The freaking megadeth guitarist is a youtuber, I can't explain the words of how amazed and lucky i feel to have him talk to us
IKR and he takes time to do this for us, damn
Shay the internet is awesome sometimes
He's been teaching stuff for decades, you can find his old vhs guitar videos here in youtube. Truly a great guy.
he's a brazilian god
Check out his Solo Albums :D And Old Angra Albums! :D
"play anything, just a b minor arpeggio, something like this" - *plays some sick melodic stuff that I actually repeated 5 times because it sounded so awesome*
@Janusz Reguła *chords*
b careful that arpeggio could be a gateway to neo classical metal
@Janusz Reguła
Kiko: "Here's a (fairly) easy way to practice for endurance..."
Janusz Regula: "Learn scales."
Kiko: "Scales are necessary, but tedious to repeat. Why not let players try this interesting and..."
Janusz Regula: "LEARN SCALES!"
Kiko: "You should try this exercise. It might help you get rid of some tension and increase endurance."
@Janusz Reguła
I get the impression that you missed the point of Jakob's comment.
ah so that is how to play much of the main riff for Tornado of Souls tons of harmonics! Relaxed playing fast love it.
yeah 4:42 is exactly my face when I see you play the guitar
I guess that’s very important. I try too hard when I practice, Kiko is completely relaxed. That’s the secret. Also brushing the strings when you practice with a pick. Be very gentle, less picking more brushing feeling in your picking hand.
How amazing is that one of the greatest guitarists on the planet is doing UA-cam videos? He doesn't do it for money but just because he loves to teach and to Interact with fans
Hope you get to 1 million subs. Just over 300k now
Just over 525k now, 2 years later! Half way there!
He comes up with an exercise, but he ends up giving sooo many ideas on how to combine notes. I love that :D, I feel extremely inspired everytime I watch his videos.
This man deserves every bit of success he's earned. There is a LOT of practicing behind that tremendous technique he has. He's the Latin Guthrie Govan.
I really love what you've done with this channel. Never would I have thought I could learn directly on a regular basis from megadeth's lead guitarist. Hats off to you Kiko.
It's nice to see someone in your position go out of their way to help others learn. Thank you!
"I know it doesn't sound great"
still sounds amazing
Kiko giving away all his tips, that’s because he has like 1000 of them. This guy is amazing
Please, tell us like relax the right hand with some exercise...
Yes, I also wanted to know it. I actually left a comment on Kiko's last video to know, how to relax the right picking hand, shoulder, back etc.
Take a look at Ben Eller’s UA-cam channel. He’s got a video on reducing picking hand/arm tension.
@@erikhelkimo Thank you Erik! I'll watch it now
Ask rick graham? Haha
The way to do the same thing is to pick, but immediately rest your pick on the string you just plucked. Try it out. Instead of letting the string ring out, almost mute it with your pick as soon as you pluck it. That will train you again in minimal effort on the picking hand.
My god, this has solved so many questions I had about your technique! Good times to live!
Great technical lesson! Needed it 20 years ago 😅😅
Dave Wright right on
So true. As my left hand burns in pain and my fingers stop moving altogether.
Keith W as I watch my guitar go up in flames from my pure rage after my hands lock up for the last time.
Absolutely love the tips kiko!
Awesome shirt Kiko! Love it !!!
Thanks for the great content lately Kiko !
Nice advice and exercice! Thank you Kiko.
Bravo !!! Direto ao ponto !!!
Parabéns Kiko vc é o melhor
Love your playing since your early Angra days! It's amazing to get to hear directly from you your practicing tips! Many thanks and keep up the good work!
Gostei muito da dica, Kiko! Obrigado!

Thanks Kiko! Great exercise!
That's something I've always noticed about you, amd how efficient your picking and fretting hands are. Great excercise, thank you!
great tutorial as always, another great approach! thanks for sharing
I love your instructional video!! I bought it a few years back!
Hi Kiko, I have subscribed to your channel. I've rarely seen an artist like you so involved with the fans and taking into account their comments, and showing stuff like that. I play a bit of guitar for a long time now but you really opened my mind to other way to see the neck, how the notes fit together and with the harmony. Thanks and greets from Paris (France).
It’s a great idea to have such a well accomplished guitarist like yourself to create a UA-cam channel. We are reaping the benefits because of these great lessons and your consistency in uploads. All the best on channel growth Kiko! Thanks for the lessons!

Such a simple concept, simply explained and demonstrated. Brilliant!!!
Excelente dica, um tesouro

