@@seanfagan Great vid, really helpful... just curious how long you run each section for, does the timing of the clips match the length of each 'round'?
I guess the fact that it says 'train alongside makes it a bit of a dumb question lol. Guess I could rephrase it to; do you ever stretch out each section for a longer session, and how much is shadow boxing a part of your preperation for a fight? Got a tournament end of month and rather limited sparring time, so hoping plenty of this kind of stuff will supplement it enough.
@@notmyname3681 Great question! I typically have my shadowboxing sessions range anywhere from 10-30 minutes depending on the day. In regards to fight prep, I shadowbox a TON because I love the freedom to be creative and flow while also visualizing my opponent on fight night. I'd definitely recommend it!
There’s a TON of shadow boxing workouts for boxing on UA-cam, but nearly ZERO specific to Muay Thai... so I went ahead and made one 🔥 If you enjoy this type of video workout be sure to let me know so I can continue making more!! 👊🙏
really amazing and helps a lot. love the technique and descriptions used throughout your workout. would love to see an audio shadow boxing workout/ audio drill workout from you.
@@seanfagan thanks man. it would be really amazing. I am currently a beginner in Muay Thai as I had started a year ago. I would love an audio workout where you could potentially guide us on what to do for eg: jab cross round house kick, jab elbow knee, etc which could help a lot with forming combos as well as learning new ways to improve my shadow boxing/heavy bag drills
That is awesome man! Tienes nombre latino así que imagino que hablas español: sigue haciéndolo. Mi padre jugaba a las espadas conmigo de niño y es uno de los mejores recuerdos que tengo de él.
This is a really important video, I think, because so many people take shadowboxing for granted, like "I'll just pretend there's a dude across from me and I'll whip his ass." You show in this video that there's a lot more nuance to it than that. Great stuff, Sean.
been practising martial arts for over 40 years had a lot of illness over the past few years and got out of the game, i recently moved to the Philippines' but can't find any suitable training with the limits my health places on me but i really enjoyed this work out i was quite surprised how flexible i still am considering i haven't trained for over 5 years, look forward to watching more of your videos.
After going to Muay Thai sessions for a few months and learning what you’re doing wrong and how to correct the mistakes really helps with videos like these I noticed the improvement instantly my form balance pace everything is different compared to 4 months ago

I have no experience with shadow boxing or Muay Thai boxing, but this video is just extraordinary. I'll use this every day, I'll watch this every day. Thank you. Much love & respect from the PHILIPPINES.
Dude this was AWESOME. I’ve trying to learn techniques with your five min shadow boxing video and I finally tried third (after a ten min jump rope session). Sweating a bucketload and proud of myself for getting there in terms of combos. Long way to go but (million) thanks to you this is a start. Once I can afford a bag I’ll move on to you bag workouts. New link to audio worked! Thanks for getting it fixed. Have it and will do this tomorrow. for shadowboxing, I have a straight boxing audio, and MMA audio, but could never find one for Muay Thai. This is perfect!
4:11-4:54 To save time, I combined these two parts into a kind of kata where I move forward with a combo, move back with a counteroffense, switch legs and repeat.
I compare shadow boxing to playing the drums for me mentally. It’s easy to get locked in the same comfortable rhythm. This video is great for breaking that and trying new rhythms. Great info. Great narration. Thanks you for your time. I wish you great success that matches your hard work.
Sawadee krap Sean. This is such a great video. The instructions are clear and your form and technique look deadly. I look forward to learning from this and the other videos you post. That background is a paradise. Sawadee krap🙏
Dude. I did this shaadowbing session with you like 3/4 moths ago. By midway I was pretty much close to crashed. I just did again, and only got kinda hosed at the 9th round or so. But I kept breathing through it then at the 10th round, CHARGED through it. My man. This improvement is at least 80% thanks to you and your videos. I was able to keep thinking technique and make sure every shot kinda counted (ok maybe 10% got away from me). Thank you Sean. Thank you so much. I look forward coming to one of your camps once HOvid is over. Appreciate you brutha. Peace!
My MT shadowboxing is more like regular boxing with elbows and long guard. I need to add some kicks and knees. It feels weird kicking the air... Thanks for the video! I needed a reminder to finish with kicks.

Great stuff, at 60, I do this regular, however it’s a lot more Slow Mo, to avoid any muscle strains. Start with leg blocks and jab cross, cross hook combo, get the knees higher and higher. Same with kicks, aim at knee, hip, chest, face. (Front kick) round kick stays at hip/ribs level. Because it’s slow, more emphasis is on good technique.
