I cannot express how happy I am that you still make these kinds of videos. I love watching all your videos. The information great and 100% honesty is so appreciated. Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos. 🙏🏻
Restaurant meltdowns are TOTALLY hard. My little one was 18 months when we were on vacation out to dinner. We had received our drinks and placed our food order when he started losing his mind- refusing to sit or be held, screaming crying. Turns out he was coming down with some illness- developed a fever and clearly wasn’t feeling great, but the first sign was his behavior being off at the restaurant. We quickly let the server know we needed to change our order to go- I waited for the food and took care of the bill while my husband exited with kiddo. It feels mortifying as it is happening (people staring is not my favorite!) but anyone with kids can relate to the difficulties!
This happens to me pretty often with my Autistic 11 year old. People see an older kid having a toddler like meltdown and stare and give extremely judgmental looks. Staring should be frowned upon in these scenarios....it's mortifying. The ONLY time I had a positive experience during one of his meltdowns was In CVS. He had a meltdown because he was too big to fit in the baby car buggy anymore and people started whispering and staring when the cashier abruptly walked away from ringing someone up, brought him the squeaky toy they used as a bell to get a workers attention when no one was up front, and loudly told me not to worry....that she herself had a special needs child at home and not to pay attention to the "a**holes" who can't find kindness in their hearts and don't have the manners to not stare. She glared around at the customer's who had been whispering and staring....and they suddenly acted like the floor was VERY interesting to look at, lol! She was my hero that day, and the squeaky toy she brought over to my son was just enough of a distraction to stop his meltdown so I could get to the back and get his prescription filled. He was so calm by the time we were done that he put the dog toy back on the counter with no issue, even though she told me he could have it if he wanted it. People just need to stop being so judgemental when a child is having a "moment" in public and just mind their own business. The parent in that situation is ALREADY under enough stress without having to feel the embarrassing judgemental stares.
When my daughter was about a year old, she had a meltdown in a Steak n' Shake. My husband took her outside while I got boxes for our food/paid/collected our 3 year old and left the restaurant. There was a group of teenagers sitting a few booths down from us giving looks and making snide comments. I ignored them as much as possible until I heard one of them say "If that baby had cried ONE MORE TIME, I swear that I'd go *****" (something about smacking my daughter). That was the point at which I lost my cool, marched over to their booth and asked them exactly what they would do to my kid, and told them that I hope that they experience this exact same situation once they had a child of their own so that they could think back on this moment and realize just how awful they were being. Not my finest moment, but we can't control when our kids decide that they have had enough - the only thing we can do is remove them from the situation as quickly as we can, which it sounds like you did.
As awful as you felt about your reaction, good for you! And thank goodness those snarky teens were at the restaurant and not babysitting somebody’s kids!
At least you removed them. I have a friend who'd just let her son scream and cry in restaurants and then wonder why everyone stared. Fortunately the son is a preteen now.
I like the cooler toned, "Future Visions" version of that palette. Pretty! I would probably put packing tape over those glitters, though. Too messy for me! Great video!
I agree..I also think Nabla is so underrated. Beautiful quality, made in Italy, cruelty~free and the packaging is so unique and lovely💗. I purchase many items from PUR on a consistent basis~one of the few brands I’m loyal to time and time again.👍
For anyone who needs color correcting around the eyes before you use concealer, Hard Candy has peach and green correctors. I use the peach almost every day, it's really good!
As someone who was grunge eversince the 90's I did not pay attention to Hard Candy because it seemed too disgusting girly for me, but that baby blue polish and it's clones were everywhere. Urban Decay had some unconventional colors in their collection which I liked.
@@lipstickzombie4981 I remember that polish being the It color! Didn’t they also have a really popular kind of grungy olive green too? I swear I remember seeing that all over too (especially in our Seattle grunge scene)
I really admire you as a mom, Emily in many many ways and I’m 64 lol but hearing you talk about little Bubba’s meltdown and how you knew you needed to take him out of the restaurant really makes me happy. I’ve sat through too many kids crying and moms who just stay there with them, my mother-in-law was usually around to take them by the hand and walk them outside so we could eat. It’s also amazing how you unbelievably understood where he was coming from as a young mama I used to just get frustrated at the behavior but you understand it, and that is really to be commended.❤
As a SUPER pale girl with a very pink undertone, I've used the hard candy foundation for YEARS. It's one of TWO drugstore foundations that actually has my pasty shade and doesn't make me look orange or yellow....but I keep using it instead of the other (loreal infallible powder foundation) because of how pretty it looks on the skin and how long lasting it is. Cosmetic companies (rightly so) have spent so much time extending the shades on the deep end of the spectrum, but they haven't extended the light end at all. Especially with drugstore. They tend to think everyone is beige and tan....and have terrible unrealistic options for anyone who is lighter or darker than that. The main problem people like me have is even the lightest shade (porcelain or ivory) has an ORANGE undertone....making it look like we've had a bad spray tan only on the face. Hard Candy has a shade though....that's even too pale for ME (it's basically just white, lol). It's why they will always have my heart when it comes to makeup....plus I've always thought their packaging is cute❤
I would love to see a tinted brow gel rating video (similar to what you did with tinted moisturizer), comparing the hold versus pigmentation and affordability
The grip primer is SO underrated! I got it on a whim several months ago because the Elf one was never in stock, and I like it so much better. My makeup seems to last a bit longer, and it applies a bit smoother.

