"I believe there is nothing more autobiographical than a scar, so every time I see the barcode I carved into my skin I read a story of a battle I win every day"
'maybe heaven is not something we need to die to get to'
Mikka Ella I think this every time I see my son. ❤️
Destiny Heath i agree with that statement the only difference is me watching my 4 kids grow
Mikka Ella heaven is a metaphor for an unrealistic ambition to never feel pain and always rest in absolute security.
Destiny Heath Aww💕💕
I just wanted to listen to a dam poem, not fall in love. uuuuuuurgh...
That's always been my problem 😫😫😫
😂😂 I was thinking the same thing
I feel you
+Allison B (Alli-Bee) RIGHT! ugggh
my thoughts exactly, it's the women's nature i guess?
"...A heart the size of a fist that didn't learn to love itself till it gave itself a beating..."
Never in this life have I heard a work of writing so perfectly reflecting a connection to the life I've lived and the story I hope one day tell. This is divine, outstanding work!!
From the moment i saw him i thought he was attractive but as he continued talking he became more and more attractive!!! :) beautilul soul
you should listen to his other poems!!
+Amalia Boura I found his self righteous act a complete facade which got more nauseating as he continued.
+Amalia Boura I found his self righteous act a complete facade which got more nauseating as he continued.
oh well!!
"a righteous heart inside a male body is just a gun with the safety left on" DEEP.
Wow every time I watch one of these poem videos, I think to myself "why even watch another one, none are going to be as good as the last one" and every time I'm wrong. This was simply life changing
Joe Cool And yet, even when you go back to the first, the cycle continues.
"I'm so sick I got depression scared to catch me" was a great line. This poem was amazing
He must be inspired by Rudy Francisco (reminds me so much of his 'Honest Poem')
lol I stopped 15 seconds in looking for a comment like this
+Dominique Sweeney likewise lol
true, like some of the lines are exactly the same...
maybe they had a collaboration of some sort?
and even if this was posted before, maybe they didn't perform according to the dates these were posted
Adam Shaw
Ah, that makes sense, and i completely agree with wanting to be optimistic and giving every option a chance. I understand that i may have come off in an accusing manor, so i apologize about the misunderstanding there.
"I didn't find self love until I gave myself a beating" wowwww
some facts about myself I'm 21 years old
I'm right-handed I hate my middle name
I don't eat goats cheese I still don't
have a driver's license and for as long
as I can remember I've been really into
good ramen and bad puns I believe there
are only two kinds of people in the
world those who admit they've ever peed
in the shower and Liars
I'm not religious my faith in God died
when my godmother did but a few months
ago I saw my nephew's face for the first
time and now I can't help but think that
maybe heaven is not something we need to
die to get to I go to an elite college
which means I know the most profitable
way to ship food from factory to
supermarket but I don't know the middle
names of any of the women who cook my
lunch every day I'm the son of a man who
never misses a home-cooked meal or skips
his dishwashing duties the son of a
woman told me that my name is an
earthquake and waiting she said holds it
in your mouth like the most dangerous
secret this world is yet to know I'm
only five foot eight on a really good
day but being built like a short story
is a lesson in finding other ways to be
the tallest tale in the room I don't
know what it means to be a man and for a
while I thought the weight room could
tell me but I four stories of men with
shotgun barrels for arms who use their
bodies as weapons
I've seen them shoot their mouths off
and leave bullet holes and women's
spirits my sisters say that they raised
me to be a good guy but have a set of
knuckles swollen with the memory of
teeth and blood and I'm still learning
to unlearn my own violence reminded
every day that a righteous heart inside
a male body is just a gun with a safety
left on and I know boys we're still
searching for the manhood inside bottles
bank accounts and between nameless hips
boys who remote-control their partners
because they're not strong enough to let
things go
I know that men carry an addiction to
property in our blood now when I was a
kid I shopped lifted things I didn't
need or want just to feel like there was
