As a native, please remember that South Florida is extremely fun but to treat it with respect. There are ALWAYS trash cans and recycle bins near you, it’s not hard to walk 5 ft to throw out your trash. People still live here & call this place home & respect our oceans & streets(communities).
Yes! Please! If you want to trash some place, trash your own home, not ours! We're getting pretty sick of that conduct. If that's the type of person you are, YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE!
Miami local here; do NOT play around with parking in south beach. If you are even ONE minute late after your parking expires, it will get towed by Tremont towing and they are an absolute nightmare to deal with.
Great tips! I'm a South Beach native, and totally agree with especially the no driving. Tons of tourists get their cars towed and have to deal with that huge headache ruining their trips. If I could also add something I always tell friends and family who visit: Plan your day around the sun and the heat peak hours. Most people wake up, hang around a while, and then go out at the hottest time of the day, get sunburnt, feel exhausted, etc.. But it's best to wake up, go out and about in the morning to the beach or pool, sightseeing, etc.. then go back to hotel/airbnb in the middle of the day to check emails, nap,etc... and go out again in the evening when it's cooled off. : )
Yikes I want to drive down from Tampa tomorrow for 3 days visiting. Already feel worried about parking issue and hotel. Don’t know where stay best. Love the idea to explore Little Havana and authentic Cuban foods though.
But as a New Englander who loves the sun & summer, it's tough to beat a New England summer. Granted, the trade-off is the New England winters, but that's why so many "snow birds" go to Florida/Miami in the winter, when it's not brutally hot/humid as it is during the summer. But Miami in the summer? No thanks.
@@feiwong70 I get a rental car whenever I visit Miami. The parking is a bit of a pain and can get expensive with street parking and overnight parking if your hotel doesn't have free parking. But to me it's still worth it because I like to move around on my own accord. If I'm in south beach it's nothing to hop in the car and drive to Brickell or wynwood. If it's 3am and I want to run to the store or McDonald's I can do so with a car. Ultimately it's up to you and your budget. Street parking is like $8/hr from what I remember. Hotel valet can vary depending on where you're staying. So just decide if you want to spend the bread on parking or ubers/doordash. Hope this helps
Thank you for mentioning that Miami is a real place, with real homes and real things here. Sometimes people come to our town and destroy it because they have a mentality that Miami doesn't exist outside of their vacation. But we call it home! :)
Does it ever bother you that it's always hot and humid, like all day every day? Lol 🥵 Also, in the autumn months, do you guys ever get that crisp and brown color foliage, or is it green all year long? I'm so curious to know!
Wish tourist from out the country would respect our towns. I live in NY city and work with tourist and I see with my own eyes what a mess and I mean mess they leave ESPECIALLY in the bathroom and where we are there is literally a garbage can in every block but no they love to literally. To the people that live in Miami thank u for having such a beautiful city and yes on my part I def will cherish it , love it and respect it and help keep it clean. Thank u
Rule #1 - If you're on a budget, leave South Beach to eat and party. Locals don't go to south beach because it is a tourist trap with crazy prices and out of towners that lack culture and the the ability to behave in public. Visit Downtown Miami, Brickell Wynwood, Little Havana, Coconut Grove for a more authentic Miami experience. Rule #2 - Pre-game! Drinks in Miami are $15+ for cocktails. You might find them cheaper at some places (not on the beach) but those places aren't a real reflection of miamis bubbling nightlife. Also, DON'T DO BOTTLE SERVICE. You will pay a 400-500% markup on a bottle that will cost you $30 in a liquor store. Rule #3 - Peak nightlife doesnt begin until 12:00 and most venues don't close until 3-4AM. Even after that, we have after hours which begins from 9AM on. If you arrive at the time listed on the flyer out of fear you'll miss the headliner, you are three hours too early. Rule #4 - If you are attempting to party in South Beach, you may very well get denied entry for not being with enough women (if you're a male) or for not being pretty enough. Don't get mad at me for saying this, I did not make