I had a two year old have a complete meltdown on an airplane! I was by myself, sitting in a bulkhead seat, right behind First Class. The stewardess tried to get me to move farther back in the plane, but I refused. I had booked the bulkhead seat to give us more room, to make the flight more enjoyable in the first place. I was pretty frustrated, trying to deal with a screaming and squirming little boy and fend off the attempts of the stewardess to move us "to the back of the bus" at the same time! I was embarrassed, but kinda ticked off, at the same time. That stewardess didn't offer to help me by offering apple juice or crackers or anything to help me quiet my distraught son. She just wanted to get me moved. That was pretty frustrating!
When you put that blush on, I was immediately like Nope, That’s definitely gonna be a Pass for me but DANG, am I the only one who thinks that your cheeks actually look truly naturally flushed in the prettiest way ever after blending it in. ❤️ Thanks for making these videos.
My daily foundation is from this brand (GlamoFlauge 16hr). Great for textured, acne prone skin, and long night shifts. I wasnt expecting a spotlight on this brand. Im excited to watch. Thanks Emily!😃
That foundation is the affordable version of Estee Lauder Double Wear! If you look at the ingredients, they're virtually the same! Looks and wears the same on me (oily skin, hot humid FL).
I love that you do reviews of all of one certain brand !! Been watching you from WAY back! ( apartment days )Could you please maybe do a whole face of profusion ??? Would love to see what you like out of the brand .
Ooo yes I would love that video! I love Profusion blushes, and I have one of their big palettes, but that’s it. I’d love a video on them. And I think that would be good for Emily’s view numbers too, because I never see full reviews on that brand 😊
Hi Emily, thanks for doing this video. You have been a Hard Candy supporter for years! I do remember when Hard Candy was higher end, that was a long time ago 😊. I do like the primers from Hard Candy.
I remember when Hard Candy was in department stores way before Sephora existed! They always had such cute displays that were definitely targeting the teens. I never could afford their stuff at the time. I think they sell exclusively at Walmart - if you go to their site they refer you to Walmart for their products.
I had a candy flavored lip balm from Hard Candy over 20 years ago. It was when it was a high end brand sold at Nordstrom’s. I also remember their light blue nail polish. It was such a new concept in the 90s.
I still use their putty primer you recommended years ago. When those were all the rage. It hydrates, smooths fine lines, and fills in my pores all at once. It’s SO good!
Hard candy is the bomb! when they changed packaging dollar tree got it all, I got palletes and primers galore. The old glamoflauge concealer was the bomb! I got so many primers for 1.00👍🤗😲
Oh my gosh, just thinking about how much I’d love a clean with me/organize with me!! I so badly need to organize my makeup and skincare and am looking for inspiration and motivation 😅 thankful for all you do Emily, thank you!! ☺️
I totally remember Hard Candy nail polish with the little rings! I was big on painting my nails unconventional colors in the 90's and they had pastels. Way cuter and cooler than Sally Hansen's metallic rose and frosty pink. 🤣
Happy to see the foundation works over layered skincare, I only wear sunscreen under it (I have oily skin). Def trying the Face Off bronzer, the lip liner, and the brow tint. The glitter eye looked beautiful. When you used Greek tragedy for a second i though you were using ND Mini biba/bronze.

