Busted water heater. I was so glad to see this as it is the exact camper as I have. I’m just worried about if I have to take out the shower and commode if I have to get to something behind it I haven’t checked out the tubes on that side yet
Enjoyed the video. Looked like a small hornets nest was started near where you were working on the cables. Oh and I can see the last guy who worked on the water tank forgot to close up the tank where he opened it up to remove all the ice from inside it 🤣 - LOL. Nothing duct tape and JB weld can't fix. 😉. Not! Lol
Great Constructed video....I have a 2002 jayco pop up...had to do a quick repair a few years ago...found your video and in the fall i am going to redo all my cables with bigger eye bolts and get ger level on all 4 sides...are the lenght on the ryebolts 4 inchs....do you have a video on canvas replacement?
Just got a dutchman 1003 I'm going to put solid walls on it. I'm wondering if the lift system is worth selling it works good. Thanks for your time enjoyed the video's.
Labor is $720. New cables and eye bolts $100. If there is any rotten floor there will be more labor if any brackets or pulleys are damaged there will be more parts cost.
What size steal tubing did you use for the welding and pulley. I can’t find the exact size, so plan to go a little bigger. Like 1/16 bigger. I don’t see that being an issue, but we will find out.
hello, excellent greetings all your videos very professional! I have fleetwood 2005 in its title, I confess that I am new to this, a rear cable broke or loose and I want to repair you, where do you have your workshop?
Great video! Does the pop up need to be raised to a certain height to replace the cables? Are the cable supposed to have the same tension at all times even when lowered?
It's best to have it pretty close to normal raised height. I don't worry about the amount of tension, just that all 4 corners are the right height. Thanks for watching
You get the cable completely ran through all the pulleys and brackets and pre load it as much as you can. Crimp the ferrule and then cut off the excess. If that is not shown in this video, I have other popup recable videos. Check those out too.
You still have to buy some special tools if you are going to make your own cables. Here is one of my earlier videos where we use a manual crimper. ua-cam.com/video/lHRwh8-Y1q8/v-deo.html
(Do not weld ibolts )cables will break. easier to replace ibolts than a cables that will snap and cause more damage.. from Australia 🇦🇺
Ok
smart idea, thanks Leigh
Great video, water heater burst, no temp/pressure relief.
Nice example of bursting tank must be a northern unit, great video learned some new ways thanks both of you
New popup videos in the works.
“Look, no blood, it’s a miracle” hahaha feels exactly like me lol

Glad my videos are helping you
*Nice seeing the process, I would have never knew how this worked*
It's a pretty ingenious system
Thanks for this help😊
You are welcome.

Yes on the bees nest. Didn't even see it till I was editing. Forgot to close it when he got the ice out, good one Bill.

4 inches sounds about right. The longest ones that Lowes has. No sorry, no canvas replacement videos.

Thanks for watching. I couldn't imagine selling the lift mechanism, but who knows....if you find the right person. Good luck
@@hillbillyrv any idea what it's worth?
@@larainebarton2103 no sorry
If I wanted to replace all the cables and do maintenance, what would the approximate cost of that work be?

where you located do you do repairs?

I don’t remember. I just happened to have some the same size.
@@hillbillyrv Well, followed your video and built the same spring rail. I added the extra steel per your recommendation. Perfect. Thanks for the video
@@petersuhmann7742 Awesome
how is the cable end installed in the lifting metal sticks ? it ends on part 1 and i didnt see where you put the other end in
Watch both episodes. I am pretty sure I show the whole process. I also have another video on the same repair. Watch that video also.
Water heater tank has ruptured from freezing!
Oh YES !!!!!
hello, excellent greetings all your videos very professional! I have fleetwood 2005 in its title, I confess that I am new to this, a rear cable broke or loose and I want to repair you, where do you have your workshop?
Beckley, WV
wow we're not around I'm in Orlando Florida, do you know someone here who does that job?
@@chefedecioluboravelo7982 I am sure there are lots of RV service centers in central FL.
What length eye bolts do you use?
Not sure. I get them at Lowe’s. Probably the longest 5/16 eye bolts they have.
Not all of us are familiar with all your tools or how these things go together (or come apart).
I know...I forget sometimes

How high is it suppose to be? We are having the issue but don’t know how high to set it
How do I figure out how much cable to cut per side?
You get the cable completely ran through all the pulleys and brackets and pre load it as much as you can. Crimp the ferrule and then cut off the excess. If that is not shown in this video, I have other popup recable videos. Check those out too.
@@hillbillyrv how much do I buy at lowes?
@@annamilner4674 Once all the cables are exposed you just kinda measure it and then guess how much you need. Or that is how I do it.
Not everyone has a hydraulic crimper and we wanted to see how you did it hoping you had a method everyone could use.
You still have to buy some special tools if you are going to make your own cables. Here is one of my earlier videos where we use a manual crimper. ua-cam.com/video/lHRwh8-Y1q8/v-deo.html
The hydraulic çrimper is cheaper than the manual crimper 3:54
Looks like a freeze problem!
Freeze Problem?
Where are you located?
WV
@@hillbillyrv What part of West Virginia? I’m considering bringing my pop up to you.

The eyes are not welded so you straighten an eyelet instead of braking a cable.but each to there own
Either way, your vacation is ruined.
Hot water tank looks busted
Just a little. 😁
Busted water heater
Yep....very.
Do you fix for people
This video literally shows me fixing the popup. I don't understand the question.
Water heater froze
You got it Kim
Dude it's better to change an eye bolt than cables. Don't weld shut
Dude they are always spread out, so I weld them shut.
Cameron's a Dude! 🙂
