A more fair comparison may have been to the Avalon Limited. Comparing the Super to the XLS seems like they're giving themselves an unfair advantage by putting a fully-loaded, top-of-the-line, niche-market model up against a middle-of-the-pack family car.
@@Aaron.Crow512 On the other side of the argument, however, is the fact that not even the LaCrosse Super is available with ventilated seats, while the Avalon is.
@@Browningate right but did they mention that? Nope. And when it came into interior dimensions they conveniently decided not to include those visuals to see just how much roomier the avalon is to the Buick. Also about the folding rear seats who says Avalon doesnt offer that feature in lower models that recline seat feature could be an option on the xls model and they didn't include that. It was just a lot of juvenile things going on in the video that I couldn't even finish it, it was a joke lolz.

I have a super and a cxl, I love my super, it's a smile machine. The cxl is just a better highway car though. The special suspension in the super is rougher, the car is noisier etc.
I want one of these but do I really think it is a better overall car than an Avalon? No. I have owned GM cars and I have owned Hondas and Toyotas and I have never seen the paint smear on the switch gear of a Toyota or Honda in less than 30k. My Honda had 332K and the original power windows work while my Pontiac 4 door had 3 fail between 70-81k. I could go on but there is no point. BTW I drive the Honda everyday and the Pontiac on weekends.
the only thing thats a deal breaker throughout this whole deal is the fact that buick's a better brand than toyota. we all know this. so.....why no auxilary jack buick? hmmm? i wish they had a youtube page. also i'd also like to add that i think any buick is better than any toyota. for this to be fair they need to find a way to target lexus without stepping on cadillacs toes.
Which one has the better all around build quality better reliability, smoother although less powerful engine and transmission, and better resale value??? Toyota all day better car. That V8 is nice tho
Looks like they driving around Playa Del Rey, California. IMO the Super is still one of the best "sleepers" out there.
I enjoyed this. Cool find , and very informative. Kudos to Buick for making the Super. Thanks for sharing!
Narrator: "Fastest Buick ever.."
Grand National: "Am I a joke to you?"
@Anon C IMO the GN will always be the baddest and fastest Buick. In 1986 Car and Driver tested a standard GN, 0-60 4.9, 1/4 mile 13.9 at 98mph.
Love the grand National and all but stock vs stock the super is going to beat the Gn
Dude this is really old. Buick is a better brand than toyota. Even in reliability. There's a lot of people getting paid to say otherwise.
Agreed
Toyota Avalon takes the edge with interior design, comfort and Technology. Everything else goes to the Buick Super.
I prefer the interior of the Lacrosse over the Avalon, but the Avalon has way more interior space, especially in the back seat.

They always did this which is why this is even more comical when we look at resale and reliability

In my 2 years experience driving this car in Michigan, it is an exceptional car and very reliable.
Alexander Paolella just maintnance stuff. Coolnto know...thx
Alexander Paolella It's a pickup engine in a midsize family sedan. It must be a rocket.
I really did like how they offered seating for six. Too bad it dropped the feature after 2010

Anybody know why they knocked off 3 horsepower for the buick vs the impala?
The Buick has a slightly more restrictive exhaust
@@erik5164 Oh ok, guess every hp counts as I have an 09 Impala SS with 303 hp and 323 tq.
comparing V8's to V6's is very clever
i will take the AVALON at any time
All I know is that the XLS is a delightful vehicle to drive !
A little too much chest pounding in this infomercial from BUICK
Hey there. I really love it broken purring What do you think... 1!
Ok some of these comparisons are on point, but GM trying to say that OnStar turn-by-turn is superior to DVD-based sat-nav? COME ON NOW.
Did the super have transmission issues like the ss impala?

the gm 5.3 and just about any gm v8 can probably last just as long as an avalon
300 hp and FWD? Please!
4spd vs 6spd. Great! hahahaha
toyota wins
toyota/lexus are the best no doubt but i'm going w the buick this time you goofy
Inheriting its ugly looks from the base Lacrosse and lack of ventilated seats or even navigation make it the true loser here.
Child plz
