attitude to my own skin, I used to HAVE to wear makeup to cover up scars and texture on my face but since I’ve become obsessed with skincare and don’t wear makeup and feel tons more confident … Thankyou for being a cyst- ter 🥰🤣😘💋
You came through with my request on this video. Thank you. I feel better doing this on my own. Wish me luck. ❤️
Almost my entire skincare routine is Inkey List products. I never would have found them if it weren't for you. I wish I had found you and Dr Dray years ago before aging really set into my skin. I thank you sincerely for your advice and vulnerability
You should do a before and after dermaplaning with a microscope 🔬
Omg. Thanks for the detailed explanations! Dermaplaning has been great for my dry skin but my skin reddens very easily and is sensitive. I found using I'm From's soothing pads on my cheeks afterwards is soooo calming for my skin. But I definitely gonna shake-up my technique and prep routine to help keep my skin even more. Take Care! 🎉
This is perfect since I just did dermaplaning after my shower and wasn't sure if I did it right 😂😅❤️
YES! Finally! :D I've been waiting for this video
I love your educational videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I wished I would have known all the things you are sharing when I was your age. At least my son will benefit, who has inherited my acne-prone skin, from your recommendations 💜
Thank you so much Cassandra for all the helpful videos. I discovered you recently and I've been watching ALL your videos to educate myself about my skin. I have to say, that following your advice and products recommendations had helped with my adult acne SOOO much. Life changer. Thank you! I would like you to talk about electrolysis as a permanent hair removal technique vs the so popular laser. I am trying to decide if I should give it a try, and I would appreciate your expert opinion about it
Thank you for sharing such honest advice… I recently have started Anti rejection drugs that cause hair growth which is starting to happen on my face-so I have been looking for information on the derma blading techniques and products to use. So again thank you, your video was very helpful ♥️
Dr Alexis Stephens, who specializes in skin of color, recently posted a video on this as well. Also, FYI, Penn Smith Skincare has interviewed the makers of the Droplette.
I've been shaving my face for about 18 months - it's actually really helped my dry skin, and all but eliminated the black heads I get on my nose, presumably by helping me get the dead skin cells off. I never even knew I had that amount of peach fuzz!
I use CeraVe SA cleanser before shaving. My skin is great since I started doing it.
This was so helpful! I just discovered your channel and watched a few videos, definitly a new follow for me!! Thank you😁😁
I've been dermaplaning for over 2 months now and i was skeptical at first but boy was i wrong lol my face looks amazing, hairless and dewy, the hair just like you said grows at the same pace and it does not grow thicker, i actually use actual clinical blades but will definitely be getting that one because the blades i use i have to discard after each use.
I'm so glad she made a video about this. I trust her opinion.
You give a lot of really good information, thank you!
I love you so much! So intelligent and passionate! Thank you for all of your videos
Yes!! Thank you for posting 🥰
I've been shaving my face for 30 years with a bic twin blade razor. I've tried everything out there.. my razor works best because I've never cut my face. Ladies just need to stop being scared of it. I love it. It makes makeup go on flawless.
I love this! I dermaplane or shave about once a month-ish lol, I try not to do it more then that. When I shave I’ll use the cheapie ones, cause well they’re cheap lol, or I’ll use an actual razor (I put on a clean blade). For myself personally I like the razor better, it’s not as scratchy and my skin is smoother 🤷♀️ I’m acne prone as well so I’m careful and I adjust my routine. I love it for the skin brightening and smoothing benefits 😁❤️
Wow, thank you for all the information and details, I really needed a good, instructional video about this! 😊
Wow I never knew that you’re supposed to shave AFTER you cleanse your face, but it makes sense
Thank you for doing this video, it was really helpful❤
For anyone that has bought the dermaflash, (I replied to a comment about this but hopefully more people will see it this way) you can absolutely charge it with a blade on. If you look at the charger, there is nothing on the plastic slide that is necessary for charging, it's literally just a plastic stick. All you have to do is just clean the blade, set it on the charger the same way you would without the blade minus the plastic slide, get it in the right spot until the light comes on, then wrap a hair tie around it to keep in place and it charges just fine.
As far as it not having a guard or being more likely to nick the skin, I haven't really had any problems with that. I'm pretty sure the one she has is the original dermaflash, but I have the newer one and I haven't had that problem with it. Hope this is helpful. I know it's kind of expensive and I'd hate for you to not get your money's worth from it 👍
Another great and informative video! I recommend using melatonin to get that good sleep! I’ve been taking gummies for the last 6 months ITS CHANGED MY LIFE!
I’ve started taking better care of my skin, but I would never ever shave my face. I’m too paranoid that it will make the hair grow thicker.
I started about 2 months ago and I'm so glad I did! I was waxing, before that was the cremes, and whatever else. This is absolutely amazing! The hair doesn't get worse, it actually has grown in less for me! My skin looks much better too. I am really shocked. So I had noticed that Men shave against the grain, and this is done with the grain, downwards. Maybe that is the difference. So much stuff comes off when you do this though. I do mine once a week and that's sufficient for me.
