- I've put hundreds of miles down so far in search of my future hunting partner - a HUGE Red-Tailed Hawk. My buddy Jeb (Jeramiah, but I call him Jebodiah, and Jeb for short) joins me in this video. Jump in with us while we travel across the beautiful state of Ohio in today's video!

My interest in falconry started when I was in 4th grade. My teacher had us read the book My Side Of The Mountain by Jean Craighead George. If you have any interest in the outdoors and falconry, I recommend this book. I also recommend parents buy the book for their kids. It definitely lit the fire in me for the outdoors and falconry!
*I am a licensed falconer through the State of Ohio. It is a state and federal offense to tamper with or transport a bird of prey without proper licensing and/or permission from state or federal authorities. It is also illegal to injure or kill any bird of prey in the USA.

I’ve been looking into this for about a year now but not sure how to find a sponsor to get started any info you could give would help lol I’m from the nw Ohio area and I love watching animals work from dogs to birds It’s been a dream of mine to have a hawk of my own thanks for the videos
It sure is fascinating! I would recommend you come to the Ohio Falconry Association's annual picnic. It is September 22nd this year. If you follow the Assoc's FB page, it will have the information there. At the picnic you can meet falconers from all over the state and plan to hunt with us and find a sponsor. So cool to see wild Redtails, I hope to hunt with one at some point. We have invasive grey squirrels all over here, would be a dream to hunt them with their natural predator
Squirrel hunting with Red tails is my absolute favorite! Rabbit hunting is fun too, but its more of a one shot and it's over. I've had squirrel chases go over one hour with the same squirrel!
@@FinsandTalonsSquirrels are awesome quarry. Lots of falconers I know avoid them completely because their bite can end a birds career.