I love your energy and passion for makeup always!! I haven’t tried Hard Candy in yearsssss but will now! I had to remove myself and my son from restaurants a few times….just melt downs that fixed themselves outside too with a little taking…”we will be home soon, you just need to eat”. Then we walked back in to meet his dad and grandparents at the table like nothing was wrong- ha ha. He was around Bubba’s age. 😊❤❤❤
Dineh Mohajer, the brand's founder sold the brand to LVMH in the late ,90's, so it's not surprising it was in Sephora as both are LVMH properties. The brand lost its star power so LVMH sold it to another company who owns it currently
Hi Emily, a lady of 52 here very inexperienced with makeup but my daughter is getting married in Jamaica end of March and I needed to learn. Your videos have been so helpful with affordable products that work. I do need a bit of help it will be hot there and as I also travel around usa in my regular life as a full time rv nomad I'm in hot weather too. I would like to learn how to stop my makeup sliding down my face into a puddle on my neck! Thank you for your great videos and the time you spend on them, I appreciate it. Ooo nearly forgot I have normal to oily skin that definitely gets more oily in the Summer, probably why my makeup slips off! Thanks again.

Oh man! I remember seeing Hard Candy products back when I was a teenager and thinking they were so fancy! And re: bubba’s restaurant meltdown, girl. My “baby” is 16 now 😮 but when she was your little guys age, we were at an italian restaurant we’d eaten at many times and when her basic AF meal came (which she normally loved btw) she full on lost her mind and screamed “this tastes like throw up!”. When I tell you I could’ve died of embarrassment omg. Now it’s hysterical though!
Hi Em!! I love your stories!!! I have two girls and a boy also. My son has high functioning autism. When he was little he would have a meltdown every where. My husband ate in the car all the time with him lol. Once I took all three kids to the mall and he decided to throw himself down…he was a big boy. I looked at my girls and said help me…they literally walked away like they didn’t know me!!! 🤣🤣

I just tried the Purr quad today for the first time and it's gorgeous!! I've had it on 12 hours now and it still looks fantastic. I still have a boxed, baked blush and highlight from them that I love so much. It's such a shame they discontinued those. You've inspired me to try some more of their products now though!

I used to be a huge hard candy fan in 2011-2015!!! I was addicted to the plumping serum lipgloss . Now that I’ve hit 40, I’m scared to use it . Using it on young skin was fine but maybe not so much now… until I saw your review …. I may now give it another shot!!

Emily, I'm much older than you, so I remember when Hard Candy first came out in the higher end department stores (that's the only place you could buy it) in 1995! It was expensive, but I particularly loved their eyeliners and eyeshadows back then! I was actually shocked when I first saw it in Walmart and the price reduction from what I paid for it in the 90's!

Love the video! I purchased the Hard Candy hydrating primer a couple of years ago on your recommendation, and it immediately became a favorite that I still use every day. It's nicely hydrating and definitely helps my makeup last.
Some years ago i was traveling abroad alone for the first with my then 2 year old son ( which is a challenge by itself but hubby had to work). So we're in a big mall in Germany and he's hungry.I find a food court and he's never had Mac Donald's before,so I order chicken nuggets and fries and a Capri sun. All is well, he's happily munching away but by the time the nuggets were finished he had his first ever public meltdown. I grabbed the tray, flung it to the ground, drinks and fries all over the floor and before I could react he was on the ground kicking and screaming. Everyone stared and laughed, a nice cleaning lady helped me clean up the mess while i tried to pick up my son from the floor. I say tried because every time i managed to get him up, he threw himself right back onto the floor 😮 It was his first ever melt down and it couldn't have been more perfect....alone,in a foreign country and everyone staring. I was flustered, embarrassed and it took me what seemed like forever to get him strapped into his stroller. I will never forget that day 😂
Thanks for sharing this! My Hard Candy section is so tiny at my Walmart that I often overlook it when in the store. I will have to pay better attention!

