- San Diego County has a large AAPI community with more than 425,000 people; the 7th largest in the country. While we are united under the AAPI umbrella, we represent many ethnicities from around the world. Each one is woven into the cultural fabric of San Diego.
We begin with a closer look at the history of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and who exactly it honors.

One of my best friends has Indian heritage. He is my brother and also a fellow Englishman. Indian culture has contributed very, very much to human culture!!!
My English great uncle survived the Bataan Death March. I grew up in Point Loma. I have worked with many hard working Filipino people. I appreciate Filipinos very much, and what they have done for the USA, and the UK, and the World, and San Diego!!!
