Press Garden Zone is one of my favorites. It's one of if not the most beautiful looking stages in a 2D Sonic game yet. I love the calm colors and the relaxing music. The only part I don't like is trying to fight the act 2 boss as a single character since it's difficult unless you're playing as Sonic and Tails together.
The Chemical Plant Zone will always be my #1 fav. *Yes the level with the death purple water.* Btw I want to point out that you were mentioning how bad water levels were before Hydrocity, but in my opinion Tidal Tempest is hella underrated in terms for a water level.

My own list: 10. Spring Yard Zone Level design’s a bit rough but I still had fun with it; and it has my favorite song and visuals in the game. 9. Wing Fortress Zone I’ve always enjoyed the triumphant feeling music, and the raising of stakes and difficulty. 8. Chemical Plant Zone I never get tired of almost running off-screen in the speed sections. And the music might be my favorite in the game. 7. Hydrocity Zone (3 and Mania) Essentially the same points you had in the video. 6. Death Egg Zone (Sonic 3) The music of this zone plays in my head consistently, without fail. And the level design always threw me a curveball, but in a way I felt was fitting. The final bosses are probably favorites of mine in the series. 5. Titanic Monarch Zone When I first saw the name of this zone, I legit got chills. And the level itself lives up to the name. I still adore speedrunning the level. 4. Marble Garden Zone This is probably one of the weirder picks (besides spring yard). A lot of people don’t seem to like this level but I personally adore it. It’s one of the more consistently fast and difficult levels for me. And the music is very likely my 2nd favorite in the game. 3. Doomsday Zone This counts as an individual zone right? Like I said, the final boss one of my favorites in the series. And the song is a one of the best in the game imo. I especially love the detail of the song speeding up when you’re under 10 rings. 2. Studiopolis Zone This level is STYLISH. The music is my favorite in the game, and I love the way they handled the visuals. 1. Flying Battery Zone (Sonic 3) This has been my favorite zone of the classics for a long time. I love finding a way to swiftly maneuver around the punishing level design. The music is my favorite in the game, and one of my favorites in the series. I think I enjoy the music better in Sonic 3 than in Mania, because I feel like they added a bit much.

For me not so much what I hate about Ice cap is the swings in act 1 and the spiky iceballs. For my best s3 level it's definitely Launch base its so fast paced and the music is catchy, way better than the other 5 zones before it and carnival night is the worst.

@@chillihog1543 Scrap brain zone is my favourite because act 1 and 2 have epic level design, you can gain speed from flywheels, tubes and conveyor belts and the traps make this level a satifying challenge but the big issue is that the levels in sonic 1 are too short and scrap brain only has 2 acts technically the act that i like the most.

You only need to collect 7 Emeralds to reach Doomsday Zone, The Super Emeralds just makes it more epic. Imagine if this was a Top 30 list of zones & it included GameGear Zones in addition to CD & the Advance Games.
I'm angry that so many people hate scrap brain but I'm happy that every one hates labyrinth. Scrap brain is the best and labyrinth is the worst,scrap brain zone act 3 done terribly.
Sonic Mania is the perfect Sonic game in my opinion. That said, if I could make one change to it, I would replace Lava Reef Zone with Starlight Zone. Both to even out the number of zones represented from each game, and because Starlight Zone really deserved to be represented.

Yeah me too but my favorite zone is Scrap Brain zone, it's faster than marble but slower than green hill, those traps and gimmicks are super cool even though the flames are a little cheap
I think Marble Garden is criminally underrated. In the first act, the drill bot appears as it shakes up the room, leading to the second encounter with it, beating it as it tries to kill you. Immediately after that, act 2 has eggman appearing multiple times throughout the level, building up his boss fight. finally when you meet him, he destroys the level, leaving you floating, resulting in the climactic aerial fight with Tails carrying you. One of my absolute favourite sonic moments. And that's before mentioning the absolute banger of a soundtrack.
When you say that I like marble garden again I like it at first because of the fake spikes then I played it then hated it because the level was too dynamic. The big issue with sonic 3 is that the levels are too large. This reduces their replay value.

