demi, don’t skip out on sleep. Sleep is required for your body to recover from the intense wrestling practices. In my opinion the only way is to try to get as much homework as you can done in school, so that you have more time after school.

what most people will tell you to just shoot more in practice and in matches, the reason they say that is because it works. That’s the easiest advice i can give you. However, if you still feel sacred or hesitate on shots, what I used to do, is I’d just go hard right out the gate. If you look across the mat and see this monster of a kid, try to bully him. Even if you’re scared, just push, pull, snap down all of it. If you can get that off on a guy you’ll feel way more confident as well as that monster across the mat will be thinking of you like that. I know it’s a long comment but trust me doing this in a match just works. Sometimes all it takes for a good boost is to get a good sprawl in, shut the other guy down. Act like your better than the other guy until you start to believe it. That’s my advice, wether you want to use it or not

I like this video. The advice is solid. I wrestled on ancient times and today's wrestlers are so much more savvy then we we're in the 70's. Repetition is golden. The more you do it, the more instinctive it becomes. You have to react, not think when someone shoots on you. And yes it can be humbling to wrestle better wrestlers to get better but they went through that too. So swallow your pride and be the best you can be.

i’m a fairly good wrestler and in practice i have the mentality of always going hard because it will show on the mat. and all of my partners i can hit my moves like they’re nothing but there’s always the one kid. that 6’5 wrestler on my team that beats me because of his length and knows how to stop my moves. he also knows a lot of my moves because he’s my best friend.

Hey, I have a match that I lost that I want you to review. (I took the guy down and exposed his back in the first round. The ref did his job and raised 2 and then 3 fingers, but the scoreboard lady was on her phone and only gave me 2 points. If I got the 5 I would've won the match by 3 points)

My coach tells me if your not confident in your shots, then take a shot as hard as you can. Most people don’t like taking shots because your opponent will most likely sprawl on you, but someone has to do something before the referee calls out stalling

Vintagegamer I’m going to tell you you should, I was always out of shape but it was only this year I got into decent shape. I started wrestling as a senior and have lost most of the matches I took. I always wish “if only I started a year earlier”.
I can tell you with 100% certainty, I am at least 500% better than when I started.
My first five matches ended in the first minute and a half and now I can go three rounds plus some over time.

And from experience, it’s better to workout consistently rather than doing it randomly when u have time. Also, run until u can’t no more , it really helps

I made it to varsity this year, and our coach told us not to have sex for at least 5 days before a match we care about. Like no fap, nothing. He said it will help our aggressiveness. I know after winning two matches I was ready to see my gf thats for sure.
