Still can't get over that this master of the instrument from one of the best metal bands ever will sit in front on the camera and give the best and easily understandable lessons for free. Kiko fucking rules
Your one of the most inspiring musicians, there has been in a long time... Neil Peart, Jaco Pastorius, Randy Rhoads, Billy Sheehan and Kiko Loureiro.... 🤘 I listen to open source everyday on the way to work to start my day... If you ever need a bass player, drummer or guitar player... I’m two hours from Nashville... Ha!
I've been playing for years now, with zero advancement, and finally I realize that Music Theory is actually a very usefull tool to understand, and to create music, and this videos had really helped to this process; I will always sincerely express gratitude to Kiko for being this accesible, please continue with this theory series. and a Q & A, What was your level of participation in the temple of shadows álbum, I feel that this is a really masterpiece, so I want to Know, wich parts did you compose? Lyrics, lead guitar only? Or maybe the powerfull acoustic intro from the shadow hunter perhaps?. Saludos desde México.
not only is kiko a gifted musician and guitar god, his knowledge and insight into teaching each concept is unparallel. He answers the reasoning behind why music theory exists and how it helps in making music, and not just what it is.
Kiko! I am soo freaking impressed with you man. It is soo great to see a metal guy showing such a different side to the profession. You got me glued to you tube every time I get a notification about any of your videos. I can go on and on talking about the great deal of admiration I have, but I don't think you, being the simple/humble guy you are, would appreciate that. So I will refrain. But I will say, weirdly enough, all my frustrations for having played guitar and yet never really learned about music, kind of dissappear when I watch your videos. In fact, I get more and more fascinated with music when I see your videos and learned about your story. So all I have to say is obrigado my friend, please keep this alive!
Kiko is as wonderful a teacher as he is a player. His understanding of music and how it works makes him a superior guitar teacher. Great clarity because he just makes perfect sense when it comes to how it works on the fretboard. Excellent lesson.
I really enjoyed the video. This video was the best music theory lesson video l’ve ever seen. It was easy to understand and fun to watch. I would be grateful if you could make a video about music theory again. Thank you so much for making such a useful video.
Really great video tutorial. I think what I enjoyed the most is how excited Kiko looks every time he realizes how cool is the idea he´s showing us. He´s actually happy about the theory he´s unveiling to us. Thanks for that.
Awesome video. Now let’s see this as a series of videos connecting all the other intervals. Interval visualization has become very popular by players like Tom Quayle, Jack Gardiner, and others, but is this the best way to visualize the fretboard?
Kiko!! I absolutely love your “lessons” because you make it relatable!! AND!! And we can see how much you enjoy the subject by the joy on your face!!! You’ve also made me realize that I know more theory than I thought.. I may not know all the terminology but I definitely know the sounds and patterns!! THANK YOU soo much for these!!
Fala Kiko!
You should change topic of the video to "octave /interval idea studying" or something for others can found this video easily. Very helpful lesson. Thanks a lot.
Thanks Kiko for taking the time to share your knowledge. Super awesome to hear a pro musician break down their thinking and show practical applications.
Grazie 1000 Kiko. Bellissimo video. Bellissima spiegazione. Ciao Maestro.👍👏👋 Saluti dall'Italia.
Hey Kiko! I love your videos so much, they are very useful and they always help me to find motivation. Could you please show us the way you play standing? It’s very uncomfortable for me and I think I do something wrong with my hands. I’m looking forward to seeing you with Megadeth in Russia!
When I started music theory classes it was like my day in algebra all of a sudden I knew nothing I didn’t know anything about it and I went all my god that’s the dumb guys I’ll never get through it but I kept at it and I was lost for several weeks and then finally all of a sudden one day we were doing chords notes and all music theory! And all of a sudden I don’t know what it was that I understood but all of a sudden I’ll new with clarity what I was doing and the next thing you know I fell in love with music theory and I did a lot of it and I pursued it and found out it was not that bad. Thanks Kinko I really enjoy seeing you watching you play watching you are show me things that I don’t know because, u young enough to have a heavy metal 🤘🏻 lessons and I am from the day of bar heavy rock ‘n’ roll so anyway thank you sir
kiko you are great. i am a guitar teacher for 20 years. i was learning with many teachers. but i hope that i was learnd from you. great videos keep show us your style of playing the guitar. thank you.
With Me, Always With You".
Yeah, Kiko! All your tips and lessons are very practical and clear. When I picked an electric guitar again after many years of break, your channel has been very helpful for me to get my technique back and maybe even better than before. Big thanks and God bless.
I love how easy he explains this. What model is that Ibanez? THAT is a style I have been wanting with the burl top and that maple fretboard. I am really digging the look of it. I looks like a comfortable playing guitar!
If there is a good moment in history to be alive must be this one. I can't believe I'm taking music theory classes with the guitar lead of my favorite band. OMG 🤯 if this is a dream please don't wake me up!
Very Impressive enjoyable lesson Kiko! Clear practical useful advice for all levels. I like how you used " Reflective " improvising today! Thank you for clean tone sound feedback, really dig the Kiko 200 series guitars, reallly like the one you played today and the Red on Black👍( incredible selections) many thanks for making these video clips, always a pleasure to watch & learn. Be safe & stay warm!! Boa noite 🖤Kris IL 💥🦋💥
Amazing Kiko, thank you so much. Loved the approach of explaining one concepto and then doing a complete demo and ideas to apply. Please keep the lessons coming
Love you Kiko, I will start on the octave great idea. Another good exercise is memorizing all the e/f and b/c half steps on the fret board really help me out on memorizing the fret board. Much Love from the USA
Beautifully explained as always Kiko. If you see this comment, I'd like to request you to make a series of videos on chords. 1) How to find chords of a song 2) How to find intermediate chords (in between chords) to make the song more appealing. When I hear a song, there are so many different chords used but my problem is to find those chords.
That's very cool . Sometime when composing I use the octave to spice up a chord progression trying it in different places to get the mood as to not sound typical. Also Kiko has such perfect hand position it's much easier to see exactly what he plays versus some other tutorials. Txs Kiko
Great job Kiko! Thank you for reminding me, about this. You are truly an inspiration, and great teacher. I get so much out of your videos, I enjoy them all.
Thank you so much! I know there are many info in the i-net, but could you do a video where you can show which chords use to play over 7 scales or even more? It's good for beginners too i think.
Intervals was always pretty gibberish to me and it never clicked but until you explained i was like ohhhhh. thank you so much kiko for everything really!!
Ooooow u slipped “Immigrant Song “, passed me….so cool! We use to play that back in the day. I remember putting on the record player, and listening and learning that cool, cool song.our drummer sang that song.take care sir and thank you for the demo.
big thanks from Thailand i've seen a lot of similar contents but maybe i'm english speaker i could understand just few of them but you are the best advisor
Very nice Kiko very precise I can tell you love music and you love teaching music and you're so blessed to be able to be in a band that you are and as good as you are all right brother keep up the good work
Ofcourse theorical knowledge is very valuable. But as you implied, we create music with our heart and feelings it is not just the formulized numbers or rules. I think many of guitar players or musicians feeling releived, inspired and free when they see your approach. In my opinion we will be able to learn much more useful music theory with this looking. At the end of the day we all want to create some music not the coding a software. Thank you very much for your sharings as a very succesful guitar player. Please continue to share your experiences with us, greetings :)
always informative. I feel I moved up a notch in my playing just by watching this video.. thanks a lot man. Is somewhere over the rainbow I like that...
Kiko ✌️ awesome Octaves! Like the safe places comment and how you instructed the use of from metal, blues & jazz. My teacher would give me octave tests to assess my knowledge of the fretboard. Working the octaves does make for great tension, composing and improvisation. Thanks stay Covid free 🤘✌️🏴🇦🇺
He needs to tell everyone one of the hardest techniques is the octave trill ! Requires all 4 fingers at once!! Then you’ll appreciate what I play too ! Because I get zero acknowledgment for being good at my craft!! Most people get their little egos hurt if a common guy not in a band can play just as good as a professional!!! 1 Billion ideas and possibilities shared in a single 14 minute video... and only based on the octave. Brilliant stuff Kiko, thank you for sharing!
Every time I see a new video, I say : Kiko is not only an E.T. guitar player, but an amazing teacher also. That's really difficult . Supercongrats!
Its an honor that A Legend is taking his time to teach us guitar.
Thank you Kiko
Still can't get over that this master of the instrument from one of the best metal bands ever will sit in front on the camera and give the best and easily understandable lessons for free. Kiko fucking rules