Emily, I love the Hard Candy Glamoflouge (sp??) foundation! It is so smoothing and lovely shades. I tried it years ago thanks to an earlier video you did. I also have the primer, now I need to try the blushes and lip liners! Thank you so much. I've definitely had nightmares in restaurants. I don't think my husband and I ever really ate together in that situation, someone was always holding the baby/ toddler, lol. Sounds like you all recovered nicely. Congratulations to Bitty and Belle!!
Hey Sunshine 🌞. I'm excited about most of these Hard Candy products, I love the lip balms and lip liners. Oh and the concealer looks great. I do like the eyeshadow palette except for the glitter. I'm turning 57 in a few days and I'm just not into glitter. Love you Emily 😍.

Pretty shadow! I really like the Glamoflauge foundation. My Walmart is always out of the primer but looking forward to trying it. My kid story, I was cranky, whiney, fidgeting and mean so my dad took me outside to calm down where I immediately threw up. Poor Dad!

I'm new to makeup and stores can be overwhelming but I came upon the HC foundation. It was the first one I've ever used that matches my skin exactly. I am fair but also pink and so many foundations are brown based and too dark. The foundation was prefect. I almost cried.

I love Hard Candy! I love that foundation for the summer. It lasts all day and it lasts in the heat and lasts all day! I love those lip balms that you showed too. I have a lot of colors of those. I love the powder bronzer that you showed. It's one of my favorites. I agree that this is a great line of makeup! It's one of my favorites. Thanks for talking about this line!
I have always loved hard candy...the EYES THE LIMIT eyeshadow primer is actually good and I use it on my nose too to smooth out and blur pores...a trick I learned from Nikita joy!! It has a slight tint that works for my skin tone....love this video and I can't wait to try this eye look with my own shadows!

Omg I remember when Urban Decay was a drugstore brand! In the early 90s! Oops I think I just dated myself but I swear I'm not that old! I just remember seeing it in stores 😁
Love the Hard Candy Primer, it's the only one I use. I find it dries down quickly, so you gotta work fast! I don't have a restaurant story, but I do have a shopping tale. My son was about three, I thought he was potty trained. He had been wearing pull-ups, which were always dry. So, we trialed wearing his Spiderman underwear to the store. To be safe, I took him to the bathroom when we first arrived. Then, just a few minutes into browsing, he stands with his feet wide apart and says, "uh oh Mommy". And that's where the pee dribbled, in a little pool on the floor, between his feet. Oh dear! The sales associate was wonderful. She quickly got paper towel, and helped me wipe it up. This was about 25 years ago. Now he's grown and wonderful. The years have flown by, as they do, so try enjoy every moment!

I have a 35 year old son. The first time I took him to a sit down restaurant he was 2 months old and he was ok until we got our food. Then he started crying and he wouldn't stop. We had to leave. New young mom STESSED! Love Hard Candy!
Their new releases (the liquid bronzer, blush, highlight) DEFINITELY seem like glossier dupes and I’m here for it lol. I’ll be picking these up 👀 thank you as always Emily for your fantastic reviews on brands no one seems to review!!

