In fairness... The questline he's taking is NOT the intended New Player experience. It's literally the opposite. It's the alternate Questline for players who have been at this for 7 years and don't feel like grinding through the introductory quest chain all over again just to level up and it explains that in the screen where you pick your starting zone.
@@Cuestrupaster The same reason Lost Ark makes you grind to 50 before the game begins. No reason other than to waste your time and bloat total player count and amount of time played.

There is a reason why Pearl Aby$$ made this game free to get permanent access once again because so many people leave this game and now they want more player for it. Glad i quit this trash overrated game for FF14, no regret at all even though i already at 296 AP in BDO.
Same, its only when you hit your own personal wall when it comes to the sheer bs of the game does it really sink in how bad the game is in terms of mechanics.
I started a year ago and playing regularly since then, it's honestly a pretty good game with regular updates coming with lots of content compared to other mmo's If you play humbly without complaining about everything that isn't perfect as it is of your "idea of the ideal mmo" then you'll defenitely enjoy it a lot! I played almost everyday the past year and i don't have anything to complain too much about if it's not the lack of pity from RNG, the rest of the game is pretty nice and classes are much more balanced than people pretend to, but it's a hard game and it's much easier to hide behind complains than getting better and understanding classes! It's not less balanced than any other popular game i'm pretty sure. The game is beautiful and has so much to offer to people who just wanna enjoy, just think positively and it might even become ur favourite game!
@@kurohhoku6281 cope, statistic and numbers is fact to all, a free game has less active players than any mmo that’s monthly sub or pay to play? Yes pretty sure it’s a better game lmao. Won’t lie bdo still has the best movement and combat but that’s about it, everything else is just pretty shallow and the gated imbalance rng system is just trashy. No wonder dev is giving away free gears and more ways to enhance since they are losing players, only reason you’re seeing people are online cause they game have some sort of afk play.
25:30 You can jump into the water and swim about 30-40 meters then press LMB on the boat icon to teleport your boat to you. If you're too close to the boat you'll just teleport unto the boat (which also solves the issue he was complaining about earlier). These aren't flaws in the game it's just that some people don't know all the features.
When I decided to try it out, the first thing that was a turnoff for me was the whole UI system. Definitely not the greatest experience to introduce to new players imo.
I felt that with Lost Ark I was looking at the UI and it was like trying to interpret a different language. Maybe I was just spoiled by Wow's simple UI.
Same, tried to play the game 3x, had the same negative experience I had trying to play ToS. Apparently, korean UI designer are only UI designers and not UI/UX designers.
@@cloudwolf3972 you can set up the whole ui by yourself. it has the most freedom in UI design of all games i ever played tho. You just have to find the setting :D

I played bdo with a few mates a few years ago. Had a ton of fun when we were just messing about on a boat doing fishing, exploring, basically just chilling. I think the game is a good environment to hang out with friends. As soon as 2 of my mates wanted us to get higher level gear to do these grind spots and I found out the time I have to put to upgrade a tiny bit I checked out. I don't mind putting time in but killing groups of mobs solo was mind numbing. So he is right it's a nice game if you want to just mess about in it
He's missing the point of the new starter area. It's meant to level the character to lvl 55/56 through a storyline. The 3 combat encounters are meant to just give you a taste of the combat system in the game.
@@kokocaptainqc the issue is that he didnt read that the moutain of eternal winter questline literally says it is for returning players. Its meant to be a quick branching point so you can catch up on events and quickly level a new character to 56 without having to spend all day going through the old msq. Its ment to speedrun you to the fun
So the New start was made to be more cinematic and lore heavy. I think it's very apparent that the focus was not on combat but with new ways they are trying to deliver and present the story. Added more cutscenes, included the player character in the cutscene, Not just giving one character info dump and you "investigating" alot more, That Stealth mission the video mentioned. A lot of the effort was put to make it more immersive.
Yeah he literally kept calling the new zone “the new player experience” even though it’s literally for veterans lol. The whole point was to show how lore presentation has changed from what veterans were used to. Him not reading a single sentence led to his entire video being misleading.