Very vivid and informatove. Finally I understand the music theory after 18 yrs of playing guitar with very slow progress. 🎸😂
Thanks for the video.😊 👍
You’re a natural teacher Kiko :) I hope you release a guitar lesson video about theory etc and I would gladly pay for it :)
11:34 sounded like the intro of "Tender Surrender" by Steve Vai :)
Ótima aula, como sempre!
Really great video tutorial. I think what I enjoyed the most is how excited Kiko looks every time he realizes how cool is the idea he´s showing us. He´s actually happy about the theory he´s unveiling to us. Thanks for that.

You really rekindled my love for 'Deth and my guitar, Kiko. Thanks.

Amazing Kiko, thank you so much. Loved the approach of explaining one concepto and then doing a complete demo and ideas to apply. Please keep the lessons coming
This guy makes better solos using only one note than I would ever play using all of them.
Obrigado pelas dicas. Um abraço de Portugal
Great stuff, Kiko. Simple concepts applied in an inspiring and creative way! Thanks!
Thanks so much. I have started playing again after at least 20 years . Your playing and teaching is inspirational. !
Kiko thnx a lot, to simple, but so interesting and so useful!
Hey Kiko! It would be a really cool video if you would put on a jam track and just improvise! Thanks for the content 🤘
Agree just plug in & play...👍💥
This is gold! Kiko, please, pleeeeassse can you do one for each interval? That would be just amazing.
I found it both interesting and exciting... Thank you!
Love watching these videos!! Everytime Kiko plays a sick riff, he cant help but smile!! which in turn makes me smile!!! LMAO!! LEGEND!!! 😁
Love you Kiko, I will start on the octave great idea. Another good exercise is memorizing all the e/f and b/c half steps on the fret board really help me out on memorizing the fret board. Much Love from the USA

Thank you, Kiko! Just starting with soloing and phrasing over chords, this will help.
It seems so easy when you explain, genius!

At which point the noise gate can mess with the solo?
Best teacher on the world
What I really like about drop D or other dropped tunings is the octaves can be played with one finger..
Yes a lot of professional sounding guitarist aren’t in a band because they’re met with the statement you’re too good for me to play with I’ll feel insecure!! Double dose of being lame and why you’re not progressing!!! That’s the first step to being a professional!! Never get discouraged and believe in yourself when others don’t!!