I don't have kids but I do sympathize with parents when kids are in meltdown mode if the parents are trying. I'm not a fan of folks who pretend it's not happening or just ignore the child. i was at a museum once when a baby in a stroller was crying and the mom was too busy instagramming herself to tend to him. Her family came and dealt with it, but it always made me wonder what happens in private. Does she just let him cry? Broke my heart. 😥
I went out today and bought the NYX moisturizing concealer in Vanilla. $11 at Ulta. Thank you! Excellent purchase. I'm very happy with it. I also got the ELF eye shadow pencil stick $5 but used it as an eye liner and it has stayed in place for about 6 hours now.
I actually have never tried anything from Hard Candy. Now you’re making me want to buy a few things. I really want to try those liquid blushes, and those lip liners! They look great! And Ohhh yes I’ve had my share of screaming kids in restaurants and stores 😳 my daughter who is 32 now lol, when she was little she threw herself down on the floor of the grocery store and flipped the heck out because she couldn’t get something 😳🤦🏻♀️ I’ll never forget looking at her laying on her back crying and throwing a fit right on the grocery store floor. Omg 😂
My son thew a fit and broke my purse strap when he was young. So I stopped carrying a purse and pre warned him if he wasn't getting anything. When he did throw a fit after that we left the store. Yep cart full of food.
Wow. I had no idea Hard Candy had so much in Walmart. I remember when HC was in Nordstrom's. I bought a brow kit that even included some mini tweezers. I loved it. As for restaurant incidents with the kids, the biggest thing was my daughter wanting to go to the restroom every five minutes when she was potty training. She's 22 now. lol
I JUST put my Glamoflauge foundation back out in rotation to use this week too! Forgot how good it is!! Today, I didn't have time to do my full face of foundation, and just used it as concealer ~ blended out~ it really worked!! Cant wait to try that blush!!
I LOVE LOVE that hard candy plumping lip balm. I was just obsessing over it last night. I have it on me at all times. In the pink shade. I love a lot of their stuff. I have a lot of their stuff in my makeup bag actually
I am late to the game on this but my oldest has Autism. Restaurants, weddings, parties, Walmart.. you name it 30 min or less was a meltdown. People would stare. He’s 13 now and He’s the easiest kid to take places. My heart clutched in my chest when you told your story. Been there done that and got the Tshirt! I’d have to say my most memorable experience was in hobby lobby and the lady at the checkout asked me if he had autism. She said “ I thought so.. you did a great job with him during his meltdown”.. warmed my heart because people can be so rude about it.
I am absolutely obsessed with the hard candy smoothing primer it is so much better than the elf putty primer! It hides not only my pours and fine lines but a decent pock mark too left over from when I chickenpox as a kid..nothing has ever covered that! Can't say enough good things about it!
i wish i can get my hands on hard candy cosmetics but none of my walmarts carry it and online is hard to find the right colors/etc. Amazon unfortunately also has barely anything. if the brand was more easily accessible, i'm sure more folks would have a chance to try and love them.

I was actually born in Paducah KY. And I was a cheerleader in nearby Murray KY in high school. Even back then, and this was the early 70s, being a cheerleader wasn’t popularity, it was hard work. They would bring in outside people from the college for judges, and we would be in competitions all the time. Sorry to get off on that tangent but when you mentioned that it just brought back a lot of memories. Take care and this was beautiful.

Loved this video! I always look, but rarely buy Hard Candy, but so many things I want to try, including that gorgeous blush! Actually picked up their eye primer when I could never find my fave Wet n Wild one, I actually love it and it’s a huge tube, will last years. 😂 just picked up a beautiful highlight combo (pink/ champagne duo), swatches are not impressive, but will see what it does on the face. And I liked the little green eye quad. Thanks Em!

Thanks for making these videos.
Nope I was there too 😅 / Then Emily blended it out and I thought darn that looks incredible and so natural and pretty...
All I can say is I do not miss Blippi videos or hauling sacks of toys snacks book’s clothes. God bless Moms in this phase cuz you are all 😇!
3 year olds are just a little bit exhausting!! :D
I've been loving the videos you've been doing lately using brands from the lower end of the drugstore!
My daily foundation is from this brand (GlamoFlauge 16hr). Great for textured, acne prone skin, and long night shifts. I wasnt expecting a spotlight on this brand. Im excited to watch. Thanks Emily!😃
It's my favorite foundation of all time too!!
I used that for all of freshman year! It covered my acne like paint.
@@EnvyBluthe first thing I ever got from profusion was the blush II palette Emily recommended years ago. Still use it
Hi Emily, thanks for doing this video. You have been a Hard Candy supporter for years! I do remember when Hard Candy was higher end, that was a long time ago 😊. I do like the primers from Hard Candy.
you're very welcome! So many cool finds right now! :)
I remember when Hard Candy was in department stores way before Sephora existed! They always had such cute displays that were definitely targeting the teens. I never could afford their stuff at the time. I think they sell exclusively at Walmart - if you go to their site they refer you to Walmart for their products.