something in this world that I could own
I don't know most beautiful thing about
love is that it cannot be owned some
days I'm still the 13 year old stomach
origami folds on itself every
time Laura Stevenson walks past his
lunch table and I don't watch much TV
these days but I'm still a Nickelodeon
kid at heart so if you asked me who
loves orange soda I will tell you I've
broken more of my own bones and promises
in my life and I'm still not sure but
it's been more painful to heal I have a
heart the same size of the fist I didn't
find self-love until I gave myself a
beating but I was the tree that fell in
a forest when no one else was looking
and dared to make a sound
I'm the meal that this thing called
depression has spent seven years trying
to devour from the inside out I'm living
proof that that motherfucker bit off
more than he could chew
I believe there's nothing more
autobiographical than a scar so every
time see there remains the barcodes I've
carved into my skin I read a story of a
battle I win every day I used to wake up
breathless when anxiety was deadly but
now I'm so sick I've got the prescience
scared to catch me I'm both black and
boy which means that I'm the knife that
threatens to slit the neck of silence
and make everything bleed song I am song
I know that nothing can die that cannot
be resurrected by music and that the
dance floor is the safest place to be
during the apocalypse I know all of this
I'm still figuring out how to hold on to
this helium balloon called happiness
they've got charisma down to a science
but most days I still have less
confidence than English weather but I'm
learning everyday what it means to be
human
without being whole every night the sky
opens its mouth and swallows the Sun in
a single gulp just to make room for the
moon it what a wonderful way to live
life to be so full of so much light but
always hungry for more
you
thank you!
Thank you :')
i'm 5'6 so that "Being built like a short story is a lesson in finding other ways to be the tallest tale in the room" hit home!!
Right! That one hit home for me!
I didn't know what part to quote because every line was FUCKING PERFECT.
Am I the only one who's really curious of his middle name?
Nope.
I even true to Google it (nothing came up (lol))
he’s hiding it cause his mom told him to
legend goes no one knows
"Be full of so much light, yet still be hungry for more." Great job bro~
god, I love this guy, and it goes far beyond physical attractiveness - it's something with the way he speaks
"What a wonderful way to live life, to be so full of so much light but always hungry for more".
have you ever had a friendship crush on someone? like you want a hard core platonic friendship with someone? I have a friendship crush on this man.
Honestly
my friend calls those “squishes” lmao
Hot guys + Good Poems. Today was a great day.
same
Hot guys who write are always the worse ones. They’re emotionally unavailable and they’ll break your heart.
I agree😊
xPuffinn 😂😂😂😂
You've given me some hope in overcoming depression, from now on I'm just going to think about being the sky...so full of light but still hungry for more. thank you for this
I came back because it was a year ago this poem was uploaded and I'm still not disappointed
"Now I am so sick, I make depression scared to catch me." *snaps*
I just unliked this video 5yrs later just to like it again. Still brings me to tears ❤
I loved the fact that he didn't make it too dramatic! Superb! I paid attention to what he said instead of his body language.
Where can I sign up to marry this man
Sarah Elizabeth where can I sign up to even just be in his vicinity
I have no words but perfect.
he is my favorite. I can't get enough of him. beautiful.
I loved when he twisted the old," If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it does it make a sound?" Saying❤️
How could anyone with a soul dislike this poem?
He totally listens to Rudy Francisco
But don't we all?
"what a wonderful way to live life to be so full of so much light but always hungry for more you"
This is so peaceful
*Groans* SO good. I want to hear everything you've written.
That was absolutely beautiful and emotional and perfect
I don't know what I'm more in love with him or the poem
Marina
thats my son
I like him, I like this poem. Wow he reminds me of Rudy Fransisco
my heart races everytime i hear his voice
same!!
His poems never fall short. Ever. Amazing. Again, I hear a little Rudy Francisco in this.
"Maybe heaven is not something we need to die to get to."
*shudders*
"..in between nameless hips.."
