G.I.Joe Comic Marvel comics animation commercial Pt2

- This is part 2 of the original cartoon animations used for the G.I.Joe Marvel comic run. I haven't found these on youtube yet and I have always wanted to give back for all that I have taken. Here it is!
It is because of the initial cartoon commercials for the comics which created the demand for the daily series which was good but not as good as it could had been if it was produced along the same principles as these 30 second commercials. I fell in love with G.I.Joe with the help of these commercials. They were brilliant and still are after 25 years!
After waiting 25 years, I wish the new live action movie would live up to the exciting standards set by this groundbreaking series! Instead, the new G.I.Joe "Rise of Cobra" seems to be rewriting things as they go along. So much for progress. What I have on youtube is what I feel is G.I.Joe. I hope everyone will agree!
YO JOE!!!!
Wow, these commercials had more action than the shows.
Really appreciate how they used the same voice actors from the cartoon for consistency.
that cover with wet suit, hawk and beachhead was badass
never see that coming
Bless you. I've wanted remastered DVD of these Sunbow Animatied Comic Commercials for eons.
After seeing the animations for the comic TV ads. I feel like we got gypped when DIC took over GI Joe. Seeing the Rolling Thunder being lifted onto the beach good god that looked awesome. Probably one of my favorite vehicles as a kid.
That's funny...Chris Latta is still playing Cobra Commander's voice in the 1987 and 88 commercials while a different character Fred the crimson guardsman is the Cobra Commander imposter in the comic book during that period
Also the fact that Cobra Commander's new design was done by Sunbow/Marvel in this commercial. Hasbro should have stayed with Sunbow/Marvel, because DIC sucked.
stainshield dic sucked hahahaha well said
Yeah, as I posted on another video of the comic ads I really think we got shafted. I bugs me that we got the DIC version of GI Joe even though Marvel was still doing the animations for the comic ads.
@@chadryan9900 It cost less money to animate a 30 second commercial than a 22 minute cartoon series.
Something most don't know about "G.I. Joe: Cartoon" needed approval of every episode from The Pentagon. The Pentagon Ambassador was in charge of getting permission's. They didn't want the Military viewed in a negative light.
Where's that info from?
@@PhilipAJones - @PhilipAJones - One of the Script writers talked about it during a UA-cam video. (They weren't 100% but there were episodes about DNA and other stuff that make you think today)
A few People dont know but the voice actor who did all the narrations of GI JOE cartoons was Jackson Beck , this dude was the voice of bluto in the defunct Famous Studios Paramount cartoons of late 1940's to the early60's and other additional voices in the famous Studios / Paramount cartoons of the 1940's and 1950's voiced Perry White in 1966 Filmation Cartoons and narrations of Superman and Superboy. He had long voice acting career he passed away in 2004 at age of 92 and was born in 1912 . WOW he was the voice of GI JOE good thing was he stayed with hasbro toy and animated commercials and Didnt work for DIC cartoon of GI JOE except for the operation Dragon Fire 5 part series which was transitions from marvel sunbow to DIC cartoon productions. His voice even today is still bad ass .
This was classic! You knew what new GI Joe toy that was about to hit the shelves at the toy store especially Toys R Us. Miss those days 😥😥
To bad Zanzibar and Raptor never made it in the cartoon.
Not to mention Croc Master.
Wow if only I were a kid again
Grade school and adulthood right here. How does that work?
I hope Hasbro decides to bring back the Thunder Machine and have Road Pig come with it
just to be different.
Oddly, i dont believe sgt. slaughter was even in the issue where star viper stole the disk.
Totally. A lot of the original figures were technically repaints but they were at least trying to make original characters out of them
Having read the comics, there is a lot of discrepancies between the comic and what was advertised. Sgt. Slaughter was never depicted in the comics past issue #54, and that huge vehicle of his never was in there.
Til now joe's had it easy.....lol
Yeah. I always loved the original Blondie Cover Girl in the original mini-series. Much better than the toy version. If you look closely at the Major Bludd Comic Commercial. The Wolverine has a long-haired Blonde Cover Girl. The Best Version.
The Joe seven pack of figures that is going to be sold only online includes Ripcord, but they changed the name to SPC. Altitude or something. I would guess because of the movie but it is Ripcord. Also includes Zap and Recondo.
I think this:
3:03
... is the precise moment that COBRA lost their self respect.
Oh you have not seen the worst from 1987. Search UA-cam for the others that they tried to write into the Comics. I can't believe how Larry Hama, who has given us the best Wolverine comics got through 1987 - 1994. The ideas were falling down just to win toy sales.
in one commercial Battle armor cobra commander and serpentor were arguing in front of Gold mask Destro .who was leading cobra at the time? is this what would have happened if g.ijoe sunbow produced a series 3
to be honest since after all those times when sgt slaughter came to gijoe and they got beat down in the movie i think cc and serpentor and destro were like the head leaders and these two must probably hate each other's guts after all those times losing to the joes or most likely pissed off at zartan's b.s. and his buds peeing all over their plans for cash so the way i see it destro was like "f" you cc "f" you serpy "f" you and you im out, knowing destro comes from a huge rich famliy the dude would most likely spend time in his private house creating those DEMON machines and those iron greandaer cars he has, i think marvel animation was up on commercials for the comics and DIC was on show for about 2 seasons starting with the "dragonfire" saga in season 1 after DIC was through there was most likely more comics and toys before the EXTREME era, hope that helps let me know if you agree PEACE
Tough it out Zartan tough it out....lol
Went can't we get animation like this today??
The only time we see Cobra use the hydro sled
Too bad Battleforce loses against Cobra and all of them died except one I think
Marvel should get the rights back to the G.I.Joe comics or another live action movie
They should have let Sunbow & Marvel Productions keep producing the GI Joe cartoons. The DIC version sucks.
Hasbro cheapened out. 🤦🏻♂️ But yeah, the DIC cartoons were awful. I tried to watch, and just couldn't.
wait they used scenes from this 4 toy commercials
Does anyone know who the guy with a really deep voice, the one singing ''Cobra's new Hydro sled, is gonna get GIJOE''was? He did many of the commercials, but I'm pretty sure it's not the same guy as the narrator...
marioozzie
I'd like to know that too. Sounds like the Destro voice over work from Sunbow kinda
THE GOOD OLD DAYS!
my spine just think about
yo joe
They could’ve sang anything in these promos
Cobra’s got a hankering for a sub
But it’s 10 PM and Subway is closed
So he goes to Safeway and bumps into Zartan
But he doesn’t really feel like talking to him
Zartan owes him money but insists chatting it up
Cobra looks at his watch because now it’s been 15 minutes
Right now Cobra wishes he was facing
G.I. JOE (a real American hero!)
never see that coming
Well as you stated the Crimson Twins aren't really that dangerous, so it would make sense asking if GI JOE can beat the Crimson Guard.
I did recall there was also an alternate commercial where The Cobra Terrordrome was named Cobra Lauch Base. Was it changed before or after The Terrordrome title?
it's funny i read the comic, the episode was entitled "launch base"
WTF!?Are They singing everything they see!?
Michael Bay should do a GIJoe movie
cool
What is the first part of the Tomax and Xamot comic song? I can't decipher it.
But are there the same quantity of commercials as the number of comic books.
The other feel pain!!!
The animation in these commercials, is a million times better than the Sunbow and D.I.C.
what are double twins?
Did the Crimson Twins own they own circus?
yo joe
yo joe
never see that coming
