- I needed a new clutch and new exhaust. Only one place to go...DAF Classics in Peterborough with the DAFman himself, Graham Meinert and son Thomas as able assistant. This is the place to come for all things DAF. Graham has an amazing stock of NOS parts, reconditioned parts, body panels, in fact anything and everything for your old DAF or DAF-Volvo.
I had a great day out. It was a long trip in the old girl but she was faultless for the 350 mile round trip. I didn't even stop on the way back...55mph for 3 and half hours up the A1 and across to Liverpool on the M62. Fab.
Average fuel consumption was a pretty decent 40 miles per gallon...not bad for an old, mid 1970's clunker. LOL!
Thanks to Graham and Thomas for your hospitality, great job done and hours of DAF natter.
Proud Graham is my dad and brilliant at what he does xx
Glad to see you got there and with a great outcome as well
thanks...was a little apprehensive of driving so far in an old clunker but the old girl was great.
Great to see so much DAFness. The 66 Mariton were such a cool little coupe.
Yes, the coupe is the best one.
The man is a wizard! He transformed my Volvo 66.
Yes, he is the UK's leading authority on DAF/Variomatic.
That's a lovely 66 you have. Great to see it still doing what it was meant to do.
Thanks. Yes, it did well. 350 miles in a day and no bother at all. I didn't even stop once on the way home. Almost 4 hours at 55-60 miles per hour on the motorway...smooth.
I'm not far from you over in Hoylake with my Volvo 66. Perhaps we could meet up sometime?
Hi Peter, sorry only just seen this message. Yes, that would be fun. Do you go to any car meets? There is a regular one in Rainhill...bit of a trek for you. Graham from Daf Classics mentioned you and I had been meaning to get in touch. Would be fun to get the two 66's together. It's best to email me . newwy@sky.com