The zone's I hate in sonic 3 part 1 are from angel island to carnival night. Ice cap and Launch base are the only good zones in sonic 3 For Sonic 3 and knuckles it's Flying battery, Mushroom hill and Death egg . The rest of the levels in s3k are mediocre, sandopolis isn't terrible either but act 2 can be a nightmare.

Then KNUCKLES appeared, a VERY new Character in the Box Art, it’s like when we look at it, we don’t know who is hiding in grass, but then we play, we may know it is Non-Chukles-Echidna! The game is cool too! It’s so good for a first level, it has some secret rocks that let us go to the higher platform, and it tests our skills on the vine! Wow! THIS IS SO COOL! Then the flame whatever thrower robot ( I forgor it name ) burns the jungle, AH YES! BEST TRANSITION EVER! ( I no talk about mania here ) #3. HydroCity : this is a follow of ANGEL ISLAND! It has us FALLIN’ DOWN THE WATER YES MAN THAT’S COOL! Then we can get rings when fall, and if we choose to explore the place, we can get more rings! I like ice cap so much because I spent like a year trying to get past carnival night. And was rewarded with this. So to this today carnival night is my most hated classic sonic level and ice cap is my favorite classic sonic level. And before you say i suck at games or something i was like 5 or 6 now i can beat eggmanland with an S rank almost every time.
I love all casino/penball levels in sonic I thank that they should make a sonic game that's just like classic sonic games except with pinball slots all though them. And also one of my favorite sonic games of all time is sonic the hedgehog 2 expeshely level 4 the casino level. One classic sonic level that I like just as much as casino levels. is the first level in sonic and knuckle's mushroom hill.

dunno if doomsday zone counts as one but if it does then it's definitely my favorite. that fight was so dramatic and actually made you feel powerful, I know you said that about the end of Mania but even still some of his attacks do damage. in doomsday zone you can smash through meteors and do all you want, you only get stunned and the only threat to you is your ring counter. it was just such a cool climax also i'm surprised you said nothing from CD, stardust speedway was super fun
Sunset Park from Triple Trouble was also fun to play & agreed it's unfortunate Mania's Stardust Speedway wasn't as good as the zone was in CD. Why was there a slow phase in the Metal Sonic Boss fight where you throw RoboSonics at him?
@@LiquaFusion Agreed although they only ever repeated the Metal Sonic Race in 1 game. You have to wonder why Mania chose not to do a Metal Sonic Race? As for Stardust Speedway I agree it was done best in CD. In terms of Metal Sonic fights there have been a few good fights against him over the years like Sonic the Fighters.

YES!!! YES FINALLY!!! FINALLY SOMEONE FEELS EXACTLY LIKE I DO FOR ICE CAP!!! Alright Alright I'll calm down, but for real now I simply ADORE Ice Cap Zone. It is the first and best Ice Zone from Sonic PERIOD. The music just hits you directly in the face and is just a huge eargasm. I could not tell you how much I love Ice Cap, it's my favorite Zone aswell. My only wish is to see it build up again, Mania style. The only Zone I would want back in Mania 2 would be Ice Cap. I'm just so happy that I'm not alone with my love for Ice Cap. The video was great aswell, great work!

The music, if you say it's bad or even forgettable you have no idea what your talking about, in fact I haven't any sonic 3 rerelease without the original theme. the aesthetics, the snowboard. the transition from the more platforming heavy act 1 to the more speed heavy act 2. Mania remake would make it it unbeatable no doubt.
Labyrinth zone should be number 1 because it’s super fun not use sonic main attraction momentum and be in tight spaces where u have to worry about drowning

Marble Garden deserves more love! It's so memorable and fun, especially the boss fight!

Yeah, I don’t hear people talk about Mystic Cave Zone a lot but personally it’s my favorite level from Sonic 2. Also, LETS GO ICE CAAAAAAAP!

