To fix that ...who ever does your braides has to get a max hold gel that complements your hair or could even be the type of hair, also wetting the hair a lot can get it frizzy Not saying these are the problems because i wouldn't know but it is suggestions in case one i mentioned is one
Lord have mercy! Braids for 3 months. I'm bored with the hair after 3 weeks , and it itches after a month even with washing every 2 weeks. I guess we all have different hair. It looks good though
This literally just saved me during quarantine, I did your wash routine and then this with no water as recommended. My hair looks so fresh and clean! I am going to see how long the twists last before i have to redo.
THX YOU...I HAVEN'T HAD BRAIDS SINCE JHS IM 34 AND IT WAS LIKE A WHOLE NEW WORLD FOR ME. THE BRAIDERS ARE YOUNGER AND THEIR TECHNIQUE IS WAY DIFFERENT FROM BACK IN THE DAY WHICH EXPLAINS THE PRICE NOW. HOWEVER SITTING IN THE CHAIR FOR 6 HRS WAS NOT MISSED LOL IAM ENJOYING MY BRAIDS GOT THEM JUNE 17TH 2021 AND STARTED WASHING THEM AFTER THE 4TH OF JULY. NOW WATCHING HOW YOU TWIST I WILL ATTEMPT TO A WASHING AND TWIST FOR MY TRIP JULY 30 - AUG 4TH AND THEN JUST TAKE OUT THE BRAIDS FINALLY. I TRULY ENJOYED YOUR VISEOS THANK YOU.
Everyone hair is different , for those who are saying their hair looks like a year old after one month I think it just depends on your hair . My hair is naturally curly so I can put moose on my breads and it lays straight down versus some videos where I see a lot of frizziness from their natural hair on the braids . Everybody braids won’t look like this even if well maintained . Thanks for this video , I love the twisties ❤️🙏
OMG Thank you so much!! I am a foster mom and have two African-American girls. I have done box braids on them, but take them out at the end of the week because I didn't know how to wash and maintain them. This will make doing and maintaining their hair so much easier! Thank you!
I normally keep mine for two months or more for hair growth. My current one is almost three months. Thank you. Needed a way to keep the old braids looking fresh.
I always wash my hair a week after I get my braids in. It’s the dye in the hair that causes your scalp to itch. I hate smelling people’s hair when they they have braids.
Omg thank you I needed this🥰 I’ve had braids in for almost 2 months now and I’ve been not only trying to figure out how to wash but maintain them🥺I watched both ur videos on them and it helped a ton!
Great tips in this video. I've had my braids in for almost a month and I plan on keeping them in for about 2 to maybe 3 months. These tips will definitely help me keep them look fresh. Thank you.
I do this with mine too, the twisting method, it is just like palm twisting a loc, it really does refresh the look and the root. It helps save money too lol and stretches your braid life. Quick fix!
Thank you so much! I am using this on my daughter's braids. She hates when I re-braid the front part of her hair. This is much easier to do, takes so much less time, and looks fantastic! Thanks again!
Awesome video. This will help me with my daughter's (and son... his natural hair is braided). Your hair looked awesome the entire 3 month. Can't wait to see the reveal of how your hair looks now that you've taken out the braids👍
I never knew I needed this 😍 My braids never last long, (okay I take care of them the first 3 day and then I get annoyed... I'll change that) and my hair are completely broken (real hair) so this twisting method seems to pull much on the hair but it's the ideal to maintain the real hair and braid good and healthy together Thank you!
Hey Shanique l just came across yr channel l was literally stak with old braids ad it's e middle of the month 😔 thank you so much this is so helpful ad so simple 👏👏
I love this video!! I usually keep my braids in for a month because after that they look a hot mess. After ur video, I know what to do. Appreciate you!
i'd put on some gel/wax/holding spray and put it on after twisting it up, put on a scarf to hold it down, sit for a while, and then take it off and then it should lay well and fine.
Amazing video and you explained very well. I like that you were about business. I’m so over all of the yelling and screaming. You were authentically yourself. I’m subscribing 💕
So good! My hairline cant handle that type of manipulation but the tips were great! Now if only I could get my hair braider to make my parts as even as yours! Lol
@@ShaniqueBuntyn OMG, you replied! Lol Yes, the other methods were quite informative! I'll probably rebraid but ask my hair braider to start the row like a cornrow for less tension! Thanks Shanique! Happy Holidays!!
This was a very good detailed tip. I wouldn't have thought of anything such as this. This was awesome and very look very easy! I got to share this with my daughter ❤
I'm trying to keep my braids fresh as well I have it corn rolled in front and kocean wave curl I just cleaned it and I have a water based hairspray I use and a silky cap I place on. However before seeing your video I did take out one braid in the back because it literally looks like it's hanging by a thread.but now I'll use your twist method because I'm trying to keep these in for 3 mos, thanks for great advice!!
@@SpiceLifeTVshow it worked. I did one braid with a product (in the back) and the rest I did just sprayed with water. My hair didn't loc or anything. But the one with the product was more dry. So I would just use water. Definitely worked for me 😁
I like your twist method I have had mine up for 16 weeks and I have been trying to maintain until I make it to my next appointment but I think I might have to actually wash my braids because the oil has absorbed in them and it's breaking my face out.
Doing this as I'm watching you. So glad you posted this. I'll be sure to do this next time I install braids cause 4 months is a lil' too late for that 😅(taking them out next week). Thanks again for the video ❤💃🏽
Omg!! thank you so much for this video - I am almost done with my first set of box braids ever, and I was looking for how to do the edges / hairline, but SO thankful for your tip about the shower, I've been wondering how I need to do the shower!!! Your braids look AMAZING, I love the natural looking part/crown area!
I love your voice; with that ever so slight accent(?). You are so well-spoken. I really prefer this type of video, for this type of content. Tried this like u said diffrent hair texture finer hair so might not work so I kept that in mind didnt work my braids are bigger medium size so all I do I add rubber bands to my hair and they look like I got then freshly done people kept saying oh u got your hair redone cause I'm known at my school for always having my hair done lol but yah rubber band method worked alot
Great love this video thank u for sharing my braids are only 31/2 weeks old but I'm definitely going to give this method a try (twisting } your braids look refreshed and nice
My braids come off after 3-4weeks max, not because I want to, but because my hair tangles real tight at the point where the new growth and my braid meets. If I try twisting, my hair locks in.
I’ve had mines up for 4months taking em down next week I just wash em every 2 weeks & no my hair did not lock up they looks good I use edge control to hold em
I see people do the twist method a lot and I want to try, but I’ve always been scared of what happens to the twists during the upcoming weeks/months. Does the twists turn into locs, does the hair grow and the twist undo, would we have to untwist and clean before re-twisting the hair again?
Great video! I’m going to try this with my braids after a month or so. I’m having my braids done the way Shaneice had hers. 😊 Did you have your hair braided on blown out hair or just stretched hair?
finally, someone as obsessed as me !! love this video but with that much regrowth, i would get a retouch....also, i use a no rinse shampoo from Sally's... it is NOT a spray and doesn't flake
The best thing to do is have the first two rows taken down and redone..When I wore braids 15 years ago my stylist always refreshed them this way, in between washings.