these rules... im just the messenger. This is yet another reason not to party at South Beach. Showing up with an abundance of women and few men is always an easy way to ensure entry. You can literally ask ppl off the street. As a male, the more women you come in with, the more chances you have of coming in without being charged a cover. Rule #5 - Big night clubs like Eleven, Space, Liv, etc... all have dress codes. No shorts or tank tops, no sandals. To guarantee they dont give you a hard time, wear a button down and jeans to be safe. Rule #6 - The weed trucks that drive around don't sell weed that will get you high. They will outright lie to you and tell you that they do but its not true. Bouncers at venues are almost always your best bet for finding weed. Rule #7 - Weed is generally accepted throughout Miami. You can smoke anywhere on the streets and even in almost all venues (some even inside) except the fancier ones. If a venue that isnt a major club doesnt let you smoke weed or has a dress code, it's likely a racist / classist thing and I would generally suggest avoiding it. (venues like Dirty Rabbit and most other latin ones for example.) Rule #8 - Don't use your turn signals to switch lanes. Many will complain about this but I'll share a little secret about Miami... people drive like assholes here. Unfortunately, putting your turn signal to switch lanes will only make the person in that lane speed up so you can't get in. You WILL NOT get a ticket for not using your turn signal. Driving doesn't suck in Miami, especially compared to places like New York & California. They always tell you to drive defensively, Id say you have to do a bit of both here. Rule #9 - Try to avoid traveling from 7:30 - 9AM and 4 - 6:45PM as those are our traffic times. Rule #10 - You can turn right on red lights Rule #11 - No one will ever ticket you for jaywalking Rule #12 - Buses rarely run on time. Metro rail is a little better but I still recommend getting there at least 15 minutes earlier than the arrival time. Also, the Metro Mover connects downtown and brickell and you can ride it for free. Because of this, homeless use it often. They are generally harmless but there have been violent incidents in the past. Rule #13 - The left lane is for passing, not driving the speed limit. Rule #14 - English is the first language here and almost everyone speaks it but knowing spanish will be a huge help. Rule #15 - The bums that guide you into street parking are just that... bums. They will try to lie to you about the price to park at a spot. You can either ignore them or give them a few bucks but there is no obligation. [This is only for street parking and not parking lots.]
@@tommiejackson-smith7304 club tipico dominicano or anything that isnt in miami beach (maybe an exception is mango's tropical club) if you want more R&B go to opa-locka with caution
You will get ticketed for not using your turn signal, at the very least when travelling along quieter streets, such as residential areas and school zones, or anywhere that a cop can easily single you out and pull you over. Speeding is generally the norm and you will get people tailgating you even if you're going 50 in a 35.
Had a blast in Miami a few months ago as a first time visiter. Split my days up into different neighborhoods, Brickell, Wynwood, Little Havana, South Beach which are all worth a day or so each.
Go to Coral 🪸 Gables next time. Stay at the beautiful Biltmore. It’s a historic hotel 🏨 and it’s got haunted rooms; you can request a room that isn’t haunted
Miami native here, thank you for this, your do’s and don’t’ are spot on and I appreciate you for mentioning the diversity aspect of Miami, that gets lost too often when people talk about the city.
GREAT VIDEO. One additional tip: Never visit on a Holiday weekend. EVERYTHING is overpriced and the city is overrun with tourists. It is better when it is an off week or a regular weekend when you can mingle with the locals and enjoy an authentic outing. 😉
agreed with everything as a local other than the car rental. If you really want to see the real Miami and do as much as possible a car is basically essential. Similar to LA.
@@crBudgetWatches not necessarily. With Uber to and from the airport to local car rental place pretty much going to end up costing about the same. Plus a lot of wasted time. When you go on vacation you want convenience. Pay a tad bit more, save time, and enjoy your vacation.
@@relatemusic2552 I was talking about comparing because in recent months it has been impossible to get a good deal at FLL or MIA. I went twice in recent months and saved a bunch renting in Sunrise and Collins, uber included.
