really love how the reds and greens came together in Ariel's piece!
Alysha's painting of Luffy was a bit too bright/ clear for what I feel most classical paintings are like, but it obviously fits Luffy. Ariel's painting of Zoro was really good, and great work capturing a character she doesn't actually know!
I think Ariel did an amazing job capturing Zoro it felt like he was posing for a portrait

I think both are well done. Especially, the Zorro and you don't even not know the character lol but personally I feel like they would not have been able to get Zorro to smile for the painting lol. He's smiles most when he's fighting someone strong or drinking booze 😅.

I can highly recommend "one pace" it's a project where they have cut out fillers and repeating segments from the anime and focuses on the story.. 10/10 recommend!
Zoro was actually the first crewmate, Nami was actually the 4th crewmate to join Luffy, and Nami did show up in storyline second but didn't join the crew until after Ussop and Sanji had join

I think a face cam overlay during the painting sections would add a little bit of interest, like a twitch stream or something. Even if it's just on face cam of the voice over during the timelapsed segments.
I never watched One piece, but I absolutely loved Ariel’s take on Zoro, it felt very renaissance. Also I would like to add, It would be awesome to see different mediums and maybe like recreate disenchantment/adventure time character (for example) with real oil painting (or even acrylic). Or do some modelling with clay? That would be awesome. I know you might not have the budget but I’m sure you could go to a Harry’s or King Kong’s and buy some cheap art stuff and maybe try it out in a video as well. I absolutely love digital art, don’t get me wrong, I just love seeing more traditional art as well, kinda like Jazza’s videos.
Here's the trick Ariel: Watch the Netflix show and you'll want to spend those thousand hours watching the anime. Worked for me, I finally stopped saying "someday I'll watch One Piece to see what the fuss is about" and actually started watching and greatly enjoying it.
Love the video keep it up!! Suggestion: would love to see you take the "faces" from the back ends of cars and create cool creatures based off what you see!! Like a 2015 Veloster back end just looks like a happy lil bug!

I've just finished and this might be a weird thing to notice but...I really appreciated Ariel's background. Nailed that. I loved the character design but there was something really appealing about that backdrop just as a piece of abstract art

There's an old anime called Slayers. It's a crazy swords and socery story. One of the first anime I ever watched (even before DBZ).
The result was really good, tbh. Still there's something about anime features that don't fit classical in my opinion.
Also, I said this in the poll last week, but having you work with things you don't know puts me a bit off. I'd really like to see what you can accomplish when you're truly passionate about the object of your work.

Whilst I really love & enjoy both of your art work, I tend to lean more toward Alisha’s style. That being said, Ariel nailed it perfectly for me with this challenge. Amazing work both of you and yes, Ariel ya really need to become a Strawhat and enjoy the genius that is One Piece in its many forms.

There's something about the Zoro piece that it doesn't look like the sword is actually IN his mouth. It looks like he's smiling and the sword is in front of his face. maybe there's an alignment problem between the angle of his mouth and the angle of the sword handle, or the handle doesn't look like it's far enough INTO his face to be believable that he is clenching it in his teeth
Ariel should at minimum watch the live action One Piece. It was really good.

if you think about it nami is one of the members on the crew that CANT be replaced, if you take away the bonds they have and go purely for skill luffy wont find someone with the navigational talent that nami has

I think Luffy looks a little bit too old in comparison to the original.Even in live action he looks younger then Alysha's version.

I love the concept for this channel, but it's becoming kind of one note. Your title says classic painting but you're doing digital art again. Please consider using actual art supplies in your art videos.
Imwas hoping you would actually paint them. This is digital and not the same thing. Not saying they aren't good, because they are, but it's computer generated and not the same. Not that you all respond to commemts so this is just going nowhere..