It's always the classic *Spams R* "The story is being very boring so far". Not reading the story and complaning that the story focused content is not being fun
BDO is the kind of game you go back to every now and then to see what's new. You then level up a character to the current soft cap and stop when it becomes grindy. Then you take a break for months or even years and repeat it eventually. That is all there is to this game, you come and go and take it in bursts.
It's fun for the first 100 or so hours since the combat system is fun and playing with friends is easy. The issue is you hit THE WALL. All of a sudden progression takes 10x then 100x then more than 1000x times longer as the chances for failure FAR outweigh the chance of success for gear upgrades. And when you do fail your equipment either breaks losing it forever or de levels
@@freedomarts I would tend to agree since I hate pay to win but even without it the grind is truly arduous. Like building up billions of silver just to watch it vanish when trying to upgrade accessories with tiny chance for success and very likely to either break or if you have the currency and luck, go down in level. It is all funneled into the p2w structure though and if it wasn't there I'm sure the grind would have been design far more tolerable

@@freedomarts Others bypass the system with money? Are you fucking kidding me? I've been playing since 2014, I've been in guilds and made friends from the noob that got a tet tungrad necklace at level 10 from a shakatu box, to people who spent thousands and had worse gear than your average player. Grinding and spending money are somewhat equal, you can either work 1h and buy costumes to sell or grind 1h and get the same amount of silver. There's plenty of people who spent over 10k USD on the game and have mediocre gear. The REAL bad thing is RNG. Either you're lucky and get in 10 seconds what others get in months, or grind for a few hundread hours.
Yep, the enhancement system and grind is what makes a vast majority of players quit the game. I've been playing since 2016 and there certainly is a wall that everyone hits where they make the decision to either stay with the game or to quit. If you're still bothered by an enhancement failing by the time you start working on TET/PEN accessories or Blackstar, you'll probably quit very early on. If you don't really care anymore and just expect it to fail, theres a good chance you'll keep playing.
My brother plays Star Trek Online and he said a lady in his guild spends $400 to $500 dollars a day. He knows this cause you get loot boxes when anyone spends money. He said she also sucks at the game.
I once played a mobile game that had similar mechanics. People become addicted to spending money because of the reaction they get from the other players. They get placed on a pedestal and worshipped in game because of the 'free' items their guild mates get. It's a shame when looking from the outside in but if they're having fun who are we to judge lol
What MMO looks better than BDO in 2022? ESO? FF14RR, Albion, Lineage II, Lost Ark? What kills BDO is the gear enhancement system which is downright unforgiving and the lack of story with characters you care about. Lazy Peon is just trolling for views. BDO is far from dead and is still one of the best MMOs out right now.
not only that, but how repetitive EVERYTHING IS, you cant avoid a repetitive activity in that game, the lack of variety and again, no way to show your progress makes the game, without reason
The new questline is literally for veterans to jump start their new character to lvl 58 by simply doing the questline. It even warned you at the beginning that it's not for new players as it breaks the sequence of the main story progression and won't make any sense if you haven't played through the story. That being said, BDO is still the king of 3rd-person combat, chill life skill jobs, and character creation customization. But sadly, unlike other MMOs, BDO is very stagnant and very slow at releasing updates to the point where the game feels like it's abandoned. PvP balance changes are pretty much non-existant with overturned class staying in live server for months.
I personally LOVE BDO. I feel like a lot of players forget about the variety of things you can do. It’s not just about levelling up your gear and your main level. It’s also about the Storyline, the world, the Life skills you can train. It has so many unique aspects that make it absolutely fun to play.
Life skills are literally grinding but instead of the cool combat you do 2005 looking gathering, afk cooking, afk fishing or afk anything. You can't craft anything of value like some other games that can give you really good gear that you need. Story is mediocre if not less than that, objectively speaking. No dungeons, no raids, no interesting endgame content and the pvp literally doesn't work. Lmao.
@@Esotericspirits it's just hard to get into, with all the other games out right now, I don't have it in me to spend all my time in BDO. Well, different strokes for different folks i guess lol

As a veteran of the game who has had a lot of friend try it themselves, they tell me the same thing. There's a LOT to actually do in the game and the pop ups and alerts being on by default is bad design. It quickly overwhelms someone not familiar with the game while they're trying to figure out the UI and how to actually just play the game with any sense of direction. When someone I know tries the game for the first time, the first thing we do when they log in is go into their settings to turn all that shit off.
I dropped a bit over 300 hrs in BDO, and I enjoyed it, albeit I really only did pve, Life skills and economy. Personally I'm satisfied with my results, since I only cared about character cosmetics and playing the market. I got like 7 characters all with premium outfits that you could buy on the player market. 2 nicely furnished houses with premium items the game drops occasionally. And so many unique pets. Also dream horses dropped in prices by a ton when Lost Ark came out, and I saved myself the hassle and grind and bought one. It's a nice little time sink if you got nothing to do/play.

