The implication that Phoenix needs a reason to yell "Objection!" whenever he's doing something relaxing is really funny honestly. I always saw it as a "Say the line, Bart" sort of situation where he does it just because others want him to, but this is just better.
Cute video, Loved the more Slice of life approach to this one. I love how the office is just so big at this point that Nick is just like "These are my children"
This video was quite experimental, and involved me pushing out of my comfort zone and trying some new things. I've wanted to do a Slice of Life type video like this for quite awhile, and I've gone through many ideas, but none of them really stuck until this one. I'd pretty much never written a video like this one before, usually my stuff has a plot going. This one was pretty much just the characters existing. You could definitely argue Phoenix & Maya go on a walk falls into this category as well, but it was carried by the two flirting. This one is just banter city between everyone. Something that I definitely haven't written before is an established relationship. Just having Phoenix & Maya casually be together in this video was a very different experience, and an angle that I usually don't pursue because it alienates those not into the ship from enjoying the rest of the pretty much unrelated video. When I've done shipping stuff, it either takes over the whole video, or it's subtle hints and teases that can pretty much be ignored. This time I decided to go for it just to try something new, and it ended up connecting back around pretty satisfyingly at the ending, so I think it was worth it. Not sure I'll do anything like this again, but it was a very fun experience and I think it improved my versatility as a writer. Let me know what you think.
