Bruce Springsteen, "Backstreets" Piano Cover

- Hey everyone! I'm back in Jersey for a quick family visit. You all know what that means? It's time to polish off another Bruce Springsteen cover! It has been a busy summer of live gigs and studio sessions...it's time to play the music I love most before I go back to being a music professor at USC next week. Here is one of my Bruce favorites, Backstreets. Hope you all enjoy!
For everyone who has ever asked me about sheet music, I have a surprise for you! I did this song a little differently than the others. While I do play by ear, I took a bit of extra time to create some personal notes on my arrangement. I used some shorthand, so it's definitely not an "easy piano" score. If you'd like to take a look at the pdf, visit my personal website (michael arrom dot com) and look for the "Music Notation" tab under my "Services" menu heading. Every song is a gem, not a wasted note on the entire album. The emotion in this song and those intro piano chords are just so damn perfect. I’m absolutely tortured that I can’t play it. Beautiful to hear someone who can.

Seeing the level of work and technical expertise in covering that song makes you appreciate even more the creativity and musical magic of the E Street band. Sadly I doubt we’ll ever get anything that speaks to us like Bruce again.

Years passing by and I always come back to your "Jungleland" cover. You were the reason I restarted playing piano years ago - this time by ear. (Classical training as a child) And I'm so glad I did it. Music tells us more than we are able find the words for.
And now... today... THIS. ...WOW! "Backstreets" is one of my favs and I can't wait to see Bruce live this summer. You made my day once again. Your playing is so inspiring and please come back home again to record the piano once again in the future!

I am a guitar player and a huge Bruce fan for decaded now . I have recently started to dabble on the keys . Getting to know my way around . Watchung you play the songs i have cherished for so long means alot to me and to here the piano isolated just blew me away .Thanks again . Big shoes to fill

I have been playing back a lot of Bruce’s early albums. Going back listening to these albums as a man in his 50’s, I find myself getting a little emotional. This arrangement definitely hits that nerve too. I was in traffic on the 405 the other day and I blasted this in my car. It was a beautiful thing! Thanks, again!

Good luck with your piano practice :) Don't forget to spend some time on piano exercises. They're not fun, but they help give you the building blocks to tackle tougher songs. Spend some time getting to know the Hanon book with a good teacher.
