You know I live in north Georgia in good ole USA and I like winter here. People here think I crazy because I like winter. It does get cold here. We were down to 9 degree F here the last two winters. My ideal outside working temperature is about 50 degrees, sunny and light winds. I can work all day and not get hot and not get cold. I know your winters are not to be compared but I can appreciate your love for winter. Enjoy!
ALMOST every time that I receive a message from youtube telling me there's a new Jay Legere video I just sit comfortably on the couch, got some good stuff to drink, and prepare myself to enjoy the show. thanks, Jay, you're the best.
Thanks Diane! UA-cam is so oversaturated with channels and content these days. I figure just being myself is the only true way I can be different than the others. Have a great week. Jay
I’m so happy to see you Jay. You bring a smile to my face every time. I never get enough time to spend the time I desire outdoors. And you always help with your little nuggets of outdoor adventure. I just love what you do. Thank you
Thanks Red. I am glad you can get a taste of the outdoors through my videos. I know when I can't get out, I love watching people camping on UA-cam. Have a great week. Jay.
Nooooooooooo! I love your tent! It's so perfect! Just my humble opinion. You gotta do what makes you happy. Keep up the great work Jay! Love your videos!!
Hey Jay, I've learned over the years that the best bushcrafters are those who learn by actually doing, you learn what works and what does not work that way.
Great to see you again Jay!! Just getting caught up on your content. I really enjoyed this longer format vlog. After I received devastating health news in July I am happy to see you back at the tent and doing your thing. Your work brings me peace and calm, now more than ever. I look forward to your new adventures and I know that great Canadian UA-cam content from you, My Self Reliance, Foresty Forest, and VanCity Vanlife, will keep my warm through winter. Much respect and appreciation for what you do, from Ottawa 🇨🇦
Jay, we have missed you! But, as the saying goes,” Absences makes the heart grow fonder”. So glad to hear of your future plans for winter camping. Can’t wait to see you renovate your new location!
Loved the whole video, but seeing KD and hotdog at the end? Still one of my favourite guilty pleasures in life! I’m building a little cabin on a family farm in Alberta, I know what I’ll be taking out to eat next time! Love your new site, can’t wait to watch your progress!
Thanks Jim. I'm getting more and more comfortable getting out there in the off season. It's a great place all year round. But definitely way more interesting in the winter.
Just found your site Jay and it’s delightful. A little ole lady having great adventures vicariously through you. From Ottawa on a sunny delightful Sunday saying thank you.
Your tent is 5 star hotel compared the the other's set up I always thought the plywood walls made your tent feel more secure Looking forward to seeing how you'll set up the other site Not quite fall yet here in Hamilton ON..it’s actually warm….for now! Take care and stay warm 🇨🇦 ❤️
The new camp is fantastic. You're doing it right. Enjoy yourself and the beautiful wilderness. I'm a big fan of mac and cheese and brats or hot dogs. Looked delicious.
great start to a long winter adventure. Glad the tent was all good too when you got back to it. The other one can be cut up to start your fires maybe if it will burn or put it over your wood pile and keep the rain off it. Good luck Jay.
Just this very morning I was thinking that you hadn't put up a video in a while. Then I picked up my phone and there was a notification. Excellent way to start a Sunday! Awesome video as always. Love the new tent site. I can see it has potential! You will put give that spot your personal touch! Looking forward to watching what you do with your new site! So awesome!!
Good to see you back at the tent again, getting ready for the snowy season. New location looks like a great place for expanding (can you VRBO your current tent? lol). AND ... you scored a toilet seat. Bonus. Loved the overnight northern lights segment too. You always have had a knack for finding those kind of natural wonders to watch. I'm sure the water container will be handy so long as it doesn't freeze solid. Might want to think about getting a camping water filter to run lake water through. Will make refilling that container a lot easier. Looking forward to the adventure of planning and building a permanent structure.
Move your old camp to the new site you can switch your canvases one from another the one with the hole in it you can use it to park your snowmobile in it so it don't freeze up and you can also use it to store wood in it I think that would be a great idea
Awesome new location, I can't wait to see what you do with it. The "nice pot" looks to be the bottom of a pressure cooker by the flanges on the sides of the rim. Hope you and yours are healthy and happy and thanks for another great video! :)
Interesting new location, looks like it might be harder to get the sled up to the tent. I’m sure your going to transform the new location into something spectacular, one thing is your not afraid of had work to get what you want, hope Christal will help. Stay Safe and have fun
Jay you should clean out the tent on your new place and store all that wood on that site until winter and then you can move it all to your current place once the lake is froze over
What a sight! Good luck brother get it done. I’m very jealous! I wished we had something like this in Texas. But I plan on remedying that soon. I’m getting close to retirement. Going to get me 40 - 50 acres of heavily wooded land then make me a good homestead! Keep pushing!
My favourite cut of meat! Pork butt steak. It has so much flavour because of the bone and the amount of fat. A pork chop is way too dry! What a fantastic tent. I'm a wimp when it comes to the cold and wind but I think I could be very happy in there for a few days. Aw! now I have a craving for pork butt steak and it's 10:40 pm. Have a good time, take care and hugs from Canada!!
Hi Jay, always good to hear from you. I always enjoy your trips to the cabin. Your new cabin seems to be in a nice spot but, it looks crazy windy there. It could be a much colder spot. You will definitely need your stove there. I always enjoy your simple meals. I'm 73 but, I remember many years ago, I lived in a Wall tent for 5 years straight and those were the best years I can remember. I love your time lapsed videos, they are so cool. Looking forward to Winter with you.
Thanks John. I definitely thought about the wind. And the reality is my current tent takes wind dead in from the lake anyway. I figure it will just make for more interesting videos.
Save some of the starch water next time u make macandcheese . You can use it in place of the milk . Put the butter and cheese pack in the starch water , mix well and heat it back up to activate things , mix well then add the noodles. Good luck on the next adventure.
Great watch - and I love your new lake-side rocky location - so fabulous. The beauty there is beguiling! Keep your videos coming - you are always a delight! (( I rarely like / comment as I watch youtube via my Smart TV which does not allow for that type of interaction ))
Hi Patti! Thanks for taking the time to comment on this video. I really appreciate it. I'm really happy with the new rock. Hope I can make it into a great bush camp. Take care. Jay.

