Next year I'll wait much longer before updating to the newest iOS. Also the new Photos app is just crap. They should double test their UX ideas with actual users - totally unusable.
My 13 pro max has been an absolute beast, and even now at 79 battery capacity 😅 because I’m a very heavy user the phone does not give up. But the 15pm and 16pm are both phones I’d upgrade to but considering I’ve kept my phone in such nice condition I’ve decided to run this phone till its last breath. Besides the battery getting old which I obviously can just replace, I do also have screen burn it which is pretty noticeable with the brightness down and in lower light conditions, which is definitely quite annoying

I am not surprised, the 13 Pro still is going strong. After all, the super-tiny sensor size has long ago become the limiting factor for the image quality long ago and post process can only do so much. That’s why I believe, that the next iPhone will not look substantially better either. Is this a bad thing though? No, certainly not.
Coming from a 13 pro max to a 16 pro max. I can 100% confrim the 13 pro max camera is miles head. I have 4 other friends who have also confirmed and compared. Apple is a joke. 48mp vs 12mp and almost 8 times the storage per photo but yet there is less detail. Please take a photo of close up writing etc and see if you experience the horrendous ghosting the 16 pro max has!
I had a 13 pro and I upgraded to a 15pro and I don’t know if you noticed this too. But the iPhone 13 Pro raw has 12 bit color. The iPhone 15 pro raw only has 10. I can’t remember how much exactly but that’s like 2 billion less colors than 12 bit

I own iPhone 13 Pro Max and always been wanting to know how and where does the camera shows its age but not bad at all. Hopefully iPhone 17 will be worth the upgrade. No it ain’t, you either go 13p or 15p. The 14 is just stuck in between, no major differences with the 13p and not as good as 15p especially with the AI features coming to the 15p

This was a HUGE help for me - I’m currently trying to decide between the 14, 15, or 16 pro. The camera is the most important thing to me, I love photography and they seem good enough now to use as a main camera for most people. I’m currently tolerating the iPhone SE(2020) with a shot battery that lasts about a half hour when really using it and a borderline worthless camera. Can’t wait for the upgrade, thanks for helping me decide! Great shots, editing, everything - definitely deserving of a like and sub.
@ You don’t know what I mean, usb c port of iphone 15 pro 16 pro supports 10Gbps speed of transfer. Airdrop is not enough and only support transfer between Apple devices. Prores-LOG is a must if you wanna better and wider color grading.

I have the 13 pro and one thing that has really annoyed me is how much it overprceses some shots. Sometimes i have to use 1-2 frames before the photo (with the live foto feature) in order to get a decent pic.

I still have my iPhone 13 pro max and if I could, I would upgrade in a heartbeat. The only complain I have with my phone is how heavy it is. Apparently its the heaviest iphone ever, so far and it really fucks up my wrist when I'm using it for longer periods of time. I would go for 14 or up.
My wife has the 13 pro and for its usage it still does the job and battery life is still going, takes great pictures. I had the 14 pro but ended up giving it to a family member in need of a new phone so I just got the 15 pro. The 16pro isn’t worth it to me for what it has and the camera button was meh. To be honest I could have kept the 14pro for one more year but in this case I thought it was best to help this family member and just upgrade one year. Btw very informative video, we appreciate your work.
Nice comparison. I have a 13 PM still, and can't say the camera really lets me down. I mostly shoot in ProRaw, and the files still have a lot of latitude. My main beef with it is honestly just how the telephoto lens performs in less-than-idea lighting. I probably use the 3x/77mm lens about as much as the main sensor, so I'm not super interested in an upgrade until that sees a significant improvement. I'd also like to see the HEIC files ease off on the sharpening, or at least have it more configurable without having to shoot in ProRaw.
It's actually a damning indictment of Apple's business strategy, which is to drip-feed hardware improvements each year. Te only thing keeping Apple in the same ballpark, camera-wise, is their computational photography processing. In hardware terms, Android flagships have left Apple way behind. Apple's decision to exclude the iPhone 15 and all iPhone 14 models from any AI features is also pretty disgraceful and a transparent attempt to try and drive up slowing sales, year-on-year. I currently have an iPhone 14P and my next phone will be one of the Android flagships, probably the Vivo X200 Pro.

@@adamcheesepleaseafter 8 years with android (mainly Samsung flagships) I got the 15PM last year and haven’t looked back. Yes, it’s polished. It definitely isn’t bug free but the overall experience imo is ahead of Android. It may take a while to get used to iOS and to be honest iOS 18 helped quite a bit bringing some useful Android features (t9 dialling, pause button when video recording etc). Also, Apple intelligence is implemented in a form of AI that is useful even for those who say they couldn’t care less, I’d highly recommend giving it a go 😊
I just picked up a new 32” 4k HDR Samsung monitor. This was one of the fist videos I got to watch on it! Loved it! 🎉. - That aside, I would’ve liked to see more lower light comparisons. Now a days, most phones are going to do pretty when shooting outside on a nice sunny day. It’s when the sun starts to set or those indoor shots that things start to fall apart quickly.

The real question is, which one was more a more accurate representation of the room?
This video truly made me realize how little apple's camera technology has improved in the last 3 years since I got the 13 pro. Not like the cameras aren't great anyway, but it just goes to show that the cameras aren't really selling points anymore, unless you use them professionally.
Apple has users hypnotised thinking we need the newest phone, this is a great video to show us that we just throw our hard earned money into their pockets for no reason at all. I’m still rocking the 13pro and don’t see any reason to update unless they give us a quality 10x lens
The technology has been so good the past several generations that it is not the device that is limitation, it is the user. The story you tell, your use of light, your composition are what matter. These comparisons are just pixel peeping. Most people look at photographs on a phone screen and tiny differences in resolution, clarity and colour are indiscernible. Only the story and the impact of the photograph matter.
Was thinking of upgrading my IPhone 14 Pro to 16 pro. Not now. Why bother. The only reason I upgrade is for the photography. Thanks for all your work!!
Upgraded from the 13 pro and the 16 pro is a little better and it seems I can push the raws a little harder. It’s mainly relevant to more serious photographers rather than casual amateurs.
Regular non pro iphone 15 and 16 gives even better results than 14/15/16 pro, less oversharpening and overall rendering is more pleasing because it has newer stacked sensor. It is crazy that non pro iphone is better than pro.

I have an iPhone 13 pro - for me the most important thing is the camera and I don't see the point in changing it to a 16 pro

Why i think 14 pro has best sound receiving quality