OMG that orange /plum eyelook is crazy beautiful. You have inspired me, I need to do this😻
aw thank you!!
I had a candy flavored lip balm from Hard Candy over 20 years ago. It was when it was a high end brand sold at Nordstrom’s. I also remember their light blue nail polish. It was such a new concept in the 90s.
I remember my relatives from the US gifted me a weird coffee flavored lipstick from the brand. 😏
Always excited to see you!!! I remember when Hard Candy was expensive and when it first started being sold in Walmart!
aww thank you Tiffany!! It was really exciting to see it come to walmart!
@@emilynoel83 Yessss! I remember thinking oh my goodness! Is that like a one time thing or what!
Love your videos. Watching for years . Please do a best 20 dupes ever video for us.
thanks so much! hoping to do an updated dupes video soon! :)

I love Hard Candy plumping gloss. Wow, those are so good. Hard Candy has really delivered with some solid products.

The bronzer is definitely amazing. I'm brown skin and it's one of the few drugstore brand bronzers that's dark enough to show up.
I remember buying Hard Candy at Sephora way back in the 90’s
Oh yes I forgot about this!!
I don’t think I have ever use this brand, but exited to learn and watch a new video. Just in time for my lunch, so perfect timing.
yay! have a great rest of the day!
I used to work at Sephora in the early 2000s and they had Hard Candy. I wondered what happened to it.

I love the pink nails!

I say tried because every time i managed to get him up, he threw himself right back onto the floor 😮
It was his first ever melt down and it couldn't have been more perfect....alone,in a foreign country and everyone staring.
I was flustered, embarrassed and it took me what seemed like forever to get him strapped into his stroller.
I will never forget that day 😂
Thanks for sharing this! My Hard Candy section is so tiny at my Walmart that I often overlook it when in the store. I will have to pay better attention!

It was the 80's. And it was soooo alluring. I remember the counter at Lord & Taylor and wanting everything.
Love this eye look on you. So pretty. And yes, we had an Olive Garden incident too when my oldest was around 1. You are not alone👍🏼😃
Great video. Don't think that makeup does you justice especially the foundation.
I'm always iffy about Hard candy, but watching that blush turn from "I don't know about that..." to "That's pretty awesome!" is very appealing.

I love the sheer envy chilling wonder hydrating powder!!

The hard candy putty primer is my favorite. Better than the elf.
Love how the first eyeshadow shade you pick after relaying your restaurant story was "Damsel in Distress", kinda fitting! Lol xx
I don’t know what it’s called but hard candy put out their answer to the huda beauty nude pallet and it’s so so good the eyeshadow quality is amazing.

I’m in awe of how cheerful you are all the time. And I love your family stories :-)
I love that you review different brands like this. I wish you would do more cruelty free brands like this one.
I want to try them again, but I cannot bring myself to enter a Walmart without a tranquilizer first. I will have to look online
You must live in CA like me 😂
I'm new to makeup and stores can be overwhelming but I came upon the HC foundation. It was the first one I've ever used that matches my skin exactly. I am fair but also pink and so many foundations are brown based and too dark. The foundation was prefect. I almost cried.
I remember buying Hard Candy eyeshadow quads at Saks and Sephora. I kept one on hand and the colors still swatch well.
This is one of my favorite looks you’ve ever done!! Absolutely stunning! I may have to snag that blush and bronzer! whew!!

I just bought a Hard Candy glitter glue at my Wal-Mart last week. It works beautifully! Although I have no high end version to compare it to 😬😍❤️
I forgot that they carried one! Cool!
@Emily Noel It's hard to keep up on everything the brands carry and all Wal-Marts are so different 😖🤦♀️ My favorite quad is also the Purr😍❤️

Thank you beautiful!! 🙏🏼❤️❤️
my pleasure!!

YES...so happy you are talking about this brand!!! ok going to watch.. the Glam foundation is a staple in my foundation wardrobe!!
I cannot believe how many gems there are!!

Thanks Em!
