I absolutely love this classic set! As a beginner, the thickness actually helps and gives me time to sculpt without it running everywhere. I also just really love their concealer pink color. Between this and mia secret covers, I'm good to go. I personally really like them and their videos and that they don't require a license to purchase.
I absolutely love this system!!! Young nails have really changed my nail game fr.... Ik the prices are a little on the higher side but it’s definitely worth it!! I enjoy the acrylic system too!! Quick tip for my nail ppl on a budget.,.. stock up on supplies during their sales!!! I really really want to THANK YOU Miss Lissette for inspiring me to get my buns back into doing nails after over 10 years of bn a bystander lol!! You are such a great nail artist and I APPRECIATE YOU!!! If you warm up ur thicker gels they move a little easier, and yes they do burn if you go in with a thicker layer (I don’t put my hand all the way in the light I ease it in n it helps) I need to get a light with a lower light setting.
Hey Maria thank you so much for the kind words!, I totally try to stay true to the kit so that's why i didn't warm up the Gel, was trying to give my most honest review possible with what the kit actually provided
I love their gel, its the only gel I use now, when I'm not using polygel,I used to use ibd for decades because I'm old school lol 😆, but I tried this 2yrs ago & im hooked! 1💜
I have the entire youngnails gel system and acrylic system. I love youngnails products but I really like how your products look so im going to make a purchase soon. Im waiting for some colors to come back in stock.❤
I ordered this kit about 3 weeks ago. YN recommended freezing the gel just in front of the lamp for a few seconds beforehand to prevent the burn 🔥...Beautiful application
Thanks hun for all your hard work. I saw products that had similarities to cheaper versions of the same products but at the higher end prices. Don’t even talk to me about heat spikes lol, every one I’ve tried give heat. Kirsty Meakin says, in a joking way, introduce the nail to the lamp holding it at the front, taking away and do it again and then go all the way in. It definitely helps. Great job ❤️🇦🇺
Thank you! lol i got all the little tricks... but i was hoping for no Heat. Thanks for watching... does AU mean Australia?? if so Thanks for the support from out there
YN is the primary gel system I use. I have the hand outside the light but close to it when it's on for 3 seconds. When that's done, then stick in for 5 seconds. It sets it without the burn. Try that and see how it works for you. Love it!! You did a beautiful job
Young nails is the whole reason I started using gel. But yes I completely agree they definitely burn 🔥! Still love their products and the classy chic set you created💕
I bought this set a few months back and use concealer pink all the time. To make it looser I move it in a circle when I first put it down near the cuticle before I pillow it. If you just let it sit there upside down it does level. I also cure at half power for 99 seconds because I have sensitive nails
I got the small kit and man that sculpt was thick. I can't fit a form without some product going under my free edge. I love love love how these came out 😍😍
You always work it out. I'm still working on my acrylic skills but I was thinking of getting this kit in the future when I start learning gel. Thx for testing it out!
I know that i am just seeing this video.. But i did like that you went in and showed us the kit and even told us what you liked and didnt like about it.. I was wondering if you could show us a decorating video.. with using stamping to decorate.. i have some things to do stamping with but i have not used it yet. i am still getting into doing nails.. and so far have only practiced on myself and one other person. I do plan on going to school for it as soon as possible. But would love to see a video or two on stamping and how to do it. Ty.. love what you do.
oh girl im not good at stamping 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Ive tried a couple of times and idk. I know Talia ( ua-cam.com/users/TaliasNailStudio ) does a lot of stamping and a lot for videos decorating nails with her ClearJelly Stamper products. if you've never watched her videos I highly recommend you do cause she's a beast at it lol. and if you already watcher then...... you already know lml
@@LissetteCruz I will look her up. Ty.. do you know if we have to have to go to school for nails or no? And I love how you decorate. So any videos on that are welcomed.. hehe. Love watching them.
I LOVE the build gel. After trying a lot of other gels, I keep going back to YN Build. I will say I can only cure it under the low heat setting (especially the thicker concealer gels) because 🔥💥🔥💥 but build isn't as bad at all. It's still loose enough to self level but strong enough to create structure and build the apex
Girl first of all Congratulations on almost 20k!!!! You have come so far from since I first started watching you. Also, thanks for reviewing this kit and product. I was wanting to try it but it is expensive and I am just a nail enthusiast so you doing this helps me with my decision. Beautiful set and I will be on the lookout for that 20k crossover!!!!