No not true. You major cities ok I agree. I drove between New Smyrna Beach, Orlando, and Key Largo for work. Traffic was wonderful in New Smyrna Beach down to Boca Raton. Once you got to Boca Raton that's when traffic was horrible. Orlando traffic got horrible about 30 miles outside of Orlando. I also went to school on the West Coast of Florida (Ft. Myers). Traffic was never like Broward, Dade County, and Monroe County.
For anyone visiting only South beach, Brickell, Wynwood, or Downtown Miami, you will be just fine with taking Lyft or Uber! Might even be cheaper then renting a car (in my experience). Just wanted to share cause I knew this was a concern I had before going!
Was walking around Brickell / downtown Miami today. I recommend you have your phone fully charged with the map on. I didnt and was probably lost a good half hour.

Miami had many line of free shuttles, 2019,oct.I had a good time in Miami from the cruise end, at the 36 st.hostel 3 night, free trip around the city, that was the big travel before the covis 19,and bus transit to FLL for cheap flight lax.
Been to so many places around Miami and its such a great city with so much to learn, do and see. Some areas that I found worth the visit if you come for a short trip are: - Wynwood Art District - Lincoln Road - South Beach and Ocean Drive - Coral Gables, the Venetian Pool and the Biltmore Hotel - Little Havana (Calle Ocho) - Coconut Grove (Main street area and CocoWalk) - Bayfront Marketplace and Bayfront Park - Brickell City Centre and Area - Vizcaya Museum - Maurice A Ferre Park - so cool to watch the cruise ships come in from here as well! Also I was surpised how easy it was get around to alot of downtown places without a car using the free trolly buses and the free Metromover (I think locals take advantage of how cool this is... nothing like this would ever be free where I'm from haha).
I agree w the list. I would argue over 90% of locals do not regularly use public transportation here because it isn't really reliable and connecting from different neighborhoods could take hours.
Thanks for this video, I am a Miami local and actually live in Coral Gables. Spot on everything is correct here. I actually do my best to avoid downtown or Miami beach area altogether as a local since traffic is awful and the hassle of parking. Also, Wynwood is another great place to explore if anyone is thinking of visitng
A lot of people don't know about the Rickenbacker Causeway. Park there, walk downtown and use the Metromover. Key Biscayne is also an off-tourist haven of sights and charm.
I just spent a week there, it was great. I was out early morning and late at night, walked all over the place and never felt unsafe. Good food, and had good service. I love all the diversity , people from all over the world enjoying themselves. Good times.
Just got back from a trip to Miami Beach… So glad for tip #1! I never would have thought to double check the check for this and it ended up saving me a decent bit of money. I also began ordering two drinks at a time since I knew the service wouldn’t be as prompt as I’m typically used to. Great information, thanks for making the video!
I actually stumbled across this channel whilst watching another video and I've been hooked ever since! Me and my other half absolutely love roadtripping across this beautiful country and we've been to some pretty cool places but I wish I had come across this channel earlier! Its invaluable information for a roadtripping loving Brit like myself and I'm going to recommending this channel to my friends who are planning a holiday to America to check these videos out so please keep them coming!
I am from Miami and these are pretty great tips. Locals do not eat at South beach, it's extremely overpriced and horrible service. South Beach is notorious for towing cars and charging you $500 to get it out. South Beach is literally for tourists. it's not MIAMI. and yes you're right about July and August it rains every day, with 100% humidity, and 95 degrees every day. It's brutal.
I’d recommend staying in north beach for cheaper hotels then use the actual public transport early morning which is fantastic for free and take you down to south beach
@@dylandoge1627 my hotel which I can’t think of the name but was the building that was in the new bad boys movie where the rat was thrown out the window had a beach right in front of it. We got top floor with partial ocean view which was one of their best views. We were really happy with our stay. We had no idea we booked for north and that south was the place to be but I can literally direct myself around all Miami Beach now from walking and exploring it all. I’m from Richmond Virginia and our public transport sucks ass so my tip is to look into where your staying a local transport Bc you never know. It might just be awesome like Miami’s is. Don’t uber!