This game is great and can be insanely fun, even aside from the amazing combat. But it has a ton of bad design features, as it's a grindy Korean MMO with P2W aspects. That being said you can play it 1000% free and have one of the best MMO experiences out there if you're smart and don't listen to all the negative people talking about the game from 3 years ago. And once you find a good guild, it's worth your while to log on daily even if you do nothing aside from sit in Velia harbor and spam guild chat. I'm at the point now where I do zero grinding, zero lifeskilling, and basically only get my money from world bosses and weekly Dark Rifts and I'm still able to save up the money and resources to work on gear upgrades. If you're a new player considering the game, pick a class that looks fun to you (don't stress about which is "strong"), hop on a seasonal server and enjoy the world. With minimal effort and a ton of fun you can be in "softcap" Tuvala gear, and if you don't like the game, no sweat you don't have to continue playing it. But for me the best "feature" of this game is that you can do something completely different almost every single time you log on the game and still be making progress for your account or gear upgrades.

On top of the free pens they give to new players. Pretty much all other korean mmos I've played let you or make you p2w way harder. Exactly.. I found a good guild 4 years ago and that's probably still why I play.. a mmorpg is only as good as the players you play it with.. You don't need to p2w at all. same thing that happened to me with BDO is happening with Lost Ark. Really enjoyed the games combat and asthetics for about the first 500-600 hours before i began to be turned off by the systems that are all obviously designed to funnel you into the cash shop, if im going to get fucked id rather do so willingly than some company tryna slip it in every now and then when im not thinking clearly.
@@Esotericspirits unfortunately true, but it is also a system they use to drag out the content and people who pay extreme amounts of money in these games consume content far faster than new content is released and are left with nothing more to do. In BDO for example, many of the big spenders tend to end up quitting the game because there is no new objective to work towards for them.
Obviously designed to funnel you into the cash shop in lost ark? Besides paying for the ark pass and some coomer skins, I haven't paid a single dollar for honing in 1500 hours.
I think at this point the majority of gamers can understand the usual cookie cutter grind that we see in MMO's. Now if companies would put some damn effort into making new, innovative ways to incorporate grind with fun gameplay and good flow mechanics. I was 100% turned off by the Auto/AFK nature of BDO. Fancy graphics and animations but under the hood its just a stock copy and paste.
Every time i think about playing BDO again I ask myself what is the end goal and then dont log in. Still if this game had a more traditional gear treadmill and actual dungeons/raids it would be HUGE.
@@tarb1320 I havent done the dungeons, but world bosses give good stuff if youre lucky. Theyre meant to be done regularly, but for someone new its an easy way to get silver. Garmoth gives a heart thats worth billions as its best drop, and sometimes a dragon pet. Vell gives a heart worth billions of silver too, but both are rare. You can use the auras from bosses like Kzarka to get a free weapon box after getting 100 auras, and those are useful after that because they give memory fragments or you can use them in the PEN quests. If you didnt know, theres a way to get PENs without RNG now. It still costs silver, but its less than buying PENs off the marketplace since you can grind out the materials for it easier. You can get the quest from Jetina, an NPC in most cities. Id also recommend setting up nodes for afk income, when you have the time to look into nodes. Honestly, i hardly play the game anymore besides logging in and afking for awhile. Ive made gains despite that due to how i set up some things like afk nodes, and usually i grind a bit during seasonal servers to try a new class. About to hit 281 kutum AP despite the fact I stopped enhancing for PEN. Enhancing is just a trap now if youre not going for Blackstar or Fallen God gear.

