I always enjoy that you constantly put out constructive criticism, even when you don’t agree with them.
I really think that the way Alex tackles these people should genuinely be the norm for react content, as he combines comedy with genuine advice and respect for the people. Always refreshing to watch! 🥰

i really admire (and i've seen it a lot in your videos) but your empathy for people that other people would just take the piss out off is commendable, you don't necessarily like them but you still show them compassion and empathy and in the world that is a thing that not many people have.

I was expecting a classic ImAlex video of light hearted ‘savagery’, reactions, laughing and cheeky comments… how wrong I was.
I’m not one to comment on vids, but I think Alex spoke amazingly in this video and he shared a super important and positive message. Social media is a truly mental and toxic place and the lengths people are going to make it/make money is insane.
Great video Alex, if you do see this, thank you for the entertainment and in the least condescending way, you seem a lot more mature lately.

i really appreciate how alex doesnt misgender elphaba despite the hate. it doesnt matter if you respect or support them, trans rights shouldnt be something that can be taken away..im not good at explaining what i mean but misgendering someone when they do something you dont like is stupid and honestly just makes you a bad person as well. so i like how alex doesnt misgender as ive seen alot of people do it since they dont like her.
Same. I get why people don't want to respect people's pronouns when they have done something bad, but at this point it has nothing to do with the person and what they have done and is down to the person misgendering them. Like, it really shows the real you if the first thing someone thinks about is misgendering someone when they've done something wrong and I will stand by that.

As someone who works in mental health, I wouldnt be surprised if Elphaba has an undiagnosed Personality Disorder. She does genuine need therapy and to got off the internet
Ngl highly doubt your work in mental health is any serious capacity or you would understand the massive issues with suggesting diagnosis for strangers u haven’t assessed. Which is highly frowned upon in healthcare…
That's what I was wondering, but it's not our place to diagnose. We can only hope she will get some help, if needed and be in a better place. I just see a tortured person when I see these lives, I mean mental health wise, and I hope she's not stuck in a cycle.
@@matthewmcinnes7253there are more mental health jobs than those that involve diagnosis. I worked in suicide crisis for 7 years I didn't diagnose people, I just helped make sure people were safe and had the things they needed in crisis moments and access to hospitals and other mental health professionals that could diagnose and medicate. So just because someone says they work in mental health doesn't mean they are a therapist.

She really reminds me of Amy from Amy's Baking Company from Kitchen Nightmares because they both can't keep their noses out of online drama and hate and always think they are the victims and are always in the right. And I do understand the feeling of wanting to have the last word and wanting to be right all the time, but it is not realistic. Elphaba has basically put herself in the position of being laughed at by the public when she had ample time to correct her ways and become a better person, but it seems everyday she just gets even worse. There's a new thing out about Elphaba every other week it seems, and while cyberbullying is horrific and can be incredibly detrimental to your mental health, in this case she brought this all on herself. If she had just taken a break to collect her thoughts and move on, she wouldn't be ranting and raving about how tiktok has ruined her life. I have no respect for someone who stream their entire lives.
This is going to sound really harsh, and I totally understand Elphaba is a vulnerable person, and honestly I don't know that much about her, but I don't believe this breakdown or whatever is genuine. I do believe she has mental illness(es), and I'm sure they make life incredibly difficult, but in this case I think the breakdown seems very orchestrated. Saying that, I think it's only a matter of time before this stuff actually gets to her and causes something more real.

Elphaba needs to get offline for a while. Get therapy, get a 9-5, and not stay chronically online. For herself, she needs to get offline.
I agree but I think she’s done too much damage by putting so much online that it’ll be hard for her to actually get employed and stay employed. She’s just going to experience loads of negativity when she’s offline and in an ordinary job too

I don't understand why her mother (who has been on tiktok live before and clearly knows what her daughter's doing) doesn't try to deter her child from ruining her life before it's even begun. She could at least be cutting off the social media usage and taking Elphaba to therapy. I get that she's 19 but there's a clear level of neglect there. Reminds me of the story from an ex classmate about how Elpha would be sent to school with nits in her hair and the parents didnt deal with it

I find the elphaba situation tough because yes she's put herself in situations that are inexcusable and are wrong but I do feel she hasn't had, like you said, someone actually guide her and tell her that she needs to stop. She has had lots of people take advantage and use her for clout. She sees ££ and doesn't see that it's not healthy. She needs to step back from that platform and move on into real life and into the real world. It's hard to watch.

Honestly, she truly does need sectioned, for her own safety. Due to the way she is (from what we've seen online) I don't think she would be able to willingly get the help herself in outpatient or private therapy
as someone who works in mental health its actually notoriously difficult to get someone sectioned. Ive had clients in the midst of a full psychotic episode- ten times worse than how Elph is presenting and an actual danger to themselves and others - who still couldnt get sectioned. Unfortunately you wont get sectioned because you refuse to turn off your phone

Thanks for not misgendering Elphaba Alex. Im not a fan of hers i dont particularly like her, but it means a lot as a trans person to see other creators being humane and seperating trans issues from whatever Elphaba is doing. Hopefully she gets it together.
