    We have some antique furniture from quarter sawn oak and some from regular sawn,the quarter sawn furniture is stained light to medium while the regular sawn is dark stained to hide grain mismatching,cheaper furniture.

      My Grandpa made a China cabinet around 1934 using quartersawn wild cherry. He used pegs for fasteners and had no power tools. He used the drill that worked like a top with leather straps for the thrust spinners.

    Quarter saw it but also charge more for the extra labor that entails. I would be just fine with that as a buyer.

    I was watching one your videos and u were saying in
    The winter time that the water for the saw mill freezes sometimes! For the lubricant for the blades! U we’re using windexI was going to suggest that putting rubbing alcohol in with the water because rubbing alcohol freezes at -100 degrees u might want to ask Boss Man about it! I don’t know what the alcohol will do to the blade just a suggestion! Take care and keep up the Great Videos!!

    Did the client not want that kiln-dried? For any sort of Red Oaks ( Black, Pin, Willow, etc., ) drying as soon as possible is imperative, in order to arrest mold/fungus.

    • @greywolfwalking6359
      @greywolfwalking6359 Рік тому

      Letting it rest in the kiln,also helps to arrest the check n shake, that this piece could develope...??? Jus sayin 🤷!!

      @@greywolfwalking6359 - Well certainly, that is the primary purpose for the kiln....I was just mentioning a secondary advantage for some species.