So did neither him nor his editor mention that seasons are a thing in BDO that help new players progress EXTREMLY quickly. And they SUPER buffed grind spots, you can make the same in a an hour that would have taken you 4-5 back then. The progression curve is kinda "destroyed" in a sense and as a veteran player i think its for the better. Been seeing alot of new players lately while i have had MANY bad exp in this game, the good outwight the bad by a lard margin. So many friends and good times in NW and pvp. You can EASILY grind to like full tet gear in VERY little time not even half the time of before. Not defending the game because it has MANY flaws, but its taking MAJOR steps in the right direction atm.

As a new player I will say I’ve been enjoying BDO, and I also enjoy the other big titles. About 150 hours in now. The best option is to give a game a chance and see if you’re willing to sink hours into it. As a casual I don’t feel the need to reach the peak levels nor put money into the game. I’m obviously not going to spend hundreds of hours grinding so I can upgrade one item. Why even waste your time. I’ll just do other cool shit in the game or just play something else. In short, play what you want to play and don’t be pressured by others opinions.
Dude! you have 150 hrs in BDO you are literally on the character creation screen, talk about enjoyment when you actually log 700 + hours, then you'll either be a hardcore non controllable addict or a salty gamer that has seen a fair share of the hard flaws of the game.
Honestly, if you wanna play BDO for fun just play on a private server. They're usually a bit behind on updates, but make up for it by reducing the bullshit rng and making the game less p2w than the retail version, since you just get the premium currency for free. That also means you get access to all cosmetics and outfits from the shop for free.
to be honest, when i play that class, i never even consider to just running, or even autorun to get from one place to another cause she literally can fly to cover some distances just by pressing double space. And that's not the only movement skill she have. So basically I can combine some movement skills in one go to travel even further and keep doing it until my stamina runs out. And that's what makes it fun for me at least. And since I realized that it took me several hundreds of hours for me to just complete the msq from ARR to SHB, I just rapidly pressing R for this one, and surprisingly, it took me only couple of hours to reach level 56 form level 1, which i can take the succession spec of her and took the succession quest. Sadly I have to delete her midway cause i just realises that i can only play one char per season and i don't really like playing female characters so i replaced her with musa. Yeah, im that type of guy who prefers immersing at the alternate world as the best version of me. And yeah, i don't mind grinding.. and also i just realized too that i can ask someone to a duel to take spots whenever someone tries to interrupts your rotation spots
@@dikoricamora yeah indeed, it's a bit loss for me because of that, but personally i feel that playing musa is more enjoyable than drakania, and because i wanna stay as long as possible in the season server and take advantage of grinding there without being worrying on getting pked by other players because of grindspots. Mostly in season server people would just move to another spots to rotate and not worrying about that, and even if we wanted to duel, we have the same capped gears so it only comes down to our own skills. And imma casual player so for me it took around 2 weeks to maxed out all tuv gear because i only played around two-three hours a day due to my work. And yeah, to me playing female char makes me kinda weird because i can't somehow immerse with the world, and the class is kinda slow compared to succ musa. If i wanted to use fughar timepiece, i rather used it on drakania. Tbh i have the item tho from my first char on last season which is a sage, but u know that sage is nerfed down six feet under, so unless the sage has a high capped gears, it can't be even consider to compete.. and my gs doesn't even touch 600 yet. That's why im changing my main to succ musa and so far im lovin it haha

I always miss one Point when i see BDO Vidoes like this. Im Playing the game for 5 years in the past i played for over 18 years mmos startet with Eve Online in 2003. BDO is a Hobby and was every Cent worth in this Time for me. The Point why im playing this Game so long is the closed Market, this Game have Features that no other MMO have. "No Bots No Gold Seller". When u Pay u give the money "only" to the Publisher and every Week u get new Content. So u have currently two Ways of MMOS (Sure some ppl dont pay but the most pay money) : 1. Pay third Party Websides Money to get Gold but the Money doesnt go to the Publisher and u get lower Content and destroy the Economy + Bots like in Lost Ark for Example. 2. "Closed Market" u cant Trade u cant Buy Gold on third Party Websides u can get higher progress when u pay the Publisher and they have money to creat Content for u. Bouth of this 2 Ways are more or less P2W but what do u think is the better Way? In my Opinion this is the best Concept in a MMO.
When he was talking about that girl all I could think was "did you rub my lamp, did you wake me up, did you bring me here and now all of a sudden you're walking out on me? I don't think so, you're getting your wishes so sit down!"
Gotta love how he complains about mashing the R for 1hr but loved mashing that G for 15hs in Lost Ark. At least he didnt call it a "review" because this is just disingenuous.
He never said he loved mashing g in lost ark, quite the opposite. He said questing was the worst part of lost ark and that he almost quit until he reached endgame
BDO is one of those games where you go like "man I wanna replay this so bad, the game looked so cool, maybe I just didn't give it enough of a chance"... then you got back for just a few minutes and be like "yep, now I remember why I stoped playing".
Tried it ages ago. Character creator was cool. The combat was all flash with minimal substance. It was so grindy I just said whatever about the 20 bucks I dropped.

