"isn't it too burnt to eat" when I roast marshmallows I let the outside get burnt and crunchy. Then you can pull just the burnt outsides off and they keep their shape and the inside stays on the stick and is all gooey. Then you either make a smore with the insides or eat the burnt part and stick the gooey insides back in the fire and do it again.
A gas stove burner set to about 1/2" flame is capable of toasting the marshmallow to an utterly delicious golden brown. Microwave is so easy, especially if you push chocolate drops into the middle of the marshmallow. Both are great, with or without the graham cracker. But a campfire, with friends, is most satisfying. It's so nice to see Grandma OK looking so well. She's such a beautiful and gracious lady. Some of us are savages who intentionally burn our marshmallows.
My family made regular s'mores, but our favorite alternate way was to stuff a sugar cone with chocolate, set in in a hole on a square grate, and then put toasted marshmallows in them. The chocolate coats the inside of the cone when you shove the marshmallows in, and it's fantastic. Banana Boats are also really good, you cut open a banana down the middle still in the peel,, stuff with mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, Peanut Butter, etc., and then you just wrap it in tinfoil and toss it on the coals. The peel acts almost like a bowl when you pry it open to eat it!
That's a good idea! It's also appropriate because the Girl Scouts literally invented s'mores. The Girl Scouts of America were founded just before WW1, and took off in popularity after that. When the war ended, there were a lot of army surplus supplies, including Hershey bars, which were included in the soldiers' food rations. The soldiers came back with a taste for Hershey bars and introduced them to their families; there was a surplus of Hershey bars, plus they were affordable, so the Girl Scout troops bought them as part of their food supply for campouts. That's why the classic Girl Scout style s'more is made with chocolate from the regular Hershey bar, although more modern recipes suggest using Reese's peanut butter cups, Nutella, or other kinds of chocolate.
This gave me flashbacks to more than 20 years back, when me and my best friend - still teenagers living in a German city - wanted to try this at home. we had never even gone camping before and we just used a candle. suddenly my friend's marshmallow sported an 8 inch flame. that in my mom's tiny urban apartment too. she stared at it wide eyed and yelled 'It's burning! I just buried my grandpa today so it really makes me happy to see grandma ok so happy and healthy. This moments are so precious and you're so lucky to be recording these moments to have forever
The best way to make it if you’re roasting the marshmallows over the fire is to slide the chocolate into the centre of the marshmallow after you pull it off the stick. That way the hot marshmallow insides melt the chocolate 😋 You can also make them easily at home by using the oven. Lay down two graham crackers on a baking sheet, place chocolate on one and marshmallow on the other. Put it in the oven using a medium or low broil. Watch them closely, they only take a few min and burn quick. Take them out and sandwich together. So good
Having a grandma into your 20s is the most beautiful thing. You're finally old enough to really be friends. I miss mine so much but OK makes me smile. I'd watch her eat plain rice any day.
Haha i guess kind of like how my little cousins are almost japanese because they lived their entire lives there but they were raised by american parents... So they are an odd yet cute mix of cultural practices. I'd say when they come to visit they act more japanese 🤔 but anyways they know a lot about american culture and yet there's still plenty common things here that they discover and are shocked with including some food. 🙂
Also, instead of holding it right above and near the flame, find an opening where you can put it an inch or so away from a hot coal. This prevents it from burning and it always puffs up beautifully
Honestly I feel like they should try fair foods or Texas fair foods maybe I'm not sure what they are like other places but here we have tater tots, those spiraly potato chips things with cheese, fried cheese, fried ice cream, turkey leg, corn dogs, chili cheese fries, funnel cake (just do a vid on funnel cake MY GOD it's so good) and things like that it's Soo good
Sometimes we use Oreos instead of graham crackers. We call it a s'moreo. Also, if you cook it slowly, at a low heat (farther from the flame) you can toast the whole marshmallow golden so the inside gets really gooey.
Your grandma was about 10 years old when Kim IL Sung and his army invaded the South. Would you ever plan to let her tell the World (Ourselves), what she Remembers? Edit: You have no idea how beautiful you are . And I know you ain't hearing that sh*t, but it's true.

This may be my fave Grandma video 🥺 I had a s'mores campfire for my high school graduation party. My mom, being from NYC, had never had one. The first s'more I made I gave to my mom. I'd gone back to my friends to finally make one for me when I hear my mom call out and ask for another one. She was IN LOVE. To the point where she asked for the next two I made and I hadn't had any yet 😅 Luckily my friend realized it and made one for me. Watching you guys have s'mores brought back the best memories for me. Thank you 🥰
Awwww this was so adorable!! I love that Grandma Ok got to experience the fun mess of s’mores, everyone deserves to try them atleast once in their life!
Just in case anyone was wondering if there was any other way you could make s’mores without using a campfire you can always take a plate and put the gram cracker then chocolate then marshmallow then the other gram cracker like a sandwich on the plate then put it in the microwave for 5-10 seconds don’t put it in for anything higher or else it will burn then take it out and then you have a s’more hope this is useful to anyone wanting to make a s’more ☺️
The gas stove burner set to about 1/2" flame is capable of toasting the marshmallow to an utterly delicious golden brown. Microwave method is convenient AF, especially if you push chocolate drops into the middle of the marshmallow. Both are great, with or without the Graham cracker. A campfire, with friends, is most satisfying.
I like roasting starbursts when we go camping! They get kind of crunchy on the outside & gooey on the inside. So good! Also, if you want to make s'mores in bulk or don't have access to a campfire, you can lay out graham crackers on a baking sheet, put a marshmallow on top of each cracker, & then toast them in the oven. Then when the marshmallows are golden brown, you just the tray out & add the chocolate & other cracker!
The thicker, chunkier chocolate bar is not optimal for S'mores construction. You want the bog-standard regular sized Hershey's Bar, this provides an easier melt and smoother "bite" and texture. Chocolate is never bad, but semi-liquid mostly melted is the standard for s'mores.

