Recently had a holiday in Greece (could say GREASE) & asked for NO OIL at every meal. The hosts thought I was insane 🤣🤣🤣 but they accommodated me. Survived on steamed greens, beans, potatoes & wonderful oil-free salads, beautiful fresh fruit.

I'm gonna comment before I watch the video. Best hacks for losing weight? Get the oil completely out of your diet, and eat LOTS more intact roots and nonstarchy veggies.

To add to the spices sticking on the roasting method: my trick is to roast the dry veggies for a few minutes until they begin to soften. When they soften they start to release some water naturally which I use as an opportunity to add my spices then so they stick. Works perfectly!

For roosting just get a pan with a lid, or cover with foil. It works really well for most things. The steam keeps the veggies moist enough and they still get the roasty goodness. And there's things I like to do like cook sweet potatoes and vegetables together and the syrup coats the veggies and makes them moist.

Well I'm not salt, oil, or sugar free, however over the last year I have gone completely plant based and cut down on all three by at least 85%. I just want to say I really appreciate your guy's format and basics as someone who's young because all the small things really do just confuse people my age. We get told eat less fat but enough, less carbs but enough constantly and it gets us nowhere. But understanding that we need all categories (carbs, fats, proteins, vitamins), just to varying amounts is the most effective way to diet.

I’m super guilty of being addicted to oil and salt. I’m a devoted vegan but it just means I don’t eat animals, it doesn’t mean I eat healthy. Your recipes and suggestions are easy to follow and have broadened my scope of nutrition. I love your shirts, they’re hilarious. Can’t wait to see the baby Dill wearing one.

Rolling up on my sixth year vegan. Got shot of the sugar and oil in May this year (was already pretty low salt and oil, but been trying to really get them close to zeto) have lost around 8kg (wasn't super heavy to start with) but more importantly plain feel better without the sugar highs and crashes.
Love the content and energy you guys have.

Your videos are the best. You have helped me so much- I thought you were wrong about sauteing onions before I saw you do it. I saute this way all time now- oil free is super for lowering cholesterol. It works, as well as no meat, or dairy. I feel so much healthier now. Thank you so much for being here for us. You & Reb are fantastic!!!!. God bless you from grandma Katie in Oregon

Oh my heck do I agree that oil is disgusting to clean up after!!! I hand wash our dishes and we recently had friends stay a week with us. So we bought breakfast things they like to eat and it just reminded me how much easier it is to clean up after!
I also have stainless steel pots and pans and a non stick electric covered huge pan that I often use as a griddle.
I don't like silpats either but I do love my copper sheet pan liners. My falafels don't stick at all and are easily turned over and removed. When I do use parchment paper, if it's not gotten too messy I save the used parchment to make fire starters! (TP tube, used crayon rolled up in dryer lint stuffed into the tube, roll the tube with used parchment paper and twist opposite ends like a hard candy. Viola! Firestarter for camping or burning!)
    Loving you're channel! ❤️

Hi Brenda! We might have to try the copper sheet pan liners out! Love the idea of reusing the parchment to make fire starters. Thanks for watching and the great comment!

I use the silicone mats because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Sometimes the liquid burns on the mats and I have to soak them, then I don’t have to scrub very much. I will get some parchment paper.

It's great to see this practical advice from two people who do this every day. You have a talent for keeping it straightforward and feeling achievable, which helps. I liked your hints for the more useful types of frying pan or griddle. Maybe you could heat your frypan and put it on top of your pancake on the griddle to make a panini press. You can also use a warm frypan to iron clothes, endless uses. :-)

Using hot water instead of cold for saute also helps keep pan warpage from happening. Wondering what I mean? Put your (cheap) hot cookie sheet in the sink and turn on the cold water. Instant warp...no bueno for good cooking pans.

What is your response to people say that using oil helps "bloom" your spices so they have more intense flavor?

    • @WellYourWorld
      @WellYourWorld  Рік тому +1

Well, my response to people would be that they can go on doing/believing whatever they want. I don't care and I have no desire to change them.
But my personal thoughts that I would not say are these: who cares. Bloom or no bloom, I can make the food taste delicious without oil. And there are many other benefits of avoiding the oil that are far more important to me than any kind of bloom.

Love your site - have never been healthier since going oil & sugar free whole plant food based diet - & like yourselves I use a little salt dependent on the dish we cook - dropped 13kg, my cholesterol count went from 7.1 down to 4.9 & would have been lower but my good cholesterol read ended up being higher vs the standard guideline (good stuff) & all inflammatory markers were excellent - your recipes, advice & videos are brilliant & certainly helped me on my journey - it was certainly a challenge at first & your site - the manner in which you guys provide the information & how you present the info’ in your videos makes it a joy to watch & simplifies the whole process - love your work & thank you, cheers,
