Hi JD, Is it possible that the impulse table is, intentionally, not completely secure until the safety roller is pressed into place? Thereby facilitating the alignment of the impulse jewel and safety roller?
I always enjoyed putting in a new balance staff in and floating and poising it

I did go to the cut on the side stake for the final taping. The other stake was not touching the impulse jewelry, but I did switch.

The roller table is on a part of the balance staff that is independent of the safety roller.
