    Hey,
    Thanks for the great test and well illustrated documentation of the air currents created by the mra deflector I have a 21 FJR and the stock windshield was inadequate I am 5'10 , I tried the touring screen and it was fine until I instaled the heli bar riser 2in up an 3 back plate.. now the my quiet zone moved again..from what I have read its either cal scientific or v stream..had one on my 16vstram1000..(Vstream)not impressed the mra seems the best choice hope I can find the same kit with the trial clip on mode so I can feel good about it before I drill the polycarbonate..by the way the givi airstream on the vstram after some 4 mill washers best wind shield on any bike ever! You can wisper behind it @ 65mph !!
    Thanks I really appreciate the time you took to make this video it helped me alot !..

    Looks like it works pretty good , I just bought a Shoei Neotec 2 helmet and that has helped cut down noise quite a bit

      It worked very well for me. I had a Neotec 1 and liked it very much except for the weight - it seemed pretty heavy to me. I imagine the Neotec 2 is improved.

    Thank you for the informative video. Just figured it out... your voice.... Chet Atkins! You may have been told that before. I ordered the Chinese ripoff of this bolt on windscreen about a hundred bucks less. Didn't come yet but I'm glad I did. Ride safe.

    Thanks for posting this. Excellent tutorial and product testing. Too funny, I had just bought a V Stream from National Cycle as well for my 2021 Honda CB500X. I'm short so it was better than the oem and did the trick for me. Then I installed a Corbin seat and am now sitting higher and getting pelted by bugs and air again. Just bought the clip on version of this... 🤞

      That is funny. Life is full of tradeoffs. I just ordered the sport (shorter) vstream in the hope of getting more air into the vents of my helmet in the hot days of summer and, I'm sure, this will entail more bugs on my visor.

      @@dnlgrhmSo true. Well at least my ass isn't hurting while I'm getting pelted in the head 🪰🐝🦗 anymore. I live in Florida so the joys of the bug blast are a good 6 months out of the year. I super hate when they smack right on my goggles in front of my eyes. My Vstream is the mid height version. Kind of wish I had ordered the tallest one now. MRA seems to be a quality product from what I've reviewed. Hope your new set up works out for you.

    Thanks. I'm considerign a purchase. The kawasaki vulcan 650's large windshield to way too low! I need at least 5-6 inches additional height [or a different windscreen].

    Hey Daniel.. Im planning on fitting one to the screen on my CanAm Spyder (I bought the Blueridge screen for my Daytona - but the wind blasts me straight into my face..) Was the Xcreen hard to fit.. My screen measures just over 11" across the top edge.. Will it fit my "bike" ??

    • @dnlgrhm
      @dnlgrhm  4 роки тому +1

      The X-Creen Tour is, as best I recall, about 15" across and 6" high, so it may be too big. There is also a smaller X-Creen Sport that might fit. I thought the installation was easy once I figured out where I wanted it. I did the bolt on install that required drilling a couple of holes in my windscreen. There is also a clamp on install that is even simpler but requires an extra clamp on kit and isn't, IMHO, quite as neat an install. Here is a link to Twisted Throttle video describing both the Tour and Sport models: ua-cam.com/video/puBaRmXSc_A/v-deo.html.

    i have the same one, but i got major buffeting on a vstrom. cant get it right. i try a givi airflow system soon. the mra does help at lower speed though. 80 kmph is the max.

    • @dnlgrhm
      @dnlgrhm  5 років тому

      I never tried it on the vstream I had for the FJR, just the oem windscreen and never went above 70 mph when testing it. Interestingly, I never need it with the vstream on my FJ-09 since the flow is smooth at the speeds I ride (up to 80). Good luck with the givi.

    I was contemplating on what to buy , between the MRA X-Creen winshield extender or the whole madstad windshield set up, any thoughts

    • @dnlgrhm
      @dnlgrhm  3 роки тому

      I've no experience with the madstad so I can't compare them except to note that the MRA on the oem screen is cheaper.

    If wind changes which it does when riding N,S,E or West the X Creen surely will not compensate so it the item still a good purchase?

    • @dnlgrhm
      @dnlgrhm  6 років тому

      If you're heading north at 60 mph and the wind is from the south at 10 mph then the apparent wind is still from the north at 50 mph so you're fine. The worst case would be when the wind is from a 90 degree angle, say from the east, at 10 mph but then the apparent wind would still be from around 350 degrees or 10 degrees east of north. The slower you're moving and the faster the wind, the more you would notice it coming from the side but it never bothered me. The same thing, of course, would be true of any windscreen.

    • @johnrocker2986
      @johnrocker2986 6 років тому

      Yes your right, I was trying to say one day my screen appears quiet and life's a joy, next day the screen is noisy and the rides a pain is their an answer? My view is moving wind is very different to still air and trying to adjust airblade angles or screen angles never leaves the rider happy.

    My eyes water bad at high speeds with stock windshield. Do you think the wind coming between the stock windshield and MRA X-creen will effect my eyes or is it silent and still air?

    • @dnlgrhm
      @dnlgrhm  6 років тому +1

      I wouldn't call it silent and still but it was a significant improvement for me over the stock windshield.

      Daniel Graham Thanks for the vid. Only FJR and MRA on UA-cam I could find. Hopefully it works when I buy it. I escort funerals and wear the standard white and black helment with sunglasses and wind is Horrible. Noise and eyes water. Just hope that wind coming from between the shields won't effect me what do you think. I'm 5-11 with 32 inch inseam.

    • @dnlgrhm
      @dnlgrhm  6 років тому +2

      I'm 6' with 32" inseam so pretty close to the same. Adjusting the position, angle and gap is critical. I got the best result for myself with a fairly small gap (smaller than the one shown in the video) and the MRA parallel to the windscreen. The idea of the MRA is not so much to raise the height of the screen as to encourage the flow of air to move upward over your head. My MRA came with the option of clamp mount or permanent (holes in the windscreen) mount. I tried the clamps first with pieces of yarn taped to the windscreen until I was pretty sure of the position I wanted and only then bored the holes for the permanent mount.

    There aren't turbolences on windscreen attach zone?

    • @dnlgrhm
      @dnlgrhm  5 років тому

      My impression is that a turbulence anywhere along the windscreen will persist past the edge.