I loved this part of the poem
I could fall for someone like this
I come back to this every year so and get stuck on replay.... man , the feels.
I love this so much I can't put it to words...
Absolutely speechless. His choice of words and delivery was immaculate 💕
i love how simple his words are but how poetic they make one feel
wow I am blown away this poem and his presentation of it is so beautiful!
Such intellect and power. Much love ❤️
My heart was touched, he was raised with honesty, and with a good mindset even though he fell off along away. Everyone has. His humor with how he write reminds me how real poems are.
The end got me. This was all wonderful but the end made me cry. So very wonderful!
breath taking! gave me chills beginning to end
It was beautiful. Every single word was so perfect and his voice is so soothing, I really loved this poem
I’ve never had the words this beautiful soul speaks, I do have the swollen and scarred body and all the tears! Thank you for this!
Still listen to this regularly 2 years on. Powerful.
he somehow managed to put into words everything I feel, amazing!
it wasn't halfway through this poem I really felt a connection to your words. It was the last couple lines that left me in tears. Beautiful, thank you
Finished the video and let out a "WOW!" Way to go, Tucker.
So. Many. Emotions. Gaaaaahhh!!! I'm crying
I've heard so many poems in my life but this, is by far the best. It touches you where you thought you could always protect. The place you thought nobody new you kept hidden, but we all have that place and you didn't just scrape the surfus. You dug to the very bottom. Congratulations. I hope this piece resonates with people in a similar way it did with me
So beautiful! I was moved to tears!
Absolutely phenomenal. Thank you, Tucker.
Wow, he blew me away.
this gave me chills damn
looooove this and his delivery
amazing, poetry is the power of words, words that make sense and make you think deeply, words that describe emotions, emotions that can't be seen only felt and what's more delightful than trying to imaging a feeling. Creativeness, poetry, art!
I have been looking for this poem for two weeks now... I heard it once before and thought of just how beautiful the line about “maybe heaven is not a place we need to die to get to” was... my niece is now four months old and by that same date I was five months relapse free. I know there’s nothing like a mother’s love for a child but there is a unique bond between aunts/uncles and their nieces/nephews. I personally haven’t experienced anything better. And so now I’m trying to BE better- for her. 💕
I fell in love with the poem and the man behind it too
I love this poem! watched it so many times!
you are a beautiful human. and I long to hear more from you 💖
he is beautiful and a beautiful person and soul and amazing
He has an amazing voice.
Incredible. Thank you for your bravery.
I needed to hear this. Thankyou.
My favourite in such a long time.
I love everything about this poem / video / his performance.
Literally one of my favourites
Its 2017.... I literally watched this video first and watched every other poem he has created because of this piece.
This is so beautiful I shivered a little.
Mentioning about the little things such as how you don't know the middle names of the women who cook your lunch... That's the small thinking that is so much bigger than one can ever portray in poetry or words so that others, on different thought levels, will ever comprehend them. Beautiful...
This hit me so deep, another beautiful poem that I can relate to. Simply amazing
Okay but that was beautiful and so is he.
He's always got great poems.
"What a wonderful way to live life, to be so full and so much light but always hungry for more."
I relate to him so much
This was absolutely amazing.
absolutely amazing, definitely checking out his other poems, truly beautiful
Amazing. I needed to hear this today.
I've listened to this at least 100 times...
THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL
So powerful. You are amazing, so inspiring
being built like a short story is a lesson in being the tallest tale in the room
wow. love it
this is one of those poems where I have to lie down after listening because of how intense the feelings I felt were
This is amazingggg.
This was so amazing I'm replaying it right now haha
I love the writing so much! This poem is so beautiful
"The most beautiful thing about love is that it can not be owned" 💓
That was utterly phenomenal.
The most beautiful thing about love is that it cannot be owned
Crying; that was beautiful
This was amazing! Really connected to it.
This is powerful and I'm not even done.
That was powerful.
