How To Pour Concrete Floors On and Around Ledge | Basement and Garage

We had to pour the basement floor on a lot of ledge for this house. The garage concrete floor was high enough so the ledge was buried, but there was still quite a bit of rock in the basement.
The owners just wanted to get as much flat area as possible and cover the ledge in poly and concrete. As you can see, we got about 300 square feet of flat floor and that's it. Blasting the ledge out is always an option, but it's really expensive and probably not worth it for these homeowners.
Let me know what you think, would you have paid thousands of dollars to blast out the ledge?

I just realized that you don't have any music in this video. Thank you!
I agree, music isn’t needed, just the sound of work being done is enough.
I love how you guys utilise the additional chutes.
Someone is getting a nice house with you on the flat work, and the foundation guy it's an excellent job
Great job 👍 watching you from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹🇹🇹 in the Caribbean
Poyring concrete up hill wow pure talent.
Geez, you guys get to work in the nicest places. Hope you take the time to enjoy the views
It's like telepathy. The guys just move to the next task without having to communicate. Great crew.
Coming from the UK guys so would love to know what slump of concrete you use there ? And why you don't have a problem with it sliding down the slope? Amazing!, top class
...so peaceful
At the beginning when cement hit the poly is almost you guys activate cruise control mode. Nice work.
It takes a while to get a good crew, nice video Mike
nice, could you guys come to Trinidad and Tobago and show these loooosers how it's done.thank you.🙏🌹🇹🇹🌴♥️🍾
Your crew is badass!
Super crew👏👏
Looks good.
I love that set up, you lose some storage, but work with what you got.
Thanks Mike
Mike was that a pair of Irish setter elk stalkers I saw in the tailgate of your work truck?
I dream about having a crew that works together like a fine tune machine.
Looking for recommendations for a crew in central NH.
Not many contractors pay attention to detail like you.
Hey mike or anyone: does anybody pour a basement floor under the chalk line for any reason ? At least an inch - or is the slab sinking ? 2 year old house....thanks
Could have been a mistaken height line when prepping.
Settling
Realized to late they might run short of concrete, and not able to get another load, drop the grade a bit, to stretch the amount you do have. Not a good solution, but it happens all the time. Better than a patch in the floor the next day.
Wow that was onda e
👍
Is steel really that expensive?
Yes. His area is low earthquake zone. Less rebar needed than California for example
👍✌🏻
Kind of a weird floor
U guys just went right over all that crap in the basement? lol Thats weird
been doing foundations for 30 years and this is the first time I have ever seen someone not take the ledge out to get a flat floor. Must have been kinda hard to figure out concrete.
Your'e the world's greatest concreter./,,pppp
@@jamezrobertz8638 not sure what your comment has to do with anything
Surface area x depth of concrete… not too hard..
@@RectifyTheParadigm No, you know exactly what I mean.
I have a question
I see that the concrete has quite a bit of water added, so if you poured the same excat slab with runny concrete or dryer concrete, will the results still be the same after it hardens ??
