Every time we send it to a hydraulic specialist they charge us about $8000 for the repair on the seals on the ram cylinder itself. And for the pump, don’t even get me started. I’m just glad I’m not paying for it lol 😂. Good work kurtis, you saved yourself allot 💰.
I was trying to work out just how the hell those seals held on as long as they did! It was like they went and said "Finally my shift is over, and I can now sleep eternal" the moment you touched them. Another repair job done, and may it give you many more years of life.
It's really good guys and excellent instructional. Not only a 'how to' fix on the cylinder for th press but indirectly on issues like manual handling of heavy objects around the workshop. Tying it down so you could undo the gland and taping the holes is such a low-key demonstration of practical problem-solving stuff that's just so refreshing. Curtiss has a really intuitive sense of how and where to apply force but also how to innovatively use things to apply the force in the direction it needs to be. I drew a breath when I saw your hand position on the gland when you were dropping it in place. You shifted to open hands and in a heartbeat the bloody thing dropped. Clever because it saved your fingers from being nipped. Nice one. Love it when that happens. Building things or fixing things can be very satisfying.
As Homie was running towards the toys, I called 'Crocodile' and was chuffed when I was right 😂 Didn't expect the rubber chicken swap through. Nice keeping us on our toes Homeless!