@@chillihog1543 Scrap brain zone is my favourite because act 1 and 2 have epic level design, you can gain speed from flywheels, tubes and conveyor belts and the traps make this level a satifying challenge but the big issue is that the levels in sonic 1 are too short and scrap brain only has 2 acts technically the act that i like the most.
@@chillihog1543 Starlight would've gotten 1st place if it was longer, green hill would've gotten 1st place if not for act 3 and plus its kind of boring since it shows up in way too many sonic games, Metropolis is so high on my list due to the steep inclines and bring back elevators, conveyor belts and flywheels from scrap brain, it could been better than scrap brain but the enemy place ment and spikes are an issue, its also 5 times longer than scrap brain.

You only need to collect 7 Emeralds to reach Doomsday Zone, The Super Emeralds just makes it more epic. Imagine if this was a Top 30 list of zones & it included GameGear Zones in addition to CD & the Advance Games.
I'm angry that so many people hate scrap brain but I'm happy that every one hates labyrinth. Scrap brain is the best and labyrinth is the worst,scrap brain zone act 3 done terribly.

Sonic Mania is the perfect Sonic game in my opinion. That said, if I could make one change to it, I would replace Lava Reef Zone with Starlight Zone. Both to even out the number of zones represented from each game, and because Starlight Zone really deserved to be represented.

I would always replay sonic 3 to get to Ice cap just to play it again, all my save files were stuck on launch base. God I love ice cap.
I really like marble zone for the music and atmosphere, I feel it makes up for the mediocre platforming. And it isn’t even is that slow.

Yeah me too but my favorite zone is Scrap Brain zone, it's faster than marble but slower than green hill, those traps and gimmicks are super cool even though the flames are a little cheap
I think Marble Garden is criminally underrated. In the first act, the drill bot appears as it shakes up the room, leading to the second encounter with it, beating it as it tries to kill you. Immediately after that, act 2 has eggman appearing multiple times throughout the level, building up his boss fight. finally when you meet him, he destroys the level, leaving you floating, resulting in the climactic aerial fight with Tails carrying you. One of my absolute favourite sonic moments. And that's before mentioning the absolute banger of a soundtrack.
When you say that I like marble garden again I like it at first because of the fake spikes then I played it then hated it because the level was too dynamic. The big issue with sonic 3 is that the levels are too large. This reduces their replay value.
Starlight is up there for me.

The zone's I hate in sonic 3 part 1 are from angel island to carnival night. Ice cap and Launch base are the only good zones in sonic 3
For Sonic 3 and knuckles it's Flying battery, Mushroom hill and Death egg . The rest of the levels in s3k are mediocre, sandopolis isn't terrible either but act 2 can be a nightmare.

