Real students who are actually on spring break will watch this year. If this is successful, they’ll come back next year. No one wants to be in a place where people bring guns when they party. Those people can stay where they live and keep their guns and behavior at home.

I don't agree. This is overkill and the media blows everything out of proportion. There are more shootings all over Florida than in Miami spring break every other weekend.
And some of the chaos has nothing to do with spring break.
It's good to know Cops can ruin the beach but can't save 14 year olds from active shooters.

You literally tell people to stay home, go somewhere else, not come to you, and when they listen to you and no one wants to be around Florida State Troopers, The National Guard and Miami Police, and their money goes with them, you’re surprised? I, for one, will be very interested to see how this one plays out. Miami Beach WAS out of control. No doubt about that. I’m interested to see what they do to come back from this and to find the balance.

At the end of the day, with spring break or not, There is a loss, business get broken into, crowds disperse, people don't pay for their meal in fear of their safety. What the city is doing is creating a balance and I think its a good step. There are far many more things Miami is known for other than ocean drive. There are also many other beaches in florida other than Miami. If spring break is to create a break, why would I want to break at a place where there are going to be thousands of people disturbing my peace?

I remember in the 80's Fort Lauderdale was insane until the locals had enough and had them kicked out. You can still go to Fort Lauderdale but it's nothing like it used to be. If you don't have law and order though these kids would go crazy. I've seen fights in bars, in the streets, shootings, stabbings, kids tearing up hotel rooms, diving off the fifth floor into the hotel pool, wild out of control pool parties, people throwing up in the middle of the streets, pooping in the streets etc...

I'll be visiting Miami & Miami Beach in about 6 weeks for a week vacation. This will be April 21st thru April 27th. I hope to have plenty of fun in the sand, explore the city, & try different bars & restaurants during my 6 night vacation there. Keep it sunny and warm for me please.
