      @ahgcomegaguardian5575 Місяць тому +7

      When you do a full rom with symetrical good technique, you're not lifting too much while controlling the weight, your knees should be ok even while fully locking (unless you have hyper mobility, I guess). I've seen some big powerful guys do it that way, too

    • @ianbrooks4516
      @ianbrooks4516 Місяць тому

      @@ahgcomegaguardian5575 maybe, but its not worth the risk. Its not like you get any real benefit out of locking your knees like that. Much safer and basically just as beneficial to stop just before locking. I’ve seen too many knees bending the wrong way, even on big guys, for that not to be a concern

    • @zemotika
      @zemotika Місяць тому +5

      Yeah those videos you’ve seen- those guys have a hyper mobility or hyper elasticity and that’s what causes that inverse knee bend 💀 If you’re healthy without a weird joint hyper extension predisposition or a previous injury then you can fully lock out and be just fine as long as you’re controlling the weight and using progressive overload … your joints are meant to stack

    He used to train in a basement gym that he would have to walk through snow to get to, just so that he knew while the others were comfortable getting to the gym and using new equipment he was using basic or busted up and rusted up equipment and that he would make them suffer on stage for their comfort with training, that's a whole different mentality, he is the Mike Tyson of weight lifting suffer like you love it. He never had any flashy gimmicks, he wouldn't pose for magazines the way they wanted him to so they just (when they could because he hated the attention and he liked the fa t that his competition had him living in their heads 24/7) had to take photos of him training. Every win he was quiet, and then would just leave and go back to England, no partying, no hanging out with the competitors, he just left, that's why he was known as the shadow. Nothing flashy, he was a machine, get in, got the work done, left. That's why he's still the man.

      @@yane9930 no that was him training on a video on one particular day of his training regiment and lifestyle, that dude lived to be the best with the least. He didn't give a crap about the glits and photoshoots he was there to be the best and that was it, he avoided showing off his muscles even around his friends, he only did that in front on a mirror by himself at home because he had to figure out what and how he was going to shape before a contest. So your comment was rather ill thought out, the guy never cared about the fame, he was and is open about the industry and the dangers he sees in it, and is down to earth, no ego. He essentially did a "Goggins" in the gym before Goggins discovered and used the same technique, but he didn't take it to the level of insanity that Goggins has taken it to.
