The game is set principally in Baghdad, which is divided into four districts, but also features Alamut, the fortress headquarters of the Hidden Ones. The main character is Basim, a cunning street thief with nightmarish visions seeking answers and justice. The game is intended to be reminiscent of older Assassin's Creed titles, being more linear and story-focused and reducing the number of role-playing elements present in recent installments of the series. The core elements of the gameplay include parkour, close-quarter combat, and stealth. The game is described as a smaller Assassin's Creed title, with the main campaign lasting around 15-20 hours, similar to older games in the franchise. The game is set to be released on October 12, 2023, on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation, PlayStation, EPIC, PC, and Amazon Luna.
Assassin's Creed Mirage's parkour mechanics are said to be "closer to the Ezio games" than more recent entries in the series. The game aims to put the emphasis on "comfort and fluidity" and to go back to the series' roots with Mirage. The parkour system is one of the core elements of the gameplay, along with close-quarter combat and stealth. The game features parkour, but it will be missing a key parkour feature. The game's creative director, Stephane Boudon, revealed that not every fan feature is making it back into the game, including a parkour feature. Having played unity, I had high expectations for this game's parkour, but it seems that there's just something with AC Unity's parkour mechanics that makes it the best of the series for some reason in my opinion.

Ac mirage city is one of the best the game had for me, specially for the parkour. But the animation it feels so laggy, slow and not smooth like Unity. I felt like playing ac 2’s parkour