I haven't played BDO in years, in fact I don't even play games anymore, however I played BDO during a time in my life I was incredibly depressed, and one thing I can say is I've NEVER felt so immersed in a game as I had in BDO. Mindlessly grinding was actually extremely calming to me, combos felt rewarding and it wasn't something I had to waste brainpower on. Running through the zones felt felt very immersive especially with the music on, the landscape was beautiful. For some reason sitting in Velia was some of my best memories. I thought the ocean was fricking cool and lowkey scared me a bit. Basically what i'm saying is, despite me sucking D at the game and raging over my failed TET attempts, I don't think it's right to completely step all over this game as a joke because I think it scratches an itch that absolutely no other MMO can come close to. Just my unwanted 2 cents :)
Yup, it was like stepping into another world. One where you are still a slave to capitalism. I quit when I realized I was working a 9-5 in a virtual world.
BDO is a good game that needs Dungeons and Raids. I love the combat and can go farm mobs just for fun. The auction houses seem overly complicated and I have never felt motivated to figure out that side of the game. I wish there was more to do with groups outside of PvP. it needs better questing, and the story is not interesting at all. One of the best action combat systems out there. Some one should take some of that action combat and port it in to a World of Warcraft 2.0. I would like to play an Orc warrior with great graphics and phenomenal dynamic combat.
These PvP centered games always decline, it's why Lost Ark was so hyped as it was cause the PvE content was beefy and if you wanted PvP it was there too. Black Desert had only the literal race to get to PvP but the people that paid to get there already had the upper hand and catching up to them was impossible without paying. Fuck that, better games to play.
I had that issue with an ex, begged me to play the same game as her until I was 10x better then she quit and never wanted to play again and i was confused why i even started.
I love the new zone. Never spend a penny on the game. 1600 hours and counting. Considering that half of those hours were AFK, it's not a long time. I like the game and I'm not a sick addict, I guess that's why I enjoy it.
Some people still play and enjoy Fortnite and *Fallout 76* Your personal interests and anecdotal experiences are fine. You have the right to enjoy any game you want, no matter how good or terrible it is. No one can stop you from playing the games you want to play. At the end of the day, facts are laid bare to us all no matter what we believe in and your personal interests do not change these facts.
@@flawlessvic Not really, they give away the game every other month or so. Also, beyond the fact that the game is p2w, the new arenas have a standardized gear and you cannot use your own gear. So they all have the same gear. This makes it much more balanced. I like the game and I appreciate the positive but I also have to mention the negatives, pvp still "balanced", seems like fucking garbage to me. But if you like to do Life and chill, this game is for you. If you want to do pvp, Pick the best classes for it and you'll be much better off than trying to win an arena or two with classes that aren't good. Create a Musa or warrior, lvl up to 60-61 (6-8 hours max) and you're ready to do 3v3 with a good chance of winning. Even if it's bad, you will have a great time.
Each MMO has to have it's own spam key to skip dialogue. We can´t have the player dig a hole through the key. Literally my keyboard already has holes in some keys after intensive use. Namely shift and ctrl.
Ultimately the people who are saying theyve tried it and didnt like it. I have a thing or 2 to share with you guys. I was at the point where you guys were. I quit for 1 whole year and told myself maybe i should try it one more time. Once i found the love for it it never got old for me. Although a break or 2 is good. I do highly suggest playing the game weather its for PVE or PVP. PVP scene is great if ur a hardcore try hard. If ur a casual PVPer do some RBF's. If ur a hardcore grinder grind some hours in and save up that silver in the game to buy ur Pen armor or accessory. You will eventually get it all rather than gambling it i promise. PVP has never felt so good and competitive like BDO does. i've put 12k hours in the game. This game will last forever. AND SLOWLY reworking on old and new content. PA does deliver and listens to the public on fixes / nerfs / buffs. YALL GOT TO TRUST THE PROCESS ! Have some fken fun bro this game will be here forever
plus they've added a way to get full pen boss gear through daily/weekly quests and material gathering, as well as a pen yellow accessory without any rng upgrade involved.
Same here, I played for a week and /quit, after 3 months I came back with some friends and got past the first grind wall(lv 56 / 1.6k skill points), and the game changes completely. That was 4 years ago and 15k playing hours behind(at least half doing some stuff afk of course). This game has the best combat and PVP in the genre by miles, and for those who complain about the balance, they just don't really know how to play, the learning curve of the combat in BDO is a lot different from other games, you really need to put some time to master your class and develop muscular memory for transitions. You can play this game for years without really knowing your class.