Lissette you're so funny! The gels in the pots are their older formula and do have a higher heat spike. To avoid that, do a very thin layer first and cure it for 30 seconds outside of the lamp, then do a full cure inside. Once you have cured the first layer, you can do a regular thick layer and you shouldn't have any heat spike.....it's just that first layer. Their new Precision Applicators (like Makartt Qik Gel is their second generation formula and has virtually no heat spike. The base gel has the highest heat spike of all, which is why they recommend applying it in a very very thin layer (almost dry brushing) and it's not suitable for building extensions because of the intensity of the heat spike. When I first started working with the cover pink, the super thick viscosity was so hard for me to work with, but with some practice you'll learn to love it, I promise. When you set the bead in the center of your nails, roll it in a circle for about 10-15 seconds and that will loosen it up so you can easily pull it down as usual. I love Young Nails products and use them all the time along with my IBD gels. The Precision Applicators are great for your non-dominant hand. They have tons of videos and evi know about gel I learned from them and YOU!!! And if you have any questions let me know.....I'd be happy to help! This set is absolutely GORGEOUS......so classy and elegant!
@@LissetteCruz Oh that makes me so happy! I've learned so much about gel from you and if I can return that to you in even the smallest way I'm happy to do so!! 🤗💕🤗💕
Thank you! 😊 I’m going to keep practicing with the thicker gel. I’m just so comfortable with thinner gels I have to get use to it. thank you for watching 😊
I like YN products. They do have gels that have a thinner viscosity that you would probably like more but I do believe they put more sculptor gels over their cover gels in the gel kits. I think you would like their concealor (not cover - my bad wrote cover first lol ) gels more
@@LissetteCruz I meant to say concealers not cover lol but I feel like the clear one is more runny. Have you ever tried luxa polish's build gel? Build 1 would probably have more of a viscosity you would like over the build 2. Both self level but build 1 moved faster
Nice review! I agree I’d rather have straight tips or c curve tips. I also would rather have the longer forms and square files. But their kits are amazing quality at a good price.
'where you goin' great line. I watched and then used my little Synergy kit. I will definitely be purchasing the full size kit on the Memorial Day sale coming up! thanks for the review

😍 Beautiful Set...💖 Loved the concealer pink but honestly I love Mia Secret & IBD {as well as their cost compared to YN.} 😉 Great, honest review. Thank you...💯
Most of my videos i shape and E-file hard gels hun, it usually takes me about 2 hours or so give or take depending on the design. Thank you for watching!
I haven't purchased the gel kit, but I did get the base gel, builder gel, and a color gel called honey something (it's a beautiful color). I have not tried them yet because I am currently playing around with your gels, trying to learn what I'm supposed to do 😂. Your nails look beautiful as usual. I watch your videos all the time and I can't wait to see what else you do.
Nails look beautiful, and I personally think the thickness is good for beginners, but you're a pro 😉 maybe that's why you didn't like the consistency, thank you for showing and explaining each consistency I recently tried gel for the first time and I KNOW I NEED PRACTICE LOL
🤣🤣 yes I totally agree for a beginner it may be the perfect gel for them. Bit I'm definitely going to go back to it and try it again. Just so I'm more comfortable with the thickness of it cause girl it took me a long time to do this simple set. 🤣
Isn't weird how a "simple set" is usually a bit more complicated than the more elaborate ones, cause that happens to me all the time. I don't think there's a "simple" set all of them require time and creativity 🥰
These are beautiful as usu! I work only with thick hard gel pretty much you did great for your try👏👏. Can’t you tell me the size the gel pots? I’m thinking I might try this kit.🥰
You did that so awesomely....it was good to see this vid....yooo...but the heat spikes....is something you should bring into their attention 🤔.....but regardless the set was beautiful nails 💅 😍.....Nancy
I’m so glad that you do these types of videos!! Especially for those of us that are wondering how a product(s) work or look before buying them. I can honestly say that I’ve never been a big fan of YNT, I mean, I can’t even watch their videos, his voice to me is like nails on a chalkboard 😂 😂
That’s so funny!! I hadn’t noticed that about your voice until you pointed it out 😂😂 must be why I love listening to you … you’ve got a voice that’s very easy to listen to 😘😘
Hi I’m super late but was just watching this today. I was wondering why you used the protein bond before the top coat? I’m a beginner and I haven’t done that, so if it will help with lifting that would be cool! Thanks for all of your informative videos!