The service charge was added on because foreigners didnt tip at all. I remember when there was no service charge. This was back when Miami wasnt the popular place to be. It was when only locals went to Miami. When tip is added into the price of food and drinks slow service is what you get usually.
@@RyogaEchizen this idiotic thinking is why companies are doing 20% charge. A penny means more for bad service than nothing. A lot of foreigners (not all) are always complaining about all the pennies they get. This is a perfect way to spend it. I worked as a waitress and a penny meant far far far far more than nothing. A penny meant you did a shitty job. Nothing meant I'm a foreigner or I'm an idiot and I dont understand tipping culture.
@@mikezmac Part of travel is learning and following the local customs. If you go to a place and refuse to tip because there is no tipping back home, then you’re basically being a real jerk to the local server who did nothing to deserve it. Enough people act like that and the restaurants change policies and guess what? You get high prices and bad service in tourist areas with the compulsory service charge. Nice going. If you followed the custom in the first place, you’d see excellent service and would voluntarily pay the 20% tip because you were so happy with the experience. In the US being a server involves working for tips, so you get people who are trying very hard to earn that tip. You may say this is a terrible system but this is the system. I personally like it because it results in good service and I think it feels good to honor someone’s work with a tip.
Take it from a local, don't come from mid-August thru mid-October, but if you do, don't miss the Miami Spice price fixe menus at some of the best restaurants in the city. Don't bring a car to South Beach. Do everything that you can to NOT bring your car. Parking it will cost you a fortune. Don't eat on Ocean Drive. Most of the restaurants are rip-offs (except for breakfast).
@@deebee4575 I love where I live in Miami Beach, but it's only because I don't live on the touristy east side if South Beach by the ocean. If you want the benefits of living in a tropical weather, walkable community, and you don't want the hassle that big impactful events/weeks/weekends bring, look on the west side of South Beach from 5th St. up to Sunset Harbor. You'll be in a very walkable and convenient area, while affording everything that the beach has to offer by foot, bike share, or free trolly ride.
South beach is a freaking nightmare! I moved out of that place 10 years ago... now I’m 5 minutes away from coral gables.. chill.. relax.. cleaner ... safer 👍🏻🎉
Some good points there. I live in Florida and started business in Miami 20 years ago. It still has a special vibe and energy that the rest of Florida can't match. You should have mentioned the tv series Miami Vice. It put Miami on the map and changed South Beach from a sleepy low rent retirement community to what it is today. There are Miami Vice tours and show all the places in from the show.
Took our honeymoon in Florida, starting in Miami and heading to key west. Loved staying in the old hotel on ocean drive. Service was awful, they rushed us at every opportunity. The honeymoon destination was a toss up between Thailand and Florida. I really fancied the SCUBA dive sites of Thailand but also wanted to do a drive to Key West. The first morning in our hotel, we woke to the news of the tsunami that devastated Thailand beaches and many places around the Indian Ocean.
Next time you're down here, plan a picnic at the Deering Estate. It's beautiful, historic, and right on the Bay, with beautiful wide open spaces to relax

This was a good overview for a tourist! I lived (past tense) in Miami for 45 years. I moved to somewhere else to get a better quality of life. Don't get me wrong - the sites and sounds of Miami-Dade are beautiful and exciting. It is an international place. Unique - no other place in the world like it. If you have never visited - please try it out. South Beach is a tourist trap - the really beautiful Miami is over the causeway.

Warning: if you went to South Beach 15 or 20 years ago, don’t think it is the same cool, fun place. It is dangerous at night now. Lots of violence, lots of drugs. Be careful.
Dont' overstate the case. It's always wise to be cautious when out on South Beach past 11pm. But it's not Afghanistan. Also, a great deal of the issues with crime are generated by tourists themselves, particularly on the major holiday weekends.
