    Hey Ashley! Thank you so much for this video; very informative. I find that when I do box braids, my edges can get very damaged. I figure it's from me constantly pulling the braids out of my face or pulling them into one. I was wondering if you could share what you do to protect your edges when you have in box braids and what styles you would suggest for someone who does have to keep the hair out of their face when they have them in (that would not harm the edges).

    • @raeloves3
      @raeloves3 7 років тому +2

      Odessa Fernandes I know you're asking her but I feel you can do any style you like..wat I do if I feel watever pulled style I do and I feel too much tension on my edges I'll take each individual braid and just pull it out a relieve that tension..I hope that makes sense and helps

    • @YoursNaturally11
      @YoursNaturally11  7 років тому +9

      Hey Odessa, thanks for watching. First and foremost, always make sure that you suggest to your braider that ALL of your edges stay out of the braids; I find too often that braiders want to put every single strand of hair into a braids, and thats what causes the edges to break. The hair around our hairline is so fragile and simply cant take the constant tugging and pulling. So always makes sure to brush your edges out yourself before having the braider braid you hair. Also, keeping the edges lubricated with oil will help a lot as well; so no matter what style you do, if your edges aren't pulled back into the braids, you should be fine. Hope this helps. :)

    Thanks for this video, it is super helpful!! Could you possibly do a video or post an Instagram of how you prep your hair for braids and how you take them out? I always feel like its a tricky balance between making sure your hair is moisturized enough before getting braids but still not putting in too much product which could result in build up! Thanks again for sharing!

    how do you not get frizz when u apply the cleanser and is it a sub for shampoo

    • @YoursNaturally11
      @YoursNaturally11  7 років тому

      Khenedi Wright since the hair is braided, it just doesn't frizz unless they're older braids and by that point if it creates frizz, I'd rather frizz over itchy, flaky scalp anyway. It's not a sub for shampoo though, it's just a way to keep your scalp clean, smelling good and less itchy.