Been looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this set! I bought their starter kit back I think on their Black Friday sale and got two since they were basically bogo at the time. Their clear sculpture doesn't burn me but their concealer pink definitely does. But when it starts to get warm, that's when I pull my nail out and pinch it so it doesn't really bother me. I agree about their brush. I love the shape and size but at $21 full price, I want a damn lid lol. I'm really surprised about those tips. They're supposed to be a young and modern brand - you'd think they'd have the kind of tips everyone wants, not the kind that were popular 15 years ago. 🤷♀️ And I'm so glad you showed that Sets glitter! That's one that I've been thinking hard about getting and it just looked gorgeous, especially after you mixed it! Great video! ❤❤
$21!!!!! What in the world. Yea I definitely did not know that's how much they are going for reg price. Word why wouldn't it come with a proper cap. 🤣🤣 smh
@@LissetteCruz $21 plus $10 shipping unless you're ordering over $50 worth. Even so, yeah, it should come with a cap. And a better handle to because that wood one looks 😒
I like young nail a lot but the gel heat spikes are one of the worst I've experienced ,I thought it must be me but I don't think it is,they suggested thinner layers but try that with the thick ones tyfs😘😍
lol girlllll, most people just stick their hands in and our of the lights every few seconds to try and prevent the spikes lol, Thanks for watching Michelle
Hey Toni, I have a video specifically on how to clean gel brushes, try to browse through my videos and let me know if you can't find it and I'll try to link it to you. Thanks for watching
Ughh I love seeing alerts for new videos from you‼️ I love YN gels (even tho they burn) but prefer the consistency of Mia Secret. Cover blush is very similar to YN concealer pink.
Ooooh, I'm so glad I saw your comment! I've been using the YN gels from the starter kit but now that I'm running low I'm thinking about trying the Mia's Secret. I love the color of the YN Concealer Pink so now I know which color to get from MS!
@@Nails_By_Kimberlee it’s a great product! Definitely self levels more than YN. I didn’t realize how similar the colors were until I decided to swatch literally everything I bought and made.
@@xMiSzREDx that's so good to know. I like the YN gel but it's pricey. I only bought it because those starter sets were on sale basically bogo, so I got two of them. I thought it was worth it for that price but I'm looking for something a little more affordable if I'm paying full price lol. Thanks so much for the info!
The consistency wasn’t normal for you, but u did an amazing job working with it, as always!! U can always use the tips in one of ur giveaways … just a thought 😊😊
Wow girl I love this set so much and that top gel is shiny I love it you get so much in it I do not like the tips at all lol 😆 yes I would love to see you try more products and do review videos please and thank you 😊♥😘😍🥰
I totally agree! I really like the top coat and with the tips I’ll see if I can fine use for them practicing what kind of finger nail it would work good on but if not they getting added to the giveaway pile lmaoo.
When I first started using gel I gravitated towards the thicker gel because it behaves closer to acrylic and I didn't understand how gel works, but now I now like a medium consistency. Also, for the price, there are a lot less expensive brands that dont burn..
@@MelaniesManicures makkart. You can find them on Amazon or their own website. Great prices great quality. I also suggest their polygel its a great consistency
Greg from young nails has a video where he does a technique he calls splitting the gel .... its supposed to help elleviate the heat spike. I do like their teaching vids
@@LissetteCruz i got a small/sample version of that kit and was confuses with all the different gels. Since then ive watched a bunch of their videos. But thank you so much for making this one.. it helps so much. And they are awesome!!!!
Those tips though 😂 no way they’d work for anything other than active length and you’d have to chop most of it off even for that. You did a great job with the clear sculpture instead with a beautiful end result. 💅❤️
Love the set. I feel the same about the super thick viscosity on the gel. Really prefer the medium viscosity and self leveling makes my life easier lol. Have you tried the red iguana gels?
Omg girrrrrrrl, yes, their gels do burn like a mofo. I ended up using the low setting on my lamp, the 120 second one is low for the first 60 seconds and then full for the last 60 seconds. If you have that option, try it. If not, hang on to your old lamps that are lower wattage and flash cure for 5 seconds at a time till the heat spikes dissipate. All the same, it's a PITA that they make so many bold claims and literally NO ONE I've known has had a no-burn experience. As for the videos, I LOVVVVE all of your videos, so adding in some trial and error videos would be great too. 👍🖤 I adore ya girlfriend!! 🖤
I dont mind the gel burning. I know how to work with gel so I don't get heat spikes. I honestly don't think there is a gel out there that doesn't burn. What bothers me is that it says on the jar "little to no heat" when it clearly heqted up like crazy and burns like a mofo. 🤣🤣
ugh I used the cover pink today as a first time gel user and I was not expecting it to be so thick. These are gorgeous...Is there a gel with a thinner consistency that you would recommend?
I absolutely love this classic set! As a beginner, the thickness actually helps and gives me time to sculpt without it running everywhere. I also just really love their concealer pink color. Between this and mia secret covers, I'm good to go. I personally really like them and their videos and that they don't require a license to purchase.

