I'm just starting to get geeky about trigs and benchmarks so an interesting video. It's great that there's so many of these dotted around and hopefully most of the trigs will be preserved if the land where they are doesn't get built on.
Thankfully a lot of the general public in Britain respect trig points so many do become local landmarks with people helping to upkeep them. On the Axe Edge trig someone had 3D printed a new cap on the pillar as I believe the original was taken. Glad you’ve enjoyed the video anyways :)

The benchmark arrow is also called a "broad arrow" and was used to mark uk government property. There's a wiki page on it which is quite interesting