As a native Miamian, it is really sad that we are known for bad customer service, and yes Miami Beach is its own city with a city hall and their own police department and Miami is a separate city. There is a lot to see in Miami, don't go see the Miami Seaquarium it is a dump. When I was little it was already looking run down (25 years ago) and it hasn't been renovated ever.

As someone from Miami, I think you did a great job on this video! Yes, Miami is more than South Beach... its better to eat and drink off the strip the restaurants and bars through out the city especially downtown are amazing!
Local here: day trips are definitely possible in Miami too! Fort Lauderdale is 45 min north (with traffic) and you can take the Tri-Rail or Brightline (when it starts running again in Fall ‘21), and it has a cool young feel different from Miami. The keys are 1-3 hours south depending on which you go to. South beach is also only a part of Miami Beach, like he said. North Beach, Lincoln Road and South of 5th are cool places if you want to avoid getting ripped off. Honorable mention: Wynwood! One of the most important and influential cultural areas of the city.
Miami is my husband's favourite place in the world and we have been to many places! We've NEVER looked at a restaurant bill to see if tips were already included! Thanks so much for the tip!
Quite comprehensive! I'm impressed. I'm glad you mentioned the public transit system. Metromover takes you all over Downtown ans Brickell for free. The Metrorail Orange line takes you to the airport and the trolleys are everywhere. Express buses are efficient. Your bike can go with you on most buses and trains so you can ride down the city bike trails. I don't think we have that many Puerto Ricans here as you mentioned but there is a Dominican neighborhood in Allapattah.

Good tips, I would add that the worst months to come are actually August and September. In July you can still get some nice beach days. Most hurricanes we have had in the past have come during these two months, as it is peak hurricane season and it rains the most. Also, definitely have a "cafecito", otherwise known as "Cuban crack" because it's addictive lol...and I wouldn't rent a car unless you're driving out of the city, otherwise take Uber or Lyft. Parking can be a headache, and you will get towed if you're not careful about where you're parking, especially in South Beach.
Dude as a person that leaves in Miami and its Cuban you nailed it. You are definitely right Miami is not just Cubans there is a lot of diversity here and everyone is welcomed. Also, Miami is so much more than just a beach. There is a ton to do and visit. I am sorry for the service!
Cuban culture is not the only culture in Miami to experience. (So glad you mentioned this) Try going to Red Rooster. Great upscale black owned establishment. Reservation suggested. Also Jackson Soul Food.
Great tips spot on!!! I love to go just to chill out and sit by pool or beach. Something for everyone and all ages for sure!!! My fav spot for relaxing. Great video!!!
I’m from Miami, closer to Homestead actually, for people that don’t know what that is, it’s one of the last cities before the Florida Keys. And I think Miami has got every single type of person, from every culture, nationality, race. Miami is a jumble of people, I’m German-American because of my ancestors, but I have Haitian and Bahamian Cousins. My girlfriend is also Cuban-German-American, and my bestfriends Mexican and Nicaraguan. In Miami you’ll meet people from all over to form one big community, it’s quite impressive actually. I hope everyone enjoys their time here in Miami, and something that isn’t mentioned to do in Miami is head to the Redlands area which is Miami’s agricultural area and go try so wild fruits, see some crazy animals, and see some beautiful farms.

I am really surprised (in a good way) at the excellent quality of this advice :). Here's my 15 cents (5 per a point): (1) if you do come in the summer, hit the ocean around 5 pm or even 6 pm, just check the beach you aim for is open at this time. The water will be hotter, than the air, while the score of the tropical sun will be gone. If you go earlier, rent a water bike or jet ski , go in the open ocean fast for a breeze (2) Check Fairchild for early mornings and night event when it is open outside of normal hours. (3) A great advice about Cuban food on the video, just remember, Cuban food is generally not spicy ( Cuban dancing is :)), it is more of a high quality home cooked meal taste. This fact often surprises people.
