As long as we all learnt something out of this video, it was well worth the watch time. As you said, and Ben concurred Keep all parts separated, marked and as if to rebuild. Then when something goes awry, you realise it early and can regroup. In other words, mark and remember, if not film! You two make a nice team, the way you each did what the other was expecting. Superb support from others as well! Thanks for this, glad I got out when I did. From UK.
Thanks for the video ZK and Ben. Another great teaching experience and tool. Lots of hard work with that transmission. Thanks to ZK and Ben for sharing this experience with us. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
"I'm stuck on the shaft" - "I hate that!" 😃 The discs friction welded together with hundreds of horsepower seems like a diesel tech's equivalent of a transformer can shorting out with a mean arc. No matter what the backstory is, it sure ain't no good!
I told the young guy one time And it was Friday and I asked him if he brought his lunch I was heating up bearings in a deep fire with hydraulic oil I said Friday we always have chicken wings The look on his face was priceless
Great vids as usual zeth now may I ask a question, I have a 8r 370 coming in April in the UK and I was wondering is there anything in particular I should keep an eye on or things to look out for as this will be my first john deere moving away from massey. Many thanks.
Hello, I am interested in getting into the same field as you, Agricultural Technician, and I had some questions about 3/8 vs 1/2 inch stubby impacts and right angle impacts, do you just get one of each? or do you use one a lot more than the other
Maybe it would have been good to show how to put together the sets for each speed. And show the worckshop manual and diagrams. I don’t know. I see your videos for learn. I need more technical information. Thanks
As I watch all your videos…where are all the Very specialized parts manufactured…in house or with very specialized vendors…the gears, machined shafts etc etc…..

Do you think the failure of these clutch packs has anything to do with the earlier catastrophic hydraulic failure and contamination?
Have you ever done a shop tour? That thing is huge
Why no anti-seize on the pulley shaft? It would make it easier to work on next time it happens. Great video as always, cheers :)

That’s correct!