It's biologically impossible for hair to grow back thicker because of shaving. Shaving simply creates a blunt tip on the hairs, which many people interpret as greater thickness.
you may experience a few days where new hair growth feels a bit “pokey.” This bluntness is because most natural hair comes to a tapered, soft end, and when we shave it off the tip is left blunt for a period of time. Just imagine hair on your legs. If it would grow back thicker, how thick should the hair be in just one month or a year.
Dermaplaning and shaving are also 2 different things. Dermaplaning removes dead skin cells etc while shaving only vellus hair…
I'm a bit of a wookie myself and decided to dermaplane for the first time. I watched quite a few tutorials but yours was extremely informative! Thank you for such a detailed and helpful video!!!
@@nmartinez8027 Not at all, I'm hooked! I do it every 2 weeks or so. Way better than waxing😁
I adore dermaplaning. I use the spa sciences dermaplaning device from target
Here in France women don't shave. We use Wax. Am from north africa and i do it myself. Sugar + water + lemon. Heat. And then use with your fingers. You get clean clear skin for one month. Look it up if u want to. Cire à epiler faite maison
first of all love the thumbnail lol!! and i learned a lot again 🦋 thank uuu 🦋 also love the shots where u wore a hair bands with cat ears omgg so cuteeeeeeeeee💕💕💕
i have been wanting to try a couple of things from versed but i'm not sure, would you share the the best and worst products from versed and your experiences about them?
I just started dermaplaning every few weeks & haaaaate those tinkle razors 🙃 they’re so scratchy and dull. super glad to know the vibrating one is a waste of money. I’ve been using the shick disposable ones which are a little better but def gonna try the versed one💓 thank you for this!
I bought those disposable Schick blades off Amazon. I dermed my face tonight! I used to use those mechanical gentle touch razors that would only leave stubble.
I’ve never shaved my face. Don’t need to. Btw You look amazing.
I bought the dermaflash luxe a month ago from your last recommendation. It seems to work well.
Marylin Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor both shaved their faces daily. I started Nair-Ing my face and it’s so satisfying to feel and see how smooth my skin is after.
I really enjoyed seeing the peach fuzz carpet coming off my face lol. I have sensitive skin so when I'd done it was really more sensitive. I couldn't even use epaderm cream... however, Sudocrem really cooled my skin down... and didn't sting 😁 thank you because I thought dermaplaning was only done in a salon!
I’m using those tinkle blades but honestly I don’t like them that much so I will for sure try the one you use! 💗💗💗
I just shave my face when I shave my legs. I've been doing it for years. The peach fuzz side burns aren't cute and my makeup goes on smoother.
Love ya! 🦋 I've never been this early yay notifations turned on now
That isntree moisturizer is so amazing. It works wonder for my skin 😍. I have normal to dry skin.
My favorite is the Revlon brand. I have even tried sharp razors but always go back tonrevlon
I am so glad you're trying droplette out. I read about it for the first time around half a year ago and I'm really interested in it. I hope you'll make a video about your experience with droplette 😀
Check out Penn Smith Skincare's channel. She has a video discussing her experiences with it and another interviewing the creators of it.
@@db-gb5xi will do! Thank you 😊
But because I believe that Cassandra will deliver detailed and honest review, I still hope she's going to do it 😀
Hey Cassandra loved the video today. I just wanted to ask for clarity, I see a lot of youtubers speak of partial partnerships, including yourself today. What is the difference between a partial partnership and a full partnership on a video. Thank you for the video!
I love the Tinkle razors. Lol. Yeah you have to be careful but I can use mine a good 5-6 times. I do it weekly
I literally love your videos (including You❤️).
But being an foreigner, I find difficult to relate to brands you are confident about.
Can you please make videos on the ingredients good/bad for skin. Or what to look for in general, and ya according to skin types definitely.
Much love Gorgeous 💌
I rub Yensa CBD superfood dual cleansing oil on my dry face. Then I use the Schick hydro silk touch up razors to dermaplan. These razors are pretty good for the price point. After that I wash my face with a foaming cleansing gel in the shower. I leave my face bare and go to sleep. Best to do this at night. You don’t want to dermaplan and then put on makeup or heavy products or be outside sweating.
Thank you you’ve changed my skin.
I bought a couple single blade razors just to try it out and I really like how smooth my face feels. I also enjoy looking in the mirror and not seeing the light glint off my peach fuzz lol.
I bought the skinfix moisturizer because you promoted it and it broke me out and clogged my pores which was so shocking and sucked! I have dry sensitive acne prone skin and it was almost immediately I saw the clogged pores 😩 but I’m sold on this versed shaver!!
Wait...i can just cover my face hair with mascara, I could have a beard! This is amazing
I came looking this specific video, I just tried this for the first time with the cheapo disposable ones, and wondered for how many times you can use them before they get too dull, like any disposable razor. It didn't do a bad job, wasn't too scratchy.
"They go dull mid face"
Me and my Dollarama blade that looks the same: Wow... And I was complaining I can only use those 3 times for my legs before they go dull lol

thank you dear for your information again love you ❣️❣️❣️
How often should you dermaplane?
I'm super prone to skin clogging and wanna know how often I should do it, side note, I use the ordinary peeling solution once a week
Some dermatologist says one should use some sort of oil before shaving and also never go over the same area twice, but you tell us to do it on dry skin and it seems like you’re kind of going over the same area a few times. Why is that? :)
Haven't you been using IPL kenzzi device on your face . If no why ?