I understand that backwards progress bit fully, which is why you just need to choose not to go down the routes that have backwards progress in them. Most people that have been playing long enough have learned how to use the systems to avoid going backwards. Example; instead of enhancing your gear you're wearing, with what we call "raw tapping" which is essentially unprotected enhancing, you make a second piece of gear. While yes, it can downgraded, or get deleted if its an accessory, since its not your main gear you're not losing anything AND you're technically gaining fail stacks on whatever stack you used. The concept is simple and I, as many others, have been using it for years now. Negative progress is a sin. lol. That kind of shit needs to be removed from BDO ASAFP but it never will be. It has caused so many people to quit. I've seen it so many times. People spend stupid amounts of time, money and silver to avoid negative progress in BDO and the dev's rake in the cash because of it. I continue to play the game because there's enjoyment to be found in it, but I completely understand when people quit because of the lack of content, or problems with the game, or negative progression just chewing up their gear and spitting out shit. Its disheartening to see days, weeks or months of work go into a single upgrade and for it to fail and the player be left with nothing to show for it. I just stopped caring about fails, and in turn, successes on that shit, and found ways to have fun with friends in the game. That's what BDO is really about. Even just having a small group of friends to fuck around with can make this game so much better. Just last night me and 3 of my guild members went on the PvP server to just fuck around with anyone we found. We ran into someone that severely out-geared us, but we kept at it and found ways to have fun. Dudes class is ridiculous imo, but it was still fun to just fuck around and let loose. Can't focus on the bad, gotta try to find the good. Then again, that can be said for all MMO's. Nothing is perfect and people focus too hard on the bad shit whilst not allowing themselves to have fun with the good. That said, BDO is a terrible fucking game, I fucking hate a lot of it, its riddled with problems like pop-in, low texture loading on even high end PC's, literally the worst fucking class balancing system(Like.. why the fuck are Berserker's still dealing 104% to 118.5% damage to EVERY CLASS INCLUDING THEMSELVES with 4 giant self-heals, nearly fully protected during almost everything they do, MULTIPLE GRABS THEY DON'T EVEN NEED TO USE because they have so much fucking utility, meanwhile almost every other class has modifiers that are below 100% for every class??? KEKW), but there's also a lot that I like. The example TheLazyPeon gave about it being a toxic relationship is so fucking true. xD I'd never recommend this game to anyone, but if people wanna play, my guild is always recruiting :P
This is the only MMO that genuinely took me a solid year just to learn some of the basic mechanics. Even now, I don’t know what half the shit in the ui does because it’s so convoluted for no damn reason. It turns off so many new players
(I know this a year late... but 8:52 if you feel like the graphics aren't really nice, you might be in windowed-fullscreen mode. I had the same thought, and after switching to just fullscreen mode everything became 10x sharper/cleaner. Don't know why that is a thing, but it's a thing.
What I don't get with these new players is that they play the game and don't mess with the settings then complain about the U,I and making the game look like a total mobile game while playing zoomed in and having the effects all on with camera shake. Also the new area is recommended for Veteran players. The game is slowly made to be beginner friendly, but they need to wait after doing quest and start getting the gears so experience the game.
@@mateo10734 I mean, no really other MMOs but I do like the grind, i grind for the gears not much about the end game. BDO is not good for end-game material. I recommend if you want to get geared and do some pvp
@@Jannerius yea that’s what had drawn me towards BDO to begin with but I feel kinda wary because of people talking about how unbalanced pvp is. But then again, what MMO pvp isnt?
Easily the best combat in an MMO and the graphics/character creation are also amazing. The game is plagued with problems but the guy making this video never mentioned Seasons or the fact that he began the game with its (Veteran only start) quest-line. Honestly no MMO is perfect and it sucks to say that
Disagree. The combat is bad unless you're doing PVP. Yes, the characters can chain together attacks and skills and do amazing movements and combos and pull off some crazy shit like bending the game world to your will or slide around like you're the flash and all that. BUT all of that is pointless when all the PVE enemies you get to fight act like they're training dummy. You can barely interact with them and they rarely fight back. They just stand still waiting to die, all while your character glide around slashing or bombing random shits in the 100m radius. Tried it, got bored of it in like 3 days. Doesn't help that the localization pretty much rendered dialogue non-existance (machine translation). If you want to try really good combat in MMOs, try Vindictus. That game plays similar to Souls game, hell, even Elden Ring, but your character has build-in combos and is stronger than the enemies already. The only problem I have with Vindictus is that it's far too genderlocked.
In fairness... The questline he's taking is NOT the intended New Player experience. It's literally the opposite. It's the alternate Questline for players who have been at this for 7 years and don't feel like grinding through the introductory quest chain all over again just to level up and it explains that in the screen where you pick your starting zone.
You think he read the explanation?