#5. Wacky Workbench : This zone has the BEST song in the entire SONIC CD GAME, HOLY - IT IS SO GOOD! I LOVE THIS SO MUCH, but the kind of bouncin’ things is really annoying, I may upload video beat this level without bouncing lol
#4. Angel Island : Holy crap, I love this zone! The first intro was something new, Sonic on the Tornado with Tails going to Angel Island, then Sonic turns into Super Sonic then falls behind, THEN BLAST THROUGH THE WATER AND THE EFFECT IT JUST AWESOME! Then KNUCKLES appeared, a VERY new Character in the Box Art, it’s like when we look at it, we don’t know who is hiding in grass, but then we play, we may know it is Non-Chukles-Echidna! The game is cool too! It’s so good for a first level, it has some secret rocks that let us go to the higher platform, and it tests our skills on the vine! Wow! THIS IS SO COOL! Then the flame whatever thrower robot ( I forgor it name ) burns the jungle, AH YES! BEST TRANSITION EVER! ( I no talk about mania here )
#3. HydroCity : this is a follow of ANGEL ISLAND! It has us FALLIN’ DOWN THE WATER YES MAN THAT’S COOL! Then we can get rings when fall, and if we choose to explore the place, we can get more rings! Best water level, I don’t like the 1st boss, the 2nd boss, BUT THE MANIA IS FANTASTIC! IT HAS YOU GO UP WATER ( this in 3 & knuckles too ) WE DON’T NEED TO STAY IN WATER LONG! IT HAS SOME PLATFORMS, FANS, AND MORE!!! i love this zone so much!
#2. Ice Cap : Wow this is so cool! IT HAS THE BEST INTRO IN THE ENTIRE 3 & KNUCKLES GAME! WE SNOWBOARD AND IT IS FUN! WE CAN GET RINGS BEFORE STARTING THE LEVEL TOO! WOW THIS CAN’T BE MORE GOOD! Stardust Speedway ( CD and Mania ) both these are so good! It is the BEST speed 2D level! FIGHT ME! YOU DON’T WANT TO DISAGREE RIGHT?! THIS LEVEL IS BEAUTIFUL, I LOVE THE BAD FUTURE, GOOD FUTURE, THE US IS REALLY COOL, IT HAS A STRUCTURE OF EGGMAN IN ACT 2 ( CD and Mania lol ) BUT IN GOOD FUTURE IT ACTUALLY A whatever TALL BEAUTIFUL BUILDING! A PARK RIGHT?
I like ice cap so much because I spent like a year trying to get past carnival night. And was rewarded with this. So to this today carnival night is my most hated classic sonic level and ice cap is my favorite classic sonic level.
And before you say i suck at games or something i was like 5 or 6 now i can beat eggmanland with an S rank almost every time.
I love all casino/penball levels in sonic I thank that they should make a sonic game that's just like classic sonic games except with pinball slots all though them. And also one of my favorite sonic games of all time is sonic the hedgehog 2 expeshely level 4 the casino level. One classic sonic level that I like just as much as casino levels. is the first level in sonic and knuckle's mushroom hill.

dunno if doomsday zone counts as one but if it does then it's definitely my favorite. that fight was so dramatic and actually made you feel powerful, I know you said that about the end of Mania but even still some of his attacks do damage. in doomsday zone you can smash through meteors and do all you want, you only get stunned and the only threat to you is your ring counter. it was just such a cool climax
also i'm surprised you said nothing from CD, stardust speedway was super fun
Sunset Park from Triple Trouble was also fun to play & agreed it's unfortunate Mania's Stardust Speedway wasn't as good as the zone was in CD. Why was there a slow phase in the Metal Sonic Boss fight where you throw RoboSonics at him?

@@LiquaFusion Agreed although they only ever repeated the Metal Sonic Race in 1 game. You have to wonder why Mania chose not to do a Metal Sonic Race? As for Stardust Speedway I agree it was done best in CD. In terms of Metal Sonic fights there have been a few good fights against him over the years like Sonic the Fighters.

Alright Alright I'll calm down, but for real now I simply ADORE Ice Cap Zone.
It is the first and best Ice Zone from Sonic PERIOD.
The music just hits you directly in the face and is just a huge eargasm.
I could not tell you how much I love Ice Cap, it's my favorite Zone aswell.
My only wish is to see it build up again, Mania style.
The only Zone I would want back in Mania 2 would be Ice Cap.

The music, if you say it's bad or even forgettable you have no idea what your talking about, in fact I haven't any sonic 3 rerelease without the original theme. the aesthetics, the snowboard. the transition from the more platforming heavy act 1 to the more speed heavy act 2. Mania remake would make it it unbeatable no doubt.

NOTE: this comment is very long)my list for zones/levels STH1 spring yard, star light, scrap brain(it's fun that's if ur taking the highest/ fastest path) STH2 emerald hill(this zone is so fast pace) I speed ran it and my fastest was 0:28) chemical plant aquatic ruins(it's a 7/10 for me because its this badnick that just POPS out of the middle of no were from a wall and if it wasn't so hard to get to the highest/fastest path other then that its really fun) mistic cave ( that level is actually really great)STHCD stardust speedway( its so fun) STH3&K&K&K&K&K&K&K lol launch base ( i dunno the music is just " GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO" heck they should have made that the sonic x intro) ice cap (it should really be called fire cap because its just fire and i love it ) hydrocity (i..
