The highest of this, for me, was how HAPPY Roger looked while playing.
I'd seen him live solo several times and he always seemed miserable.
Something changed, fundamentally, with him in the last few years leading up to that reunion. He put aside his anger, his resentment, and found his connection with his audience again after years being behind his wall.
This was his ultimate tearing down of the wall, by reuniting with the rest of Floyd, one last time.

Everybody always talks about Gilmour’s undeniable prowess on the guitar, and rightfully so. He’s probably the most incredibly tasteful lead guitarist to ever grace a stage in that he always plays exactly the right thing for a given song.
However, because of that, his amazing voice is often overlooked, and he’s one of the few vocalists who really sounds a BETTER with some age on his voice.

Rich, you spotted the moment in Comfortably Numb where drummer Nick Mason pulls his headphones off. He must have wanted to hear the guitar solo 'live' rather than via the electronics as this was the final time they were on stage together - sadly, Rick Wright passed away a few years later. My God, this is such an emotional performance from the boys here. As Roger later said, it's a satisfying way to end the band formally. And great for us fans too, they got back together at last for one last blast...I'm envious of all here who were there, I would have emptied my bank account to go:).

Saw Pink Floyd in 1987 in Versailles, Paris, France and again in 1994 at the Werchter festival site in Belgium. Two totally different but marvellous experiences. Pink Floyd are absolutely in a category of their own, their music grabs you and carries you away to worlds you couldn't have imagined. They are an intoxicating drug that expands your mind, a trip you luckily never recover from.

Watched this live...I think on MTV, but I can't remember for sure. They put an ad in right in the middle of a song though, so they replayed this later in full with no interruption. Live 8 had several different stages set up around the world where top musicians played. Anyways, I always cry when I see this as it's the last concert they did together, and that makes me sad.

PF is amazing in so many ways. One of them is that they didn't lose their ability to sing or play. So many of the greats just sounded terrible when they got old (no fault of their own, you can't fight time...). David's voice is still really smooth here.

I saw them at the Dagenham Roundhouse England along with every other 60's 70's rock/prog rock group. Look up "Dagenham Roundhouse England. List of bands that played there" and feel total rock envy, every weekend for years I saw the best. And strangely I remember every gig( and believe me I shouldn't be able to).

This event was really emotional for me. I watched it from my house and recorded it on VHS. I still have the tape. It really was a monumental event. Pink Floyd reunion? It was just too good to be true. Boy did they ever deliver with those 4 songs! Everyone wanted more of course, but economics (MONEY) made the rules. Truly they are giants in musical art.
I know you have done a bunch of The Who. The super cute way Kel says “mobile”...should invite a reaction to “Goin’ Mobile” .
    Stay safe!

This is my first time seeing this, thank you so much. Roger Waters looks like he is truely enjoying this.It breaks my heart that these geniouses power trips tore down the wall between them. I only wonder what more great music they could bring to us if they did not have their differences. God bless the Rolling Stones.

Fun fact-- this concert put Dark Side of the Moon album back on the billboard's top 200 best selling album's for the following the next couple year's, all proceeds from the sales of all Pink Floyd albums after this song went to charities to help the homeless, they were the only band that played that guitar that went outside of the concert to help people around the world, even donating their gift bags which contained Rolex watches to charity, Pink Floyd didn't benefit from this concert at all, they reunited because they knew they could help and that was their goal, was to help.

Just loved this - tear in the eye too. Live 8 had many very very special moments ... Stings performance and band - amazing set. The Who - stunned me yet again, and of course this. Happy memories of all this when they came out, lessons still to be learned. I know exactly where I was - at home transfixed by these performances fixing up my spare speaker set after my fronts blew out at the volume levels these acts and others made mandatory. What a day ...

My ex husband was shot in 2018. He suffered for nine months without ever getting out of the hospital. He took a turn for the worse, stopped breathing and became brain dead, only sustaining life from life support. The day that we took him off life support, my daughters, husbands and myself stood around his bed listening to music. Wish You Were Here was playing when he passed. This song destroys me every time I hear it. He was able to donate his kidney and gave someone else life.