I played almost everyday the past year and i don't have anything to complain too much about if it's not the lack of pity from RNG, the rest of the game is pretty nice and classes are much more balanced than people pretend to, but it's a hard game and it's much easier to hide behind complains than getting better and understanding classes! It's not less balanced than any other popular game i'm pretty sure.

He's missing the point of the new starter area. It's meant to level the character to lvl 55/56 through a storyline. The 3 combat encounters are meant to just give you a taste of the combat system in the game.
cant imagine how anyone would think its fun
@@kokocaptainqc the issue is that he didnt read that the moutain of eternal winter questline literally says it is for returning players. Its meant to be a quick branching point so you can catch up on events and quickly level a new character to 56 without having to spend all day going through the old msq. Its ment to speedrun you to the fun
It's like it's called a story quest for a reason cause it follows a story and wants to involve you in the story by giving you information and etc

The game needs fucking raids

Another video of LazyPeon being completely clueless
Agreed
The new questline is literally for veterans to jump start their new character to lvl 58 by simply doing the questline. It even warned you at the beginning that it's not for new players as it breaks the sequence of the main story progression and won't make any sense if you haven't played through the story. That being said, BDO is still the king of 3rd-person combat, chill life skill jobs, and character creation customization. But sadly, unlike other MMOs, BDO is very stagnant and very slow at releasing updates to the point where the game feels like it's abandoned. PvP balance changes are pretty much non-existant with overturned class staying in live server for months.

Nah the game is a joke. Pay to win and even greedier than ZOS and blizzard
insanely based n actually fair. ppl give bdo way too much shit to cover their guilt of spending hundreds of dollars for nothing. i play bdo f2p mostly, max $40 for 2 outfits not obtainable off the market, n its incredibly fun to play still. im inn end game doing an hr grind gyfin w a friend, relaxing bit of lifeskilling, n spamming guild chat. its not for everyone ig but its still fun asf.
@@soothing_de4th863 Lol, when did you last play it? BDO has many issues, but p2w is very mild. Sure you can buy costumes and sell them or melt them for crons. But why the hell would you, when an hour at orcs is a bit under or even above 1 billion silver and pen gear costs like 7-12 billion per piece these days. On top of the free pens they give to new players.
Pretty much all other korean mmos I've played let you or make you p2w way harder. And yes, that includes lost ark, where spending real money actually does get you something that f2p can't easily achieve.
Exactly.. I found a good guild 4 years ago and that's probably still why I play.. a mmorpg is only as good as the players you play it with.. You don't need to p2w at all. Some people love to chill and grind after a long day of work. Just kill some monsters. make some profits ect.. or just log in and pvp on arsha or do some rbfs or battle arena