I love you grandma. You make me remember my grandma who left us long ago. How much fun she was. Thank you.
I have started noticing myself making the same "mmmM" sound like Grandma OK when I'm eating something yummy! 😄
She seems like such a sweet lady! I hope I can be this happy and confident when I’m her age!
FYI, gas/burners don't taste as good as over real wood burning
edit: ALSO bring your chocolate close to heat source to soften it
Isn't it also not great to ingest? Once cooked over gas
When I get a hankering I use a candle, learned to not use the scented ones though
@@christinep2607 good point, I would never directly go over the gas but like close to it to melt the marshmallow...that is the better option I think
I love watching Grandma OK enjoying new foods! You two are adorable together!
The "burned" ones are the best
I just buried my grandpa today so it really makes me happy to see grandma ok so happy and healthy. This moments are so precious and you're so lucky to be recording these moments to have forever
As an American I'd much rather have a potato or fish on the fire.
Right? When she said potatoes I was like heck yeah I want that
same, with some french cheese inside the potato
The best way to make it if you’re roasting the marshmallows over the fire is to slide the chocolate into the centre of the marshmallow after you pull it off the stick. That way the hot marshmallow insides melt the chocolate 😋
You can also make them easily at home by using the oven. Lay down two graham crackers on a baking sheet, place chocolate on one and marshmallow on the other. Put it in the oven using a medium or low broil. Watch them closely, they only take a few min and burn quick. Take them out and sandwich together. So good
GRANNYS A BADDIE PERIOD
I look forward to these videos with grandma OK all the time. What a gem. What a legend.
If they don’t have s’mores in South Korea what DO THEYY EATT!!
Sweet potatoes...potatoes...corn... chestnuts ... and ramen in a pot, usually, LOL
@@검은깨-i5g That sounds pretty good to me too! I want it ALL!
Lol
They really like chocopies in South Korea, s'mores should be a thing there!
@@jessicah3450 yup
Having a grandma into your 20s is the most beautiful thing. You're finally old enough to really be friends. I miss mine so much but OK makes me smile. I'd watch her eat plain rice any day.
"I'm European almost" how can you be almost European? lol Also this is random but you two are so cute when the Marshmallow catches on fire lol
Maybe they were American but raised in Europe?
Haha i guess kind of like how my little cousins are almost japanese because they lived their entire lives there but they were raised by american parents... So they are an odd yet cute mix of cultural practices. I'd say when they come to visit they act more japanese 🤔 but anyways they know a lot about american culture and yet there's still plenty common things here that they discover and are shocked with including some food. 🙂
I think he was joking.
I just love the grandma she’s sooo sweet❤️❤️❤️.
The secret to a great smore? Leave the Graham crackers open for w free days even they are stake they get a little soft. Easier to bite
Also, instead of holding it right above and near the flame, find an opening where you can put it an inch or so away from a hot coal. This prevents it from burning and it always puffs up beautifully
Every time I see your grandma smiling & having fun I miss my grandma. She passed away when I turn 7.
Honestly I feel like they should try fair foods or Texas fair foods maybe I'm not sure what they are like other places but here we have tater tots, those spiraly potato chips things with cheese, fried cheese, fried ice cream, turkey leg, corn dogs, chili cheese fries, funnel cake (just do a vid on funnel cake MY GOD it's so good) and things like that it's Soo good
Funnel cake is life
Yes! Going to a fair and smelling the fried food is truly amazing. I also love to get elephant ears and blooming onions
@@_fantomas what are elephant ears and I completely forgot cotton candy!
@@oofye747 it’s like a funnel cake but it’s flat and looks kinda like an elephants ear it’s awesome
That is such a good idea!!!
Just by watching grandma enjoying s’mores to the point she got the marshmallow all over her face it gave me life
Only the ones who are “early” can like this😁
yeet
same lol
Im here just a hour late😭😭
im 4 hrs late :>>
I've been going through it lately, and seeing videos with Grandma OK in them is one of the things I really look forward to. I hope to be able to send a snack one day. I'd love nothing more than to send something she'd be able to enjoy.
Grandma OK is the most pure being on the internet. She's just the best!
Thank you 🥰
Smmmmmores 😋
Awwww this was so adorable!! I love that Grandma Ok got to experience the fun mess of s’mores, everyone deserves to try them atleast once in their life!
Just in case anyone was wondering if there was any other way you could make s’mores without using a campfire you can always take a plate and put the gram cracker then chocolate then marshmallow then the other gram cracker like a sandwich on the plate then put it in the microwave for 5-10 seconds don’t put it in for anything higher or else it will burn then take it out and then you have a s’more hope this is useful to anyone wanting to make a s’more ☺️
If you have a gas stove, that fire also works.
@@candicehoneycutt4318 yeah you can also use a gas stove as a substitute
I fully suggest putting a marshmallow in the microwave for about 15 seconds honestly it's so fun to watch it puff up lol
You can also make s'mores in an air fryer.
I love grandma!! She's just so much fun!
Nooo it’s better the more burnt the marshmallow is! Get it black!
Never been this early in my life to anything

The best things about s’mores are the mess and the taste! Get messy. Have fun! It is a simple childlike experience isn’t it! Lovely.

Now I really want s'mores! Nothing beats making them over a campfire... but it's all snowy outside and I don't have any of the ingredients... oof
Love seeing Grandma OK and you trying new and fun things.