Love the video..The only thing I would disagree with and it's ultimately a personal decision is the time of year. I have been to Miami multiple times over and throughout the years. Yes the summers are smoking hot but the prices of hotels drop drastically. I'm from NJ and our summers oddly are just as hot as Miami it just doesent last as long. So you have to way what's more important to you personally.
My tip as someone who has been to Miami several times, either check if the hotel has a resort fee and if yes, check for the ones who don't it or book a stay at an Airbnb - this is what I have done in recent years.
I'm from Brazil and I dream to come to Miami! Such a beautiful beaches and the town, just so curious to know it! And the south americans, thats a plus!
FYI, hurricane season technically starts in June. Unlikely to affect FL that early, but the possibility is there. It ends at the end of November. The storms typically hit us in south Florida later in the season. If you're planning a trip, definitely aim for December-May.
We just came back from Miami (spent 4 days there) and had a great time despite the heat. We made a Top 10 video also to help people who have never been there before. We did so much homework before going there because we didn't want to waste any time missing out on anything.
This video is great! There is one thing I always tell people that want to vacation in Miami, DON'T GO TO SOUTH BEACH. Go every where else but not south beach (WAY TOO overpriced). Go to Wynwood at night for the clubs, go to the most underated tavern/ bar in Miami, Bougainvillea (AKA Boogies). Experience club eleven and club space. PLAN FOR TRAFFIC EVERYWHERE (add 25 to 35 minutes to anywhere you go).

by a waterproof case protector from Amazon or Walmart etc. They are usually big enough to fit phone, cash and cards. It comes with a lanyard to hang around your neck.
I love Miami, but south beach to me is the type of place you need to visit once just for the experience. In my travels to the metro area I think the service thing is mostly south beach. They don’t even bother because there’s always new people coming to visit. I’ve had tons of good experiences with good customer service everywhere from homestead in the south to Fort Lauderdale/Coral springs in the north. Not just hating on Miami Beach though I used to really like Oggi in the north bay village, but I think they closed down due to the pandemic.
I will never understand why someone would visit Florida in June, July or August because the heat is through the roof. I moved to Florida two years ago, and I still cannot take the heat. I once stopped in a deli for two minutes and my inside car temperature was over 150 F degrees.
@@woltersworld Yes, it has been real hot this year. I'm dreading the temperatures this Summer. Some family members are coming down in July, and I really do not understand why. Miami native here - great video, Mark. Disappointed I didn't spot you filming around Miracle Mile.

To the people that live in Miami thank u for having such a beautiful city and yes on my part I def will cherish it , love it and respect it and help keep it clean. Thank u
@@Marsha_Ann YOu come through as a miserable person
(venues like Dirty Rabbit and most other latin ones for example.)
Rule #8 - Don't use your turn signals to switch lanes.
Rule #10 - You can turn right on red lights
Rule #11 - No one will ever ticket you for jaywalking
Rule #12 - Buses rarely run on time.
This is great! Can you name some of your fav clubs and after hours spots that have more local vibes?
So is Miami beach any better than South beach?
@@djay2099 Same thing, but south Beach is more touristy
@@tommiejackson-smith7304 club tipico dominicano or anything that isnt in miami beach (maybe an exception is mango's tropical club) if you want more R&B go to opa-locka with caution
You will get ticketed for not using your turn signal, at the very least when travelling along quieter streets, such as residential areas and school zones, or anywhere that a cop can easily single you out and pull you over. Speeding is generally the norm and you will get people tailgating you even if you're going 50 in a 35.

agreed with everything as a local other than the car rental. If you really want to see the real Miami and do as much as possible a car is basically essential. Similar to LA.
I would suggest renting in neighborhood car rentals for best rates, not at the airport.

The service charge was added on because foreigners didnt tip at all. I remember when there was no service charge. This was back when Miami wasnt the popular place to be. It was when only locals went to Miami. When tip is added into the price of food and drinks slow service is what you get usually.