BDO is still my main, although I run my Lost Ark toons through their dungeons each day.
same thing that happened to me with BDO is happening with Lost Ark.
Couldn't agree with you more...
Obviously designed to funnel you into the cash shop in lost ark? Besides paying for the ark pass and some coomer skins, I haven't paid a single dollar for honing in 1500 hours.
Honestly every MMO is a grind, just got to find the type of grind that you want.
@@GeorgeNoX totally agree about putting in the time, no issue with that. What dungeons are there and what are the rewards from bosses?
@@tarb1320
I havent done the dungeons, but world bosses give good stuff if youre lucky.
20:28 You dont even need to take rewards into your inventory until you really need them. And generally you can use the centralmarket storage as a 'global' storage cuz you can access it from every city your currently are. gege
And how much time took them to implement that and since then updates stopped no optimizations implemented made 2 more rng slots a dungeon that all stopped going after the first week of release cause no one gave a fuck, BS gear more like bullshit gear cause GL going far past Tri on that shit and a new classs that is a recycled DK.
@@garouchieflol Getting a piece of Blackstar gear to TET isn't hard, even as a casual player... The last year or so now, I've been playing the game very casually compared to how I used to play and I have mainhand and awakening BS at PEN.. @@Animo2006 and you think i havent played the game or used the free stuff they give away? ive been there game sucks ass if it didnt ez talked everywhere and everytime but it doesnt is an average game with an average player base cause devs focus on random stuff instead of the stuff that makes the game better.

20:55 "I don't like backwards progress." That's the nature of RNG. Which is why you take precautions. If you're trying to enhance an accessory to TET and it blows up, you need to have a backup. If you don't, then yeah you will have backwards progress. Which is why I take enhancing very slowly, or just buy enhanced gear.

BRUH .... BDO is the Superior to lost arc!!!!!
Everyone started BDO with this mindset unironically ended up regret their decision on their life.
Including me
Honestly, if you wanna play BDO for fun just play on a private server. They're usually a bit behind on updates, but make up for it by reducing the bullshit rng and making the game less p2w than the retail version, since you just get the premium currency for free. That also means you get access to all cosmetics and outfits from the shop for free.

@@tsunamie1015 that is like play with hacks in the sims.
This guy knows so little about BDO that it makes me wanna cry.
to be honest, when i play that class, i never even consider to just running, or even autorun to get from one place to another cause she literally can fly to cover some distances just by pressing double space. And yeah, i don't mind grinding.. and also i just realized too that i can ask someone to a duel to take spots whenever someone tries to interrupts your rotation spots
that sucks u can just use timepiece and share the same lvls and skill points to your musa. unless you dont have another character slot

So u have currently two Ways of MMOS (Sure some ppl dont pay but the most pay money) :
"It's the first time you've ever seen a flower pot like it." 🤣
The video is not 100% honest and still lies about p2w but it was funny. Haha

@@mthlily You're not necessarily wrong about that but my point still stands lol

"She has the power of dragons inside of her"

I had that issue with an ex, begged me to play the same game as her until I was 10x better then she quit and never wanted to play again and i was confused why i even started.
I love the new zone. Never spend a penny on the game. 1600 hours and counting. Considering that half of those hours were AFK, it's not a long time. I like the game and I'm not a sick addict, I guess that's why I enjoy it.
Some people still play and enjoy Fortnite and *Fallout 76*
Your personal interests and anecdotal experiences are fine.
Failing honing/enchantments in Lost Ark isn't backwards progress when you don't have to farm for the gold spent. ;)
I know you play bdo cause you complained about zerker lol
Dude the our character part had me dying.
You would recommend bro?
@@mateo10734 I mean, no really other MMOs but I do like the grind, i grind for the gears not much about the end game. BDO is not good for end-game material. I recommend if you want to get geared and do some pvp

Easily the best combat in an MMO and the graphics/character creation are also amazing. The game is plagued with problems but the guy making this video never mentioned Seasons or the fact that he began the game with its (Veteran only start) quest-line. Honestly no MMO is perfect and it sucks to say that
Watch his other episodes he already did it
Disagree. The combat is bad unless you're doing PVP.
Yes, the characters can chain together attacks and skills and do amazing movements and combos and pull off some crazy shit like bending the game world to your will or slide around like you're the flash and all that.
BUT
all of that is pointless when all the PVE enemies you get to fight act like they're training dummy.
Used to play BDO with the Batering system was pretty fun though, i would play it but right now lost ark has my priority
