Small battery pack though at that price, short driving range&slow for a 2025 model year ev charging speeds due to 400v charging.
Basically a city car in basic trim. Not much better than a 2023 chevbolt euv was.
Bet like the much ballyhooed ex30 the decent spec loaded awd ones will all be in the 40-45k price range. Esp outside of Korea.
I also bet the real world driving ranges aren't as good as Kia claims either. But more affordable ev options are needed so good luck Kia! 🤔

@@Carfan678 That was my understanding, but it’s good to have it confirmed. My point was really about my hope that they come out with AWD. I think it will sell well as I don’t think there is much competition for a small AWD, especially with the battery size of the EV 3. I think the Volvo EX 30 will be similar in size, but it probably more expensive and more minimalist and has a smaller battery. What I’d really like is an EV 5 but I know that’s not supposed to come any time soon. It will probably do well either way as it I think buyers will like the boxy shape and styling, as long as the price is appropriate.
In AWD this will take over the US EV market.

A GT variant will likely have it according to reports. The also made mention that the US version (made in US or most likely Monterra Mexico) will have different equipment or trims compared to the ones from Korean and elsewhere. Also that fact that it will be made locally the prices will be amazing.

After 7 years of driving a BMW i3, I sold it and leased an Ioniq 5. Although the Ioniq 5 is an amazing vehicle, and I’ve been spoiled by driving it, it’s more EV than I need. I miss the size and sportiness of the BMW. The BMW i3 was the perfect size for an around town EV. My lease is up in early 2026. I hope this is available by then.
I will have my test drive done by then, hopefully I can tell you how fun it drives (on a BMW level, I sure do hope.)
@@JohnSmith-uz3dt I've had my i3 for 7 years also, and while it's got some serious flaws, there's nothing else quite like it -- my favorite car ever. I don't expect to ever find another EV to fully replace it, but the EV3, Volvo EX30, and Mini Aceman are on my shortlist.
@@dkseattle I had an EX30 on order. I got tired of waiting for it and got the Hyundai. I’m still waiting for my $500 back from Volvo.
The EV3 was clearly inspired by the i3. From the back quarter window to the rear it's especially obvious. I love my i3, but at 10 years old now, it's starting to have range issues. I'd love to hold out for this to sell in the US, but I'm not sure I can wait that long unfortunately.

The rear door handle makes it a bit unique. Love the overall design. Might be my next vehicle when it gets to North America.

Apart from the actual road test. I do hope they got the memo to tone down the stupid safety tech! Like false readings on the speed limit and driver's attention, both are very annoying on newer cars!

I honestly don’t really go over Soundsystem because I don’t see myself being professional enough to go over such but I will definitely get my hands on it when I get a chance.

I don't like the look of the Kona. This EV3 looks so much better to me. Very good space with a length of only 4.30m. I saw the EV9 in person. It almost scared me... I hope the AWD will not impact the boot space.

There seems to be polarization in how people prefer the looks of equivalent Hyundais or Kias. A lot of people liked the look of the Ioniq 5, but I think the EV6 looks way better, so I got that.
Hi can you do the comparison of rear leg room and rear shoulder room between this and Kona EV? using the measuring tape
Missed opportunity with the tape measure handy. I would have loved to see those trunk measurements, particularly the width for a golf club compatibility check. Hopefully you can grab that whenever you get to see the K4. Both are strong competitors for my next vehicle.
The precise trunk size was released by Kia, which I didn't find the chance to insert on my video. Well, that's what I will be measuring in a few days then :)

Well, EV9 surely is equipped with OTA, not sure if Kia will make that as an update though.
@@CarSceneKorea I heard that the EV3 and EV9 should have the same CCNC System. So technically should be no problem to update. I hope that Kia will also update their flagship model.

for the range it is wonder since i can do 512 km with my 2021 Soul EV limited 200 hp and 64.8 kw/h batt that what the algorimt tell me about my city driving in summer!
Great video thanks. I'm in the UK and have a dog. What is your view of boot size for a medium size dog. Currently we have a 2019 Kona ev and boot rather small.
Won’t be much different, but the biggest downside will be the tiny rear glass compared to Kona. If you have your doggo sitting on the second row, it tilts a lot, windows go down all the way, quite roomy for the cars segment I’d say.

Thanks for the comment. First of all, the battery used on the car is NCM and the EV3 uses the E-GMP chassis, which is used on other modern EVs of HMG, such as EV6, EV9 and IONIQ 5.
Thanks for the video, i have a question, is the hud compatible with google maps with an iPhone ? It might functionning with Apple maps with iphone or google maps with android phone, like on the ev9. But it would be so goood if it works with an iPhone and google maps !
great Video! Those space measurements in the.back , how do they compare to the Seltos or Sportage or even EV6?
There is no comparing to that of the EV6 it is much smaller than EV6 but I will come up with a precise measurement using the tape measure once again. I didn’t necessarily go over the trunk because it was already all over revealed by Kia.
Hi great review. About the mirror, i think Karim Habib was talking about an order option for a digital mirror in a earlier interview. Do you have any data of the ground clearance for the EV3?

The EV3 with AWD or the IONIQ 5 (PE) will be my next car.
The car looks absolutely gorgeous. I ended up getting Ioniq 6 recently, but i want to know if switching to Kia EV3 would be worth a trade one day.
If you are okay with an EV sedan, I'd keep the IONIQ 6.
Interesting to see the HUD make it into a vehicle of this price class. I'm more interested in the sedan version. If the Ioniq counterpart to the EV4 has 800V architecture and comes with all the features shown here for a similar price it would be awesome.

Just went to the showroom to see the Santa Fe. I don’t hate it. Still a bit plasticky but it’s not bad. Don’t hate the land rover boxiness and the boot opening is okay too. Don’t feel like it’s a lot bigger than the older Santa Fe.
Only car missing in the showroom is Ioniq 6.
When this car was announced it was said it would have V2X but now I hear nothing about it anymore and I also don't see it on their (Dutch) website. I was so looking forward to that feature.
No mention of V2X after the release either 🥲
Interesting that the GT-line gets Hankook tires while the regular one gets crappy Nexen tires.
Where are the switches for the Rear heated seats? Shouldn’t be on the vertical strip applied to the rear doors? Like they are in the front? I don’t believe they are not offered on the GT line….

Is there anything in particular you curious about because the system won’t be much different from other cars.
Would you say the second-row legroom is larger (or about the same as) Niro or Kona? It seems obviously smaller than Tucson or Sportage.
I cannot recall those two cars atm, but being able to tuck my feet underneath the driver seat felt like I have a HUGE leg room. You know what I mean if you've been there 😉

Available on regular EV3, not sure about the base trim though. These will vary on a market to another.

I am also unclear as to how Kia will introduce which cars to which markets because there are countries that are already got EV5 while we don’t even have any information about the car here in Korea.

@@CarSceneKorea The problem for me is the conversion to Canadian $. The price will put it right in line with the Niro/EV6 and the Kona/Ioniq 5. Theres no benefit. I wanna see $35k CAD or less.
The price I shared is direct conversion from Korean price to USD, hope Canadian market will bring EV6 with competitive pricing.

Is this Ccnc or something else? Will other Ccnc cars like EV9 and facelifted EV6 also get the AI features?
Both of the cars do have ccNC, which means it also has OTA, over the air wireless update. I’m not sure if we will get AI features as an update though.
Maybe I missed the info but the infotainment will support third party apps like UA-cam, Spotify, Waze and so on
I think I sort of just said you can watch videos inside your car, including the OTT services. The apps provided will differ, depending on a country to another, but most likely will include all of the apps you’ve listed.