Mto boa essa ideia de exercício. Show de bola.
Abraços e bends

THANK YOU for sharing this! I always practice with minimal effort, but this gave me another approach to explore!
I know this vid is just over a year old but wanted to say thanks, Kiko! This exercise has helped immensely. :)
Man, I'm doing this for years, but never thought about it! Amazing way of talk about this subject!
Thanks a lot for all your advices Kiko! I practice many of your exercises every day and saw great results :)
Great lesson. Thankyou for this
Obrigado e sucesso! \m/
Kiko is the best!!! This channel brings awesome interation to other guitar players!!! Very Nice!!!
Love those exercises, really helps to improve. I'd love to see some right hand exercises, your picking technique seems very relaxed and precise!
Fantástico kikao! Excelente exercício
You are truly an inspiration! One of the best guitarists that the world has ever seen, and Dave is extremely fortunate to have you!!!
I like it. I always wondered how some guys could be so fluid with their scale runs and I see now that sometime “less is more”. Gracias, Kiko!
The minimal effort exercise Mustaine should know
@BlackMetalTroy322 Skumshow Dave had to relearn guitar after a pinched nerve so yeah he has to try a little harder on some stuff... smh
@BlackMetalTroy322 Skumshow Dave will never be defeated. Not even cancer can take Dave out. Pinched nerves? Fuck it. Cancer? Beat it. Addiction? Clean and sober.
Dave is an inspiration.
Melty Boys His neck and spinal injuries also affected his vocals
@@krishdutta5466 correct, but he troops on like the badass he is
Mustaine plays stuff while singing that I have a hard time just playing without trying to sing at all, so yeah, whatever...
Kiko, thank you so much for this. I have been trying so long to have a soft touch. I tend to muscle the guitar, I'm always tense and it has really gotten me stuck. I'm not progressing farther, and that's why. You explained it and demonstrated it so well. Thank you thank you thank you.
Thank you Kiko for sharing this wonderful tip with us. I am just a beginner guitarist and been looking to step up my game. This really helps.
Muito obrigado Kiko!!
Thank you for this lesson Kiko! After one day with this, I broke through my technique plateau (after years!!) and making huge progress again. This is pure gold.
Thank you Kiko!!! You're the best!!!
Thank you ! This is a really good video !! Love from france
"It doesn't sound great, I know..."
But... But it does sound great. This is one of my favorite things to do with moderate to high gain.
Thanks for the info, I forget that this is great for removing tension
Great as always!
Thank you Kiko, I always liked how your playing looks so relax, hope this will help me :D
Dude you are just a master crack o playing and all i can see is how humble and accurate you are playing and making feel comfortable others with your lesson... man congrats keep on that way and grow as musician and person!!! Cheers from spain!!!!
Great exercise Kiko. I've been doing this for years. in fact was doing it last night with my quickest playing to get even quicker, then applied that little extra pressure for good notes. It really works.
Oh, I have admit that is one of the greatest discovery I've made. How hard you press the string against fret is actually really important and what I've noticed this excercise also helps a lot with a tone clarity. Thank You so much for such a great and smart advice!
Thanks Kiko! It helped a lot! I got this feeling whenever I play faster, but don’t know what actually happened. Now you explain it clearly!
Your exercice work on bass too. Amazing!!!!
Vc faz a diferença Aki no UA-cam! Abraços e sucesso brother!
Pretty sure your the first really good player that makes consistent lessons, THANKS!!
i love you kiko ;) i'd like a video every week with a different kind of Exercises the best for you for improve in: alternate picking, sweep pick, legato, tapping.. every week it will be awesome! thanks Kiko again !
Kiko you sir are amazing!! Dave was lucky to get you.. I’ll be seeing you rock out in June in Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
Crucial lesson for playing with any kind of speed and accuracy... Love this guys technique and playing.
Vc merece o Mundo guitarristico dr inscritos!
Excelente Kiko
Since you are so good still you ask for a suggestions from everyone. And I salute you for that. Because I do that as well.... there are lots of very young very good guitarist on both classical and rock .... and those kids amazes me every time. By the way this is great lesson for sure I will add this in my warm up exercises. For as long as we live we don’t stop learning .... great. Thanks for this Kiko. You’re a phenomenal guitarist.
Great lesson, looking forward to trying this in my practice
Valeu !
Show d+!!!
Excelente!! Muito obrigado pela dica!
thank you so much Kiko!!
Excellent exercise, Kiko! This explains it all! It's very noticeable while you're playing. Specially your right hand. Thanks for sharing your tricks!
Greetings from Dominican Republic 🍻
This is super useful. I have struggled with tendonitis in my fretting arm for years. Thanks, Kiko!
Gracias! What a great exercise! Would not have ever thought of this as a good exercise! I think it might help with also learning/memorizing scales, positions and shapes too!
I would literally watch any video of you with a guitar. Definitely going to try this one out
Baita dica, Kiko! 👏
Love you Kiko
How to relax the right hand like yours while doing fast picking stuffs ? ?
very subtly his pinky (small end finger) is anchored onto the guitar; some players anchor on the bridge area...minimise arm movement and work out an anchor method that suits...
@@niallio77 Very informative thanks.... but I am more of a arm picker so even if I mount my pinky on the guitar the pinky finger moves along with wrist... How can I get rid of it?
@@kusangtamang846 ok, put your hand to your laptop screen and cover his picking hand/wrist area - now take note of how much his elbow moves - it doesn't (barely). You need to practice - repetitively for a few weeks at least. The fast picking stuff is called alternate picking and it is impossible to do in a controlled manner without an anchor.
@@kusangtamang846 I haven't seen you play, so keep that in mind, but you generaly don't pick from the arm/elbow or shoulder. You need to learn to use your fingers(That are holding the pick) and the wrist.
@@Sniperfire24 Here's my UA-cam channel link, check my cover of dream theater's "breaking all illusions ", you'll see my arm picking thing... Very inefficient

Man I have never taken lesson of guitar, until now. Thanks kiko such an amazing guy