Same is true in NYC touristy areas like Little Italy where the tip is automatically added.
tipping should be optional not forced...
And a lot of countries around the world there is no tipping. Or it’s 5 to 10%. Wait staff are paid good wages everywhere else.

And Carribean culture.
I live in Miami. Wow. This is flawless advice. Bravo! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Appreciate the upload. My girlfriend and I are currently here and this gave us some great tips to look out for. Appreciate it!
I've seen many of your videos. I've wondered how accurate you are but after seeing your Miami Beach video I have to say you are on point.
OMG!!! THANKU 4 ACKNOWLEDGING THE HAITIAN CULTURE WOLTER!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🥳🥳🥳👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤👍🏽🙏🏽🇭🇹 ITS AN AMAZING CULTURE & THE FOOD IS HEAVENLY!!! NOT 100% CERTAIN IF THE TAP TAP RESTAURANT IS STILL RUNNING BUT THEIR FOOD WAS AWESOME!!! PROUD HAITIAN HERE!!!🇭🇹🎉🎉🎉🥳❤
As someone who was born and raised in Miami, thank you for telling it like it is. I hate driving anywhere south of the Broward county line, it's just a hot mess of traffic, attitude and all the " me first" people. South Beach is a no go for me...I might indulge a friend that is visiting but ugh such a headache to go there and the food is overpriced and service underwhelming. If you do come, I recommend Jan- March, avoid this place like the plague otherwise. Funny you should say that, someone once said the exact same thing. They honestly thought all of Miami was South Beach. Hmm, now I understand why people were so impressed when I said I was from Miami 🤣🤣
It took me 47 years to find a name for the Me First People
I had to stay a bit in Miami. The driving in Miami Dade is horrible. The parking in south beach is crazy. I stopped going to south beach because it was starting to become a nightmare. Now from what has been happening there it is officially a daily horror Flick.
Just went to Miami for my 24th brithday. My new favorite city in the USA, possibly in the world! So much to do, amazing weather, beautiful people, south beach is world class. 10/10 recommend
You say that because you don't live here your not a native.
I was born and raised here in Miami Beach and can honestly say it's not what it used to be.
I'm embarrassed to say Miami is a third world over priced slum!
Aww happy you had a great time here!
Travel more
@@bballah9969 Agreed. Everyone over here in Hollywood cringes when someone else mentions visiting Miami.

Very true😂
Love Miami beautiful city I been 3 times enjoyed each trip September 2019 November 2021 and May 2022
wow yey just found this video. Thank you really for this realistic video!! all points totally agreed!! gracias! happy to call Miami my second home!
I lived here 15 years. He's on point for sure.
Great video as always Mark! Especially that first tip on service charges - they’ve gotten me before!
Thanks D!
Thank you Anna! Great helpful tips. Thank you!
Is the water cold in March
I live in Miami and I'm impressed with the accuracy of your impression of this great city.
Everyone traveling to Miami during Spring Break time of year, be aware of that too. It's crazy in March.
Yes! Full Bloom Vegan Restaurant!
So you have to way what's more important to you personally.
i’ve lived in soflo my whole life…and i just watched this entire video
Thanks man I followed your advice for Rome it was great. Now I’m going to Miami going to follow your suggestions
Thank you Mr. Wolter for your great video and greetings from Finland🙂🇫🇮
As someone who lives near Miami, this was super accurate
My tip as someone who has been to Miami several times, either check if the hotel has a resort fee and if yes, check for the ones who don't it or book a stay at an Airbnb - this is what I have done in recent years.
I'm from Brazil and I dream to come to Miami! Such a beautiful beaches and the town, just so curious to know it! And the south americans, thats a plus!
Miami does have a large Brazilian population.
Great video! Straight to the point with important information. I'm going to check out more videos from this guy
FYI, hurricane season technically starts in June. Unlikely to affect FL that early, but the possibility is there. It ends at the end of November. The storms typically hit us in south Florida later in the season. If you're planning a trip, definitely aim for December-May.