Hey lilly, the Jars are 15G💖
More builder in a bottle videos pleaseeeee 🤗🤗🤗
Got you! 💞
Thats gorgeous
thank you 😊
You did that so awesomely....it was good to see this vid....yooo...but the heat spikes....is something you should bring into their attention 🤔.....but regardless the set was beautiful nails 💅 😍.....Nancy
I’m pretty sure they know 😂😂 they wanna convince people it’s no heat spike but we all know the truth!!!! 😂😂😂🤦🏼♀️ thanks for watching !
Watching the end result, I was confused! I couldn't remember you glueing the tips on lol. Good job x
🤣 didn't use tips
@@LissetteCruz yeah I know, you did such a good job, I thought for a minute I'd missed a bit 😄 xx
I'm the same!
lmao Girllll people tell me i sound like Nicki Minaj lol 😂😅 Thanks for tolerating me! lol
That’s so funny!! I hadn’t noticed that about your voice until you pointed it out 😂😂 must be why I love listening to you … you’ve got a voice that’s very easy to listen to 😘😘
Beautiful 😻😻😻😻
Thank you! 😊
Young nails states the pots will have thermal spike. Now the new tubes used on curing at half power, they have virtually no heat spike.
I like young nail a lot but the gel heat spikes are one of the worst I've experienced ,I thought it must be me but I don't think it is,they suggested thinner layers but try that with the thick ones tyfs😘😍
lol girlllll, most people just stick their hands in and our of the lights every few seconds to try and prevent the spikes lol, Thanks for watching Michelle
how do you clean and store your gel brushes? i am new to gels so i wanted to know so i can care for my brushes properly.thanks.
Hey Toni, I have a video specifically on how to clean gel brushes, try to browse through my videos and let me know if you can't find it and I'll try to link it to you. Thanks for watching
@@LissetteCruz ok great thanks...you are officially my mentor for gel...I love your designs and you make it look so easy and effortless. Thanks
Ughh I love seeing alerts for new videos from you‼️ I love YN gels (even tho they burn) but prefer the consistency of Mia Secret. Cover blush is very similar to YN concealer pink.
it really is tho. thank you for watching. 🥰
@@Nails_By_Kimberlee hell yeah... gotta save the coin every chance u get. Anytime!
You might like YN gloss gel since you like the thinner consistency gel. The sculpture gels are their thicker consistency gels.
Thanks for the heads up!
I normally use the low heat setting for my builder gel and it doesn't burn
no doubt!, Thanks for watching!!
Hey Lissette! Made it in time again yayyy!
yayyyy Hey!! 🥰🥰🥰
The consistency wasn’t normal for you, but u did an amazing job working with it, as always!! U can always use the tips in one of ur giveaways … just a thought 😊😊
This will most likely happen! Stay tuned!
I love their system
It's a pretty good system. Need to play with the thicker gel more lml
beautifullllll!....can I buy the tips off of you please I love them!
lol thank you .🥰
As always you’re amazing! I’m a weenie, I’m scared of trying builder gel 😬
What are you afraid of!! You can do it!
@@LissetteCruz thank you hun! I’m not good at using forms and I’m afraid of just making a mess lol
Can you recommend some gels that don’t burn! I’m new to gels and would like to try a brand that’s kinda thicker and affordable and doesn’t burn
@@MelaniesManicures makkart. You can find them on Amazon or their own website. Great prices great quality. I also suggest their polygel its a great consistency
Thanks for watching hun!!
Yesss i loved the video
Thank you!
They came out so beautiful! I’m kinda sad about the heat spikes. I’ve been eyeing this kit for a while now
Thanks hun!
Greg from young nails has a video where he does a technique he calls splitting the gel .... its supposed to help elleviate the heat spike. I do like their teaching vids
Yea I saw that. Ima try that. But they really need to not claim its a little to no heat transfer gels lml thanks for watching
thank you love . 🥰🥰
Such a pretty set as always u killed it ❤️
💅💞 Thank you!
Love the set. I feel the same about the super thick viscosity on the gel. Really prefer the medium viscosity and self leveling makes my life easier lol. Have you tried the red iguana gels?
Totally agree! and yes i have a few of them already
Please has anyone told you that you sound like Nicki 😭😭💗 that’s all I’m hearing rn besides that I absolutely love your videos 🥺💗x
🤣🤣🤣 all the time girl lml
I got you pretty soon with some suggestions Leeann, i didnt forget about you.
😍😍 Hii
hey Ella
Where did you get your pallet? I love the Rose quartz look
thank you. I got it from Shein.com 🥰
This set was beautiful though. That's what I love about gel... it looks rough at 1st but when you file it u r g2g
I totally agree!
