  • Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have become an increasingly critical component of modern military operations. With their ability to provide intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities, as well as launch precision strikes, UAVs are changing the face of warfare. The Garmousha VTOL drone is one such example of cutting-edge drone technology that is making waves in the industry. Recently showcased at IDEX 2023, one of the world's largest defense exhibitions, the drone drew attention from military experts and attendees alike. In this video, we'll take a closer look at the Garmousha and its features and explore why it's considered one of the most advanced drones in the world.
The Garmousha VTOL drone was designed by Adasi, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi-based defense conglomerate EDGE Group, in collaboration with the UAE Armed Forces

You can't just hijack the term vtol for the new toy copter in town.
    There's a W I D E difference between a chopper and a vtol.

Helicopters are VTOL. I understand you're probably referring to the ability of a fixed-wing aircraft that can utilize thrust-vectoring technology, but a helicopter is, by definition, a vertical takeoff and landing vehicle

@@jonnydemnutz7693 I guess if you go by orthodox terminology though that's not what people in the field will ever use to call a helicopter unless it has V-22/280 features

@@BobuxGuy Don't have to be an engineer to know two blade helicopters are noisy as hell, and the 8 blade ones are not. Making a weapon like this less noisy is high on the list of things is wants to be to last longer on a battlefield.

@@vonSchwartzwolfe its can operate at altitude of 10,000 feet do you think a helicopter can be heard at that height?

UAV might work on electricity or hybrid, in either case they are not environmentally friendly. The initial manufacturing has a big carbon footprint. Even if the source of energy is electric produced by Sun, air, hydro. The battery used on board is a huge guzzler in material consumption and power consumption.

Unpopular opinion but I don't like drone warfare, recon drones and un-manned ground support vehicles so infantry don't have to lug around heavy gear, sure. If was in charge of a country I'd be pushing towards mechs rather than drones, heavily armored walker mechs with 2x20mm M61 Vulcans as arms, with 8 launcher hard points on each shoulder, 8 Aim9's on the left and 8 ATGM on the right, feet designed to absorb and protect from mines and IED's, Flares, chaff and ECM's to defend against incoming threats, ERA attached to 6mm Armox welded steel and Kevlar lining.

Wars should be fought by unpiloted mechs and drones and other unpiloted warcraft so that there are no human casualties. The winner and loser should then exchange non-land based goods upon completion of the war so as not to not disturb civilians.

I love mechs too. But they probably wouldn’t work, as they would be a huge target, and it’s not like they can repair a damaged leg on the field. Also, you have think about how we would transport them. Mechs would have more manoeuvrability, but when you’re fighting in close quarters or in a open field, you would be disoriented and it wouldnt matter. Plus you also have to think about how we would power such a mech. A mech would use lots of power. We need more advancements in energy before we can make mechs.

Rota blades are also noisy , and since it can only fly at an altitude of 10,000 feet it will be easy to short down.. once again a waste of the Petro dollar tunds