You do it right bud…….you do it real I’m glad you stuck at it 😊👍

Thanks for the video Jay. I do a lot of camping myself but just in southern Manitoba not in the NWT. No complaining. It's pretty nice here too. Always look forward to your videos. Down to earth stuff and it's what UA-cam should be about. LOL
Hi Russ. Thanks for the comments. I bet the camping in Manitoba is awesome too. And I know it can get as cold there as anywhere else. Would make for some extreme camping that is for sure.
Hey there Jay. Another great video. Not a big fan of the old Coleman canoes. Just had a couple bad experiences with them years ago. However, if it works for you and does what you want, that is all that matters. Myself, I currently have an Old Town Discovery 133. I've always loved camping, and I don't know if it's just my imagination, but food seems to taste better cooked outdoors, than inside, on a regular stove.
Jay This is my favorite channel on UA-cam. I’m so excited for you with this new camp and winter coming all the new content is going to be awesome. I live vicariously through you i want something like that so bad but i can’t right now with my life circumstances. Keep up the good work dude.
This is a huge compliment. There's so much on UA-cam to love. Thanks for watching and commenting John. I hope every video takes you to the wilderness, even if it's just a little bit. Sincerely, Jay.

Wow. Looking at the terrain, you can tell winter is licking at your heels there. Leaves haven't even started changing here in Toronto, lol. Love the summer/fall series at your camp. Thanks for sharing.
I have most of Stanley’s cook sets. Love them all. I’ll take SS over titanium any day of the week. New spot looks great. A little higher up with a great view but you’ll definitely feel the wind more in the winter. Looking forward to see what you’re going to do there. Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.
Great videos, thank you for sharing. I was wondering if you could add insulation to your roof and siding for the winter months since there is space between the 2x4s to add some, as well as roof. It may be a great way to repurpose styrofoam that your community accrues over time. I’ve seen some use of plastic bottles (dead air space, or filled with shredded styrofoam) and other types of plastic for insulation.
thats gonna be nice man. i got small tarp tent i made wich i install for winter in the forest and i cant wait for snow and freezing temp,,as the path to get there is a giant marsh.
Why don't you make videos of you moving your tent and getting set up on your new place for the winter I think they will be some real cool videos great views and by the way I like your new place that you found
That's a great looking site that you will be taking over. I certainly hope you have an easily accessible trail in the winter for your snowmobile. Moving your tent and belongs over to the new place is going be be a good amount of work. Looking forward to the videos on the process.
Hello Jay, I really enjoy watching your videos and seeing the beautiful country, of Canada. I just hope I can get the chance to visit some day, and see all the places for myself. Stay safe and healthy.
So glad you're back for the fall/winter tent season! I really like the tent you have now but I'm excited to see what the future holds for the new area. Hope you get the lease and can build a cabin, that spot looks amazing and a cabin there would be heaven!! Can't wait to see what you end up doing jay keep up the awesome videos 👍👍

thats gonna be nice man. i got small tarp tent i made wich i install for winter in the forest and i cant wait for snow and freezing temp,,as the path to get there is a giant marsh.
Awesome. Sounds like an adventure that's for sure!
