TF2 Classic's Randomizer is Insane

- Randomizer is theoretically pretty simple. You get a random set of weapons at the beginning of each life that function as you'd expect. But TF2 Classic's version is... special. On top of the weapons themselves being randomly picked, the stats they have are also up to chance. Between bullet weapons being able to fire rockets, firing speed having basically no cap, and the fact that you don't know what anything does until you kill with it or die from it, this mode is absolutely bonkers. Also, the Civilian has the objectively funniest A-pose in the game and I refuse to acknowledge anyone who says otherwise.
This is TF2 CLASSIC, a modded version of TF2 that requires a separate installation. If you want to play it yourself, you can download it from their website, which is a Google search away.

I'm not becoming a TF2 Classic channel, I promise. I accidentally recorded for like 3 hours on release night because the game was so fun, so I decided to just split the footage into 2 videos because most of it was on randomizer. This entire gamemode is so chaotic you can have a minigun with 700 ammo that fires rockets that also heal you when you shoot yourself with them.
I once got a RPG with 20 ammo on the clip that healed every kill and not only that had insane firing speed plus crits on kill
(I lost it by a spy backstabbing me with a bat)

Fun fact: if you only have a melee, you are wearing 2 pairs of gunboats (soldier’s and demo’s)

The cool thing about that randomizer is that all classes have proper animations for reloading and shooting

Well, they're the same animation across all characters because of the fact that the hands and guns are separate models
@@Kadeo64 I think they're referring to the extra care taken to make sure that weapons actually use those animations instead of using animations for weapons that already belong to your class, like how the Syringe Gun on Heavy in live Randomizer gets all fucked up because it uses Fist anims.
@@lord_razur it doesn't take that much effort due to the v_models system (the one left 4 dead 2 uses so all survivor arms use the same animations on all the guns) but yeah they did go out of their way to code it to work like that
I'm seeing this get some attention lately so I'm coming back to say, essentially, every class has unique hand models. The bones on the hand models are then contorted to the animation of the weapons. It's how the game's "no hands" setting works, since it just removes the hand models and shows the weapons exclusively
I know right? I love how the pistol and smg actually drop shells from them, and the minigun has a better animation for the spent shell casings falling out of the gun

The best part of randomizer is seeing every class running around rocket launchers and miniguns
No its seeing an a posing civilian carrying a crit minigun trying to find where the cloaked spy is
I had a syringe gun on spy that didn't remove my disguise when I fired it, fooled the entire enemy team because I was fake shooting my own team
In custom weapons servers there is a revolver that doesn't undisguise when fired
TF2 classic randomizer is customizable with config files and console commands, so it's fully up to the server admins about how they set it up.
You can make it pretty tame or you can make it the 9th circle of hell
In TF2 Classic, there are burn death animations for each mercenary. Also, in Randomizer, in addition to the weapons that are officially used in the game from TF2 Classic, there seem to be custom weapons taken from the Workshop.
I managed to get probably the most OP loadout I've ever seen in this randomiser, I was a pyro with a hitscan sticky launcher that did 100 damage per hit, crits on kill and health regen with 400+ health.
I once got an engineer with 900 health, health regen, and an axe that only did crit damage. He also ran at 3 times the normal speed. I managed to get over 25 kills before being flanked and gunned down.
The “dancing scout” was actually the animation of scout dieing to fire

Great Blue sapping a server to death is one OP randomizer weapon.
FYI: The projectile doesn't change the weapon's damage. A minigun still does 3-10 damage per rocket (it's just AOE instead of having to directly hit people). Same with a shotgun that shoots syringes. Each syringe would do about 60 damage.
However, flare projectiles still crit when you’re burning. So if a weapon did 10 damage per shot (like the syringe gun), and they shot you with flares, that’s basically 30 damage per shot.

You should definitely check out one of the servers with custom weapons, with 32 players, 4 teams and 30 new weapons for each class it's chaos but insane fun
2:32 In regular TF2 there are On Fire death animations for all of the classes just like the Backstab and Headshot death animations but the game doesn't use them by default.

Tf classic does what tf2 doesnt. They optimize the gameplay very well. The list of weapons is very short, and they don’t have a lot of stupid cosmetics.

The animations can't be fixed in normal TF2, or they would have done it already. The programmers of these randomizer plugins tried many times, but since the arm and weapon models are rendered clientside there's not too much they can do to change them. TF2C, being a standalone mod that doesn't have to work within the constraints of the normal game, can do whatever it wants.
The thing about tf2c is that it uses an old viewmodel system. Basically, the animations for randomizer aren't actually made manually for each class
One good idea that comes from all this: if you get a really good healer and you don't think you have to protect your healer, you don't get to have a healer.

I played this yesterday on Hoodoo and I ended up with a Minigun that never ran out of ammo and which got crits on kill, plus someone with a Kritz that healed me super quick and also built Kritz really quick. Needless to say, the enemy team couldn't get out of spawn that entire round and I got like 60 points out of spawncamping alone.

Funny thing about that scatter rocket gun is that I seen something just like it in the Uber Upgrades server in TF2 where some maps have the enemy scout robots (Sadly not the player's SG as it has no sidegrade for rockets) use a scatter gun that shoots out rockets as well.

the scout that was burning and somewhat danced was doing a old burning animation that didnt get in the game after all, i guess its on tf2c now

note: you can only build with the pda, which is not randomized and 100% granted to be there, if you get the wrench as any class you can use it to repair and upgrade friendly buildings since an engi usually can't