Woah...I'm going there next week. Good stuff to keep in mind.
have a fun trip!
Please don’t feed the seagulls.
For all the early birds, don't forget to go to the White Haven for breakfast. They open at 7:30am while the rest on Ocean Drive open at 9:00am.
Jimmy's is my place cheap and great food
I’m going the end of July. It’s gonna be humid 😩 but I’m so excited! Thanks for the tips, really helpful and the food looks 🔥
Speachless. Thanks for giving us this tour.
Surprised he didn’t mention the Design District or Wynwood, very different distinct areas of Miami. Not on the beaches but worth the trip. Great art, especially the graffiti murals. Good restaurants. Even downtown is going through a Renaissance
Yes the WynWood neighborhood was a glaring omission.
I grew up in Miami and drove there for decades!!! Now everywhere else I go is a piece of cake, NY, ATL, Houston, San Francisco, LA….
Coming first time to miami! And in july! Lol. But how can I safely leave y cellphone and debit card on the beach while I take a swim?? I'm going on my own🤔
by a waterproof case protector from Amazon or Walmart etc. They are usually big enough to fit phone, cash and cards. It comes with a lanyard to hang around your neck.
@@ayeyou5651 I heard about those. Are they 100% safe as in water definitely wont get in??
This was such a help full video!! Thank you!! You answered A lot of questions I had!!
Your video is very informative. Thank you! I'll head over to Miami next week. Super excited!
"Miami is for everyone", truer words were never spoken. That's why Miami is my favorite city. I've never felt nearly so comfortable anywhere else.
Try Amsterdam
@@davidvilchez2209 That country is very high on my bucket list, that and of course the amazing country of Japan.
Miami is overrated. Europe is so much better
@@davidvilchez2209Europe is so much better than trashy Miami.
Yeah. The overall experience in the city vs South beach did seem night and day
I will never understand why someone would visit Florida in June, July or August because the heat is through the roof. I moved to Florida two years ago, and I still cannot take the heat. I once stopped in a deli for two minutes and my inside car temperature was over 150 F degrees.
I was in Key West in Early May and Miami at the end of May... by end of may i was not comfortable :) hot hot hot
@@woltersworld Yes, it has been real hot this year. I'm dreading the temperatures this Summer. Some family members are coming down in July, and I really do not understand why. The best time to be in Florida is October to March. After that, it gets hotter by the day. Great video as always! Safe travels to all, Mark.
Where are you from? Im from Michigan but I have gotten used to the heat
@@ebarteldes I'm from NY. I will never really get used to the heat because I have always loved the cold.
@@ESUSAMEX I live here too. Staten Island. But I did live in Brazil for a long spell, so I got used to the heat
Great review as usual. We are headed to Miami before a cruise. Great tips!
miami is in my bucket list simply to watch the Heat, is a motel 6 good to stay at and just uber to the arena?
Big mistake unless you like sleeping with cockroaches
Thanks for reminding me why Miami remains on my list of places to avoid.
Don't. I avoided for years, went this year because we cannot travel internationally yet. Loved it.
Miami native here - great video, Mark. Disappointed I didn't spot you filming around Miracle Mile.
Miami isn't for everyone, but it definitely has something for everyone, so long as you're willing to explore beyond South Beach and possibly practice a little Spanish (I know that alone might put off some would-be visitors, which is great). I've always enjoyed your videos, please keep it up!
I shouldn't have to learn how to speak Spanish in a majority English speaking country and I'm P.R
You don't have to do anything. One could try to learn and speak a few words of Spanish to improve their visit, or one could take your attitude and maybe still enjoy themselves, though probably not as much.
How is it being an actual resident in Miami Beach? Thinking about moving there. Thanks.
@@Unique2U05 Then stay home.😂😂😂
I love it how all the UA-cam travel bloggers are all in Florida all of a sudden ! 😂👌
That's because Hollyweird still has strict covid rules in place.Once those are lifted, they'll go back like the locus they are.